can you talk about kindred relationships? especially when it's an Si critic and an Se trickster. Like an intp x istp relationship. Would it work, or will the istp's Si critic get irritated? Is there a possibility the istp will be attracted to begin with?
You'll annoy the hell out of each other at first. Over time, you might even end up in the others person's "stupid box", which really blows. But if you're humble about things, that's where you shine, and that's where your counterpart begins to see you in a new light. The humility, the kindness, and above all else: willing the good of the other, even if it costs you your pride. I've learned it's the best defense against such things as false humility, or a sense of misplaced loyalty, or lack of compensation in some emotional area. It's all too easy to get caught up in the mix, and your counterpart is constantly testing your beliefs against theirs, like two skittles mashed against one another: the stronger skittle wins and moves on to challenge the next one. One of you gives up your conviction for the other's sake, but it isn't (or hopefully isn't, if you're both aiming to become healthy individuals) out of some fickle movement, but rather, out of a deeper sense to improve one's expression of kindness, of humility, of care-giving rather than care-taking. Very challenging, very humbling, and it will cause you to question, and even change, every which way in which you perceive you deserve to be honored. Without any physical way to hash out the built up tension from arguments, feelings of neglect, or other forms of aggression due to lack of affiliation or emotional connection, it can be nearly impossible to sustain a long term or long distance serious relationship. Outside of this scope, no one will ever make to laugh more or laugh harder than your kindred pair when you're both in that state of friendly playfulness. No one better for a partner-in-crime. But as a romantic pairing, nothing short of God's miraculous work between you two. You're both gonna be naturally competitive to one another, and you'll need some kind of game or play or challenge arena, where you get to duke out who gets to be on top next (winner takes all, loser has to xyz kinda deal).b Humility and kindness are key. Never guilt your playmate, it'll destroy them. They'll disappear (or you will, apathy is the enemy), and you can only hope with time that things get better. It's the relationship, in my experience, where you can gain the greatest honors from your mate. But, conversely, if not handled with grace, can also bring the greatest sense of dishonor.
