    After all the videos I've watched learning C1 this is the only one I've found that shows/explains file structure (catalogs vs. sessions) in a manner I could get my head around. Thanks so much Andrea!

    This is very nice! I am definitely going to use this on my upcoming trip. One thing you didn’t go into (or I missed) is how you put the session into your catalog when you get home.

      Thanks, Gabriel! Glad you enjoyed the video. You're right, I didn't mention how to import a session into a catalog since I wanted to focus on just one piece of the workflow. It's something I'll discuss in a future video, for sure. Ciao :)

    Andrea,
    You are helping me better understand the advanced editing tools of C1 to speed up my workflow. I liked how you used custom styles and layers to edit the upper and lower portion of a photo, much like in Photoshop.

    Thank you again for a great video Andrea. You have alot of great tips. Even I have used C1 since version 7 I learn alot from you. I pretty much use the same workflow with session/catalog. Great tips with multiple styles on layers. I see you use floating tools with layers and style/style brushes, thats a great tips too. I tried it and it work fine. And you remind me again to use speed edit which work great.

    • @AndreaLivieriPhoto

      Awesome! Great to hear. Yeah, combining style with layers is such a powerful and unique option in Capture One that many photographers don't use. And, for sure, Speed Edit is brilliant, I can't keep my hands off it :) Thanks as always for watching and commenting! Ciao Tormod

    super ! coming from Lightroom to make tether with sony a7rv, i didn't understand how sessions can be created and managed. Do you have video on tethering sessions ?

    • @AndreaLivieriPhoto
      @AndreaLivieriPhoto  9 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks so much for the comment, Marc! I'm really glad you found the video helpful. I used tethering extensively back in the day when I shot portraits. Nowadays, in travel and landscape photography, I've stopped using it for obvious reasons, so it's unlikely I'll release a video about that :) Ciao

    Hello Andrea, thus far you're the best C1 instructor. I bought your Udemy course. I have a question ? On the Udemy you do not cover "Sessions" You only cover catalogs and collections and folders. So it adds a little to my confusion. I shoot headshots, and I see my sessions as "Sessions" How do I use "sessions" the way you teach in the Udemy course with just catalogs ? Thank you

    • @AndreaLivieriPhoto
      @AndreaLivieriPhoto  10 месяцев назад

      Hi Jerry, thanks for the comment and glad you enjoyed the Udemy class. Catalogs and Sessions are similar but they actually have quite distinct concepts. As you've seen, the class focuses on catalog organization. Sessions, on the other hand, offer a more project-centric approach. So, using keywords in Sessions and the hierarchical system I talked about in the class can have some drawbacks.
      - Keywords used in Sessions remain isolated within that session's folder. This can make it challenging to maintain consistency if you use similar keywords across different projects.
      - Searching for images based on keywords becomes confined to the specific Session. If your work spans multiple Sessions, finding images across projects might become more time-consuming.
      I'm not sure if I fully answered your question. This topic is a bit tricky to discuss in just a comment :) Ciao

    Just wondering have you found or is it possible to select a color tag and star tag at the same time?..for example the photos you like are tagged "red"..but you star some of them 2 or 3. and you only want to select the "red 2 starred ones"..can it do that?..thanks

    • @AndreaLivieriPhoto
      @AndreaLivieriPhoto  Год назад +1

      Hi, yes, it is. You just need to create a Smart Album and on setting criteria you add both the color tag and the star rating you need. Or you can use the Filters tab and select the combination criteria you want by holding down Cmd and tick the label and rating you need. I hope this helps :) Ciao
