- Singer and civil rights activist Harry Belafonte has died at the age of 96. In 1997, 60 Minutes' Ed Bradley spoke with Belafonte about his life and wide-ranging career.

Whoever posted this back onto RUclips, I truly applaud you because he has given so much to the world of civil rights and should be celebrated forever. I enjoyed this interview when he went back home to Jamaica and gave his true appeal to the residents of his homeland especially his aunt who saw his greatness. She herself had longevity and so did he.

I have every album of Mr. Belafonte's but it's humanitarianism that means most to me. There is a great line that ties into this interview from "All In the Family" when Archie tells Meathead that - "Everyone knows that Belafonte isn't Black". If you think of it - he recorded a Calypso album in White 1956 that became the first album to ever sell one million copies.
