Great video, Carl. Everybody on RUclips likes to nerd out with “tacti-cool EDC” and show off their guns, belts and assisted-open unobtanium blade knives. Those things are cool and fun to play with but in reality my EDC is Red Wings, a Leatherman, Sharpie and a pair of Nemesis shaded safety glasses.
@@RLSteffler absolutely, but it’s kinda like that with any hobby. “Beard guys” “sports guys” etc. people tend to dive right in and make it a huge part of their self image.
Great video! I did masonry for 10 years, and your list is spot on. I now work an office job, and my edc has changed drastically. O-Lite rechargeable keychain flashlight. Smart phone, Galaxy Watch6, Spyderco Dragonfly, Bluetooth headphones, wedding ring. Yeah, I know, white collar now. ¡Salud!
bit late but you need a lighter around. never know when you'll roll over something and need to patch your tires and some of those patches you'll need a lighter for.
Cool stuff! I’m a mechanic, I keep it light since 90% of my small stuff stays on my box. But I always have a pocket flashlight on me, right now I have a Streamlight and a Coast which has rubber tips so you can hold it in your teeth. And a knife. I used to keep a multi tool but I don’t use them all the time now and I now use a simple Smith & Wesson black ops knife.
@UncleTravelingMatt2 same ish here top pocket is usually a pocket screwdriver, pen, marker, and the pocket flashlight, pants always has a folding razor knife cobalt one works great cause I can hit the button to close it and able to just flick it out, found I like the Gerber multitool cause you can one hand open, only use the plier function mostly cause sometimes I'm in something and I just need a plier and can't get to my box so it's just easy to grab that from belt to grab or manipulate something, rest of it comes in handy when away from cart and just need to tighten or loosen something quickly
@ I had a Gerber multi tool I used, until it broke. Then I bought a Leatherman and I lost it in someone’s car so now after replacing it I don’t usually use multi tools on me. I’ll take the extra minute to grab the tool I need.
As a young welder and all around fan of EDC and its universe, Im very thankful that I get to grow up with all these amazing tools. Its crazy to think that people thought of this stuff. I too carry a PD25r, Fenix makes great lights that like you said "Just Work." I will say, a Victorinox could be a great addition for many people. I wouldnt want to go anywhere without a toothpick, tweezers, scissors, or phillips driver. A Milwaukee Fastback 6-in-1 and pliers/plier-based multitools are also big for me. I love my SOG Powerpint and Knipex 5in Cobras. Also got a Leatherman Arc on its way and Im hoping I love it too. Great video.
That Bosch laser measure is worth every penny. It saved me so much time when working on my basement. Pairing it with their self leveling laser level is a fantastic combo.
A multi tool is a handy item to have, maybe not the best at all things but it’ll definitely work in a pinch (pun intended). A cheap lighter is also a good tool to carry, even if you don’t smoke. I used mine to burn strings off clothing, melt paracord ends to keep them from splaying and even to cauterize small cuts (it’ll really freak out your coworkers if you do it).
You are right they do come in handy, used to use a lighter to do shrink wrap on wires but by the time it would do it the lighter was redhot, but everyone's things are diff depending on the job, always got a folding utility knife in the pocket
Awesome video as always. I'm an Electrician up in Maine. 100% on the buff/gaiter. Best thing to come out of Covid for me. You can find them in merino wool and it’s surprisingly helpful in the cold. Breaks the draft. Use two wool ones, it’s as warm as a decent cap, and they’ll both take up way less space in the pocket than a hat. Makes a good windlass tourniquet, sun screen. I keep two over the stick shift in my truck. Never not going to have them any more. Thanks Covid!
Great to hear about professionals EDC loadouts. As a mechanic, my daily carry is: Some kind of gshock with a stopwatch, timer, alarms Pocket screwdriver with a magnet and a pocket clip A pen- lately been using Sharpie S-gel 0.5mm Flashlight, rechargeable- I use a Fenix PD35 v2 currently Pocket knife (rotates, have a lot, current the Kizer Drop Bear) Multitool: leatherman charge AL, in a belt sheath, with a bit kit Front pocket wallet
Yeah tried wearing a watch a few times just never worked out kept getting caught in everything, love and hate the pocket screwdrivers, usefulness top grade, magnet good and bad, the trucks I would work on would steal the damn things right out of my pocket, thank God for safety glasses don't know how many times I've almost put my eye out😅
Watched a few of your videos, this is the one that got me to subscribe. Thank you for all the hard work and straight forward videos, I love it! Coming from a Project manager/ sometimes supervisor on Commerical and residential construction. Extremely useful video!!
Having your own ppe is a def bonus, not only is your stuff better than the junk they give you it also adds to the cool factor and makes you less a guber, dont know the model off top of my head but love my snapon ones cause they got a little seal around the eyes so less stuff falling through the gaps, probably got like 20 pairs of glasses some for daily use, some for specialty, some just as spares in the drawer for when i loose them or run over them with a truck...yes ive done that before 😅
I really enjoyed this list. I love that people still use nktebooks. I'm a painter and I carry a zipper wallet with an olight mini, bic pen, write in the rain notebook, and a small titanium pry bar to opening paint cans. Also the Milwaukee 1505 fastback is always on my hip on the job.
Leatherman is the only thing I’d add, and maybe a Klein 11 in 1. I’m a millwright and carry everything you just talked about plus those two things. Nailed it!
I almost always keep a pair of nail clippers in a spare pocket. When it comes to annoying loose strings or cables they are a godsend. Might as well be mini scissors. I'm sure there's some benefit to some special name brand ones, but mine are just some plain, no-name, metal ones. They're easy to use and barely take up any space.
I’m a local truck driver and my edc is gloves, sunglasses, knife, cell phone, Bluetooth headset and a backup, chargers, pen, safety vest and backup, emergency blanket, clipboard, advil, oragel, plastic bags, a couple bottles of water in case of break down, some kinda snack, and a extra E track strap. I carry most of these things in a backpack
Alot of my EDC items I keep in a tray on the side of my tool box. I work in collision repair so I try to avoid items in my pockets. Though on a daily basis not at the shop. I carry a pocket screwdriver/prybar, a knife, then my wallet and phone. I dont carry a flashlight on me but I have a light in my truck and several in my toolbox. As a firefighter. I keep a little toolbag with lots of things. Bit driver set, mini prybar, pocket screwdriver, flashlight, various ppe, and first aid items.
The Milwaukee Fastback has been the best utility knife for me. Unfolds fast, still uses replaceable blades, and has a bit driver that's been very convenient for me a few times at least. It also has a pocket clip and bottle opener. I work in a warehouse so I'm regularly curting cardboard and tape, rarely anything tougher.
brother as a proffesional civil engineer that worked for years in Greece and Scotland, I must tell you that everything that you have in your list are with me everyday for years (differrent brands but same items) add a pencil, a dedicated calculator, buck up earplugs and you could be me on a site! Maybe cause I also have a saved head and facial heair for the past 20 years! nice video and excellent advice about the safety gear's quality. You can also get quality warm safety gloves that go a long way too. Cheers!
Nemesis is what all oilfield and firefighters here in Oklahoma use , Milwaukee 6-1 razor blade , spare 1/4 bits . What I carried in a machine shop was engineering Stanley tape measure .yes a cotton bandanna Leatherman surge and 1/4 bit ratchet . Streamlight stylus pro, ball cap always . Gloves Klein , Milwaukee or maxi gloves,
Great Video, Good Info! I work for a Digital Press manufacturer and my EDC is a tape measure, Sharpie, pen and a utility knife. For situations that may arise I also carry a flashlight, two screw drivers (Micro for glasses repair and a Mossy Oak Multitool. I also have a Gerber Vise. Cheers!
Low Voltage/Data Comm Tech - I carry in a tool pouch on my belt everyday: penlight flashlight, leatherman skeletool knife, sharpies, 11-1 Klein magnetic screwdriver, and electricians scissors. Also carry a role of electrical tape in my pocket and a gerber dime multi tool
My EDC is my Timex Expedition watch, 3 wood pencils, currently using the Amazon Basics ones, they get the job done, and my Old Timer pocket knife, and depending on the time I will ocasionaly add in a pen.
Neck gaiter: I've got quite a few, but the one that's most versatile for me is the Buff merino wool midweight one. I don't have any more hair than Carl, but I've been able to hike in 0- to 20-degree weather with just that over my head, doubled over into a beanie. Yet if it's hot out and you have it on, it's not going to make you overheat. My experience has been that it's basically as warm as it needs to be. But if it IS more likely just going to be used as a rag or lightweight head covering, etc., then don't spend on merino wool. It's not really expensive, but you're just as good going to the fishing department at Walmart and getting something there for less than $10. As was mentioned, this is just a tube of cloth with a little stretch to it. Don't overthink it. 🤣 Take care.
In my meager edc I have a little 2 metre tape measure, I don’t even require it for my job but somehow it proves itself incredibly useful time and again. Thanks for the vid Carl!
Just ordered my first EDC light thanks to you Carl! I've been waiting for a good recommendation for one and here you are. Always the best advice on this channel. Thanks again!
Everyday I carry gerber mini pry knife. Small olight flashlight. And a bandana. I’m making a different type of bandana. When I have some made I want to send you some to see what you think. Great video!
I'm now white collar in IT (read: sell out) but I always carried a Leatherman (or such multi tool) on me back in my blue collar days. Allowed for multiple EDC tools in a small package (esp. knife and pliers).
I own self storage with my wife but also a stay at home dad. If I’m doing my rounds at the storages it’s a Milwaukee 1505 Fisher Space Pen Field Notes Knipex Pliers Wrench 125mm Hoto 24-1 Precision Driver In a Alpaka Zip pouch for some cash. A can of spray dry lube and chain oil (for fences). In my pocket a SAK Super Tinker, Alpaka PopUp card wallet. If I’m doing more corrosive work a Syderco Salt2 Syperedge Wharncliffe in LC200N. Carhartt Tool roll in the truck with various hand tools and small ratchet set. Multimeter, soldering kit, inexpensive Bosch laser measure. Boots Jim Green Razorbacks. Patagonia Ranch jacket on the cold days. Truewerk M2 zip hoodie and whatever Levi’s I’m wearing at the time or the Truewek T1s; Eddie Bauer Lined Guide Pro pants for when it’s below freezing. Various other bits and bobs that I have gathered over the years to my life easier.
I carry a Buck, Streamlight, Victorinox rambler and a pen everyday. They have stood the test of time and have been reliable and durable for me. After watching this I think I’m going to start carrying a notepad again I stopped some years ago, not sure when, and adding a bandana or other cloth. Good video. Thanks. Edit: the Edge polarized safety glasses have worked well for me.
I carry a Stanley 99E knife (similar to your green Stanley) and it's an absolute godsend. My light is a Milwaukee L4PWL301. The magnet and pivot head is a game changer. Lastly, a generic tape measure holder for a tool belt I put on my regular belt. Perfect for my M18 impact driver.
enjoyed the video and seeing EDC from a blue collar lens. I am more white collar, but I can say I carry some of the same things. A flashlight incase something is dropped under the desk, a pen always (love Fisher's Space Pen), I carry a Vosteed Corgi as my pocket knife, and I definitely have a handkerchief with me for wiping down general spills and what not. Thanks for the video!
I recently picked up a rechargeable magnetic Milwaukee light. Nice strong 20 pound magnet on the top, battery lasts 2 hours on high. 4 on low. Perfect for service technicians or people who need a hands free light.
I’m a PM now. Now a days, write in the rain tiny notepad, write in the rain bolt action pen with space pen refil, bench made griptilion, Milwaukee markzall, nitecore edc27 (newest addition), fat max 16’, and prescription safety glass that my company pays for. I used to carry a Lenox utility knife, and leatherman multi tool, but when I moved up I didn’t need those tools much. Then of course the bag filled with chargers, iPad, laptop, extra batteries, battery charger cables, and quick fix medical stuff.
Absolutely loved my Fenix, apparently I wasn’t the only one since it grew legs. I’ve been using olight and ace beam lately. For the price, I’m pretty happy with ace beam, and have been pretty surprised how useful I found their 90° light. For me it’s knife, flashlight, tape measure and marker. In my backpack I make sure to always have planner, notebook and pen.
I always have a pocket knife, a multitool and a flashlight on me. I put those in my pocket in the morning and take them out at night. The tool items like tape measures and such are in my tool backpack and I always bring that in for service calls.
Nice, a realistic EDC video. I just found and jumped into the EDC not long ago and really, I'm about done with it because it seems to revolve more around burly dude fashion accessories and social media clout over anything else. This is refreshing.
The tiny pocket flathead screwdrivers from snap-on i always have one on me!, just a roll of electrical tape you always need some. A sharpy to mark things your working on like dimentions. A good pair of working gloves for cold, sharp or dirty objects
I work new install HVAC and find myself in a lot of dark places like attics or crawl spaces, I carry a tape measure, utility knife, flashlight, all surface marker normally. Main thing is you have to have a knife, at my job sometimes a coworker will “knife check” you and when you go to the John they zip tie the door closed, no knife you’re just stuck in there lol
Use my Bosch laser rule and Fenix flashlight everyday on the job. I carry the PD36R now, but my first was the TK16, with many in between. Great lights!
I’m a union machine operator. Here’s what I use the most: 1. PPE (eyes, ears, hands, feet, etc) 2. Knife 3. Flashlight 4. Adjustable tool 5. Phone (take pics in tight spaces, look up notes, etc)
Great video. I carry the olight Baton 3 Pro or warrior 3s, leatherman Rebar, Gerber EAB, zebra 301 pen and 3.25"x4.5" mini composition book from Dollar Tree. These stitched books are tough, fit in the K87 pocket and they are cheap (3 for $1.25). Plus G-Shock square or garmin instinct watch.
In terms of flashlight I can NOT say this enough... I LOVE my Streamlight ProTac 1L-1AA... First off, $45 on Amazon regular, frequently available on sale for less. Secondly, two way clip so you can carry it lens down but put it on the brim of your cap or hard hat. Third, these things are damn near indestructible... I've used it in rain, it works, I've dropped it in two feet of water, kept working, I've dropped it off a second story catwalk onto a warehouse concrete floor, still works... BEST part though, it can take 123, AA, or AAA batts which means if I'm working somewhere where the nearest WalMart is an hour away and the only place to get batteries is a Doller General or gas station, it doesn't matter what they have in stock I can pick up batteries for it.
I like a folding ruler. It's very common in Germany. It's like ten 20 cm wood rulers connected together with hinges, making one neat, 1.5 cm wide, 5 cm tall and 25 cm long stack when folded. The fact that it acts like a folding stick as well as come in handy so many times in my job as a theatre technician. When I need to get a cable to a place that I can't reach so someone can grab it there, I typically tie it to the end of my folding ruler and use it to "hand over" the cable. When a dropped screw decides to roll underneath something that's just off the ground, a quick sweep with my folding ruler is alI need to do to get it back. It also works for approximating a spacing that you can't even see in a pinch. Ofc, it's also useful for typical measuring and marking tasks. One example for such a task where it just can't be replaced is evenly spacing lighting fixtures I put on the floor. I'll calculate that I need a let's say 160cm spacing, I extend my folding ruler to that and I've got a spacing stick that I can slide around on the floor for quickly aligning things. Because everyone's posting their edc here, here's mine (as I often complete little tasks in "remote" places in the building (up on a lift, a work gallery or the grid) that might unexpectedly require tools, having a small, but useful toolkit in my pockets is invaluable, so it's quite a lot for an on-person edc): - keys (including bottle opener) - flashlight (RovyVon Aurora A5; it's side lightand clip allow for hands-free illumination as well) - phone - pens (favourite ballpoint, "rental" ballpoint (because I always get asked for a pen and people like to keep/break them), erasable pen, dual-tip sharpie and a water-soluble pen - a small pen-shaped 4 in 1 screwdriver with a magnet in the end - a folding utility knife (Gerber EAB Edge) - wallet - Leatherman Wave - plastic carabiner for rubber loops that are used for fixating cables - gloves - tissues - in-ear monitors (Shure SE215; useful for mixing when there are no headphones at the board and for connecting to the radio as headphones) - electrical tape - a key lanyard with a carabiner on it's end that I keep looped around my belt in order to hold a roll or two of tape if needed - some 4mm (?) cord - notebook - card holder - NCV tester (incredibly handy for troubleshooting, should not be used for testing if a circuit is dead prior to working on it) - adjustable wrench (I've been thinking about the Knipex plier wrench but I really love using my adjustable ones fpr measuring diameters) - watch (Cadio F-91W) - cabinet key - microfibre cloth (I despise fingerprints on screens) - USB drives - ear plugs - USB-C to USB-A adapter (to use said drives with my laptop that is type c only) - folding ruler - radio (if the work calls for it, which is every day we have an event going on, so most days during the main season) I'm planning to add a 10/13/17/19mm quad ratcheting spanner as well.
My vest at work the things I absolutely carry 100% of the time is: 30ft tape measure, laser measure, Milwaukee two in one knife and screwdriver, pair of leather gloves, 4 pens a lazer pointer two pencils one on the best one on the hard hat and a headlamp on the hard hat notebook and iPad I’m a carpenter Forman
You should review the Hi Vis Safety neon yellow and gray buffalo plaid flannel! I saw a local construction guy wearing one on a job site. I've never seen anything like it!
I absolutely need a bright, precise and compact flashlight working in an auto parts store. Just as much I need a small, sharp, folding pocket knife because I refuse to use a utility knife for everything, but that doesn't keep me from carrying a fixed blade CRKT on my belt too.
Regarding flashlights, I have had all the overseas brands, as well as made in USA Streamlights. But there is a great brand called Malkoff. It is run by Gene Malkoff and his family, and IMO they make hands down the best flashlights and personal service to boot. Although they are not cheap, they are not ridiculous. Maybe consider doing a video about them one day.
I have a level handy. My department is responsible for our 500k sq ft office space. More than once I’ve used it to check work of a vendor as it progresses. My second most used item is a thermometer. People always complain about there temperature in their space. I’m able to evaluate the temperature change over several days to make corrections with the building engineers.
I carry a 16ft Stanley tape measure in Occidental tape holster, ripoffs small 2 pocket holster for my mechanical pencil, sharpie, & carpenter pencil. square in pocket. Im retired & build Adirondack chairs & cedar stuff
Do commercial carpentry work, excavation of footers, to concrete forms, to walls, all the way to finish work at project turn over. Tape measure and folding utility knife, anything more than that and you should have your tool bags on or a tool cart…..I’m my opinion😂
Went to check the Big Ideas utility knife, and the $175 price tag was a little bit of an ouch. I prefer a razor blade of some sort to open boxes instead of my knife. I settled on these little Olfa disposable “Touch Knifes” which are about the size of a half dollar. They work perfectly for boxes, though not so much for drywall. You buy them by the dozen.
If you do like the size and shape of the big idea TPT slide, Walmart has a Hart brand that is very comparable. And it's a 2 pack for just under 9 dollars! I carry one almost daily
I'm an electrician/instrument technician and carry a pocket protector that holds a death stick, terminal screwdriver, 2 colors of pen, a sharpie, a highlighter, and a streamlight pen sized light. Then I have a small notebook in my other chest pocket and a knife. Everyone likes to make fun of the pocket protector, but I'd be list without it lol
I have and carry everything but the tape. BUT..... I always keep one in the car. I am a videographer, so I also have a 4 mm allen key in every bag, and my ear buds.
I am currently working in a warehouse. The only product I truly need is a decent utility blade, since the cutter that my company provides does barely cut anything. Also, a bandana might be useful...
As a handyman My EDC is Beside my Gerber multitool, my flashlight Mini channel locks And a reversible screwdriver, tape measure That’s my basic everyday thing…
Carl I have a question and honestly I just picked your latest video to ask. I have been scrolling and scrolling through your feed, which video do you try on and showcase the collab you did with Heat Straps doing the waxed lumber jacket? The green and tan one.
I'm a US Coast Guard airplane mechanic My EDC is Leatherman super tool Streamlight flashlight A pair of reusable earplugs Reusable Glasses wipe Regular pen and grease pencil Screw grab (graphite paste for stripped screws)
For me my regular EDC is seperate from my work carry, but also because my regular EDC is small pocketable items they carry over and are also in my pocket at work in addition to the things I carry on my belt.
Fisher space pen is my go-to for whenever I need to write on something while I'm underwater and upside down! BTW, the links for the two other pens seem to be defunct.
I guess it doesn't really count as EDC but for me the number 1 must-have are good quality, comfortable work boots. This is not an area for economizing - buy good quality boots and not only will you be comfortable working but years down the line your feet, legs and back will thank you for it.
When it comes to tape measures, I don't like the 30 / 35 foot ones as the springs always die really early compared to a 25 foot. If I need over 25 feet, I'm grabbing a surveying tape
am photographer/videographer , since i often have to fix stuff ,when working i carry a victorinox , a plier multitool , a bike alen multitool , a folding utility blade , a tester screwdriver , and some precision screwdrivers , flash light , pen , a marker , zip ties , electrical tape and a compass just to know wher the sun gone be when shooting on location , ,many of thos stay in my bag or pouch just in case , on normal day just my victorinox and keychain flashlight ,
Worked in building for 20+ years. If I don't have my belt or box on me I carry 6 things: keys, wallet and phone, Kershaw Barge, torch and a cheap surge clone/SAK.
I think this is the first edc video I've ever seen where some deluded outdoorsman doesn't tell people they absolutely need to carry around paracord, water filtration, and a fire starter. Also going to add that I have no need for a tape measure in my daily or professional life. Not because I don't need a measuring device but because I'm a machinist so I keep calipers and a starrett 6 inch rule with me all the time.
I carry knife, a multi tool, flash light, pen, note pad, lighter, chap stick, small thing of vics same size as the chap stick, watch, dip. on my person. in my bag I have the icon bit kit, a small 1/4" socket set, a set of stubby wrenchs, and my wife just ordered me the knipex pliers wrench and cobra pliers 5". at my job ( I put 70 hrs aweek) I use these things several times a week. the company has the tools, but they are locked up. I'd have to call maintenance and wait until they came to get the tool and fix whatever problem I had. that wait could be 5 minutes to hours.
I always carry my wallet, Case pocket knife, phone and copenhagen in pants pockets, but my vest for work I have a Phillips and flat head pocket screwdriver, klien laser/flashlight, 6ft milwaukee tape measure, 16ft tape measure, pen, regular sharpie, fine point sharpie, reamer pen, level with no dog and a small no dog
I use the Bosch laser measure for estimating measurements during site visits. It says it can measure up to 165’. After about 110’ I can’t see the red laser dot. So, you could save a few bucks and get the 100’ one.

@bunnysuitlewds126 I know how to change a tire and got AAA if needed. Lighter is a good tool, but not an edc for me.
I love my Stanley 10-499. It has that old-school aluminum look with a few hints of bright yellow to easily locate it when I misplace it.
Cool stuff! I’m a mechanic, I keep it light since 90% of my small stuff stays on my box. That Bosch laser measure is worth every penny. It saved me so much time when working on my basement. Pairing it with their self leveling laser level is a fantastic combo.
The laser level is well built, you trust it? I've been looking for one. It would really help on DIY projects
@@adamkreuz9068 I use it all the time. It’s never steered me wrong

They are good I got a few of the cheap nylon stretch ones cause working underneath stuff it keeps grease chunks and debris from getting in my hair
The green face on your Oris Aquis is totally popping against the Carhartt camo shirt. Love it!
Great to hear about professionals EDC loadouts.
As a mechanic, my daily carry is:
Some kind of gshock with a stopwatch, timer, alarms
Pocket screwdriver with a magnet and a pocket clip
A pen- lately been using Sharpie S-gel 0.5mm
Flashlight, rechargeable- I use a Fenix PD35 v2 currently
Pocket knife (rotates, have a lot, current the Kizer Drop Bear)
Multitool: leatherman charge AL, in a belt sheath, with a bit kit
Front pocket wallet
Yeah tried wearing a watch a few times just never worked out kept getting caught in everything, love and hate the pocket screwdrivers, usefulness top grade, magnet good and bad, the trucks I would work on would steal the damn things right out of my pocket, thank God for safety glasses don't know how many times I've almost put my eye out😅
Watched a few of your videos, this is the one that got me to subscribe. Thank you for all the hard work and straight forward videos, I love it! Coming from a Project manager/ sometimes supervisor on Commerical and residential construction. Extremely useful video!!
I really appreciate that, glad it resonated with you!
I always keep a first aid kit in my vehicle. Great video! Carl.
Good tip! You dont need one until its too late!
Oh, and don’t forget the jump box so you can get your car started and charge your phone when you need too.
@@tomcollins3227 those have gotten so much better since the old days. They used to be the size of a suitcase!
@@CarlMurawski Oh yeah I remember.
@@CarlMurawski Suitcase on wheels!
Neck gaiter:
I've got quite a few, but the one that's most versatile for me is the Buff merino wool midweight one.
Take care.
If I’m doing my rounds at the storages it’s a
Milwaukee 1505
Fisher Space Pen
Field Notes
Knipex Pliers Wrench 125mm
Hoto 24-1 Precision Driver
In a Alpaka Zip pouch for some cash.
Milwaukee fastback is probably one of the greatest utility knife’s i have ever bought
Love all my Fenix flashlights. They have been my go-to for several years now.
Great video. I carry a Streamlight Protac 2L-X, Leatherman Skeletool and Zebra X701 pen and a mini notepad. Good for most of my day to day tasks.
Always have my Garmin Tactix 7 on my wrist. Not only does it do all of the health tracking, but it has maps, and an actual flashlight built in.
I do trim with a Bosch laser measure. I highly recommend it
The milwakee fast back is my favorite utility blade I have the version that has a bit holder and it's so useful
Use my Bosch laser rule and Fenix flashlight everyday on the job. I carry the PD36R now, but my first was the TK16, with many in between. Great lights!
I’m a union machine operator. Here’s what I use the most:
1. PPE (eyes, ears, hands, feet, etc)
2. Knife
3. Flashlight
4. Adjustable tool
In my case i Would replace the flashligth with a stubby ph2 screwdriver.
I work has a cabinet maker
Great video man!
Greetins from Argentina
Because everyone's posting their edc here, here's mine (as I often complete little tasks in "remote" places in the building (up on a lift, a work gallery or the grid) that might unexpectedly require tools, having a small, but useful toolkit in my pockets is invaluable, so it's quite a lot for an on-person edc):
- keys (including bottle opener)
- flashlight (RovyVon Aurora A5; it's side lightand clip allow for hands-free illumination as well)
- phone
- pens (favourite ballpoint, "rental" ballpoint (because I always get asked for a pen and people like to keep/break them), erasable pen, dual-tip sharpie and a water-soluble pen
- a small pen-shaped 4 in 1 screwdriver with a magnet in the end
- a folding utility knife (Gerber EAB Edge)
- wallet
- Leatherman Wave
- plastic carabiner for rubber loops that are used for fixating cables
- gloves
- tissues
- in-ear monitors (Shure SE215; useful for mixing when there are no headphones at the board and for connecting to the radio as headphones)
- electrical tape
- a key lanyard with a carabiner on it's end that I keep looped around my belt in order to hold a roll or two of tape if needed
- some 4mm (?) cord
- notebook
- card holder
- NCV tester (incredibly handy for troubleshooting, should not be used for testing if a circuit is dead prior to working on it)
- adjustable wrench (I've been thinking about the Knipex plier wrench but I really love using my adjustable ones fpr measuring diameters)
- watch (Cadio F-91W)
- cabinet key
- microfibre cloth (I despise fingerprints on screens)
- USB drives
- ear plugs
- USB-C to USB-A adapter (to use said drives with my laptop that is type c only)
- folding ruler
- radio (if the work calls for it, which is every day we have an event going on, so most days during the main season)
I'm planning to add a 10/13/17/19mm quad ratcheting spanner as well.
Absolutely loving these videos Carl! That Bosch laser is gonna be a game changer
Always enjoy these types of videos from you
Glad to hear it!
Yes maglite mini now comes in led my go to is still a mini Pro.
I do have olight and nitecore flash lights but I always go back to maglite.
I carry everything you showed and a good multi tool .
Oh great... what's carl going to get me to buy now?😂
The big idea designs pocket slide.
I work and sometimes wear a blue collar with my suit. So I'm lumping myself in the category for these 9 needed EDCs
As a handyman
My EDC is
Beside my Gerber multitool, my flashlight
Mini channel locks
And a reversible screwdriver, tape measure
That’s my basic everyday thing…
I am getting in to the trades and I'm only 16 what would be some things you'd think that'll be beneficial for me in construction
An Education & do something else.
Carl I have a question and honestly I just picked your latest video to ask. I have been scrolling and scrolling through your feed, which video do you try on and showcase the collab you did with Heat Straps doing the waxed lumber jacket? The green and tan one.
I'm east texas oilfield we all wear Oakley glasses exits a saftey glasses standard here.
Thanks for the love man!! Fun fact, the TPT slide is patented
Thanks for the info, I love this damned thing!
I'm a US Coast Guard airplane mechanic
My EDC is
Leatherman super tool
Streamlight flashlight
A pair of reusable earplugs
Reusable Glasses wipe
Regular pen and grease pencil
Screw grab (graphite paste for stripped screws)
For me my regular EDC is seperate from my work carry, but also because my regular EDC is small pocketable items they carry over and are also in my pocket at work in addition to the things I carry on my belt.
Fisher space pen is my go-to for whenever I need to write on something while I'm underwater and upside down!
BTW, the links for the two other pens seem to be defunct.
A laser measure is something I never think I need until I see someone use one.
Hahaha thats how I got my first one too. I kept thinking "damn, what a good idea!".
Alright but where did you find that camo Carhartt shirt. Never seen em before and I wear Carhartt everyday
New video on a Friday! Yay!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Hearing Pro is a must!
Where is your trifield meter??lol, good video bud!
am photographer/videographer , since i often have to fix stuff ,when working i carry a victorinox , a plier multitool , a bike alen multitool , a folding utility blade , a tester screwdriver , and some precision screwdrivers , flash light , pen , a marker , zip ties , electrical tape and a compass just to know wher the sun gone be when shooting on location , ,many of thos stay in my bag or pouch just in case , on normal day just my victorinox and keychain flashlight ,
Awesome video! I would add safety gloves if you work in like a farm or a place where you need to touch dangerous stuff, better be safe than sorry
Worked in building for 20+ years. If I don't have my belt or box on me I carry 6 things: keys, wallet and phone, Kershaw Barge, torch and a cheap surge clone/SAK.
And a mini Leatherman or squirt on my key chain, best tool ever.
I'm a farmer so only a tractor, a knife, and a van full of tools 😂
I think this is the first edc video I've ever seen where some deluded outdoorsman doesn't tell people they absolutely need to carry around paracord, water filtration, and a fire starter.
Also going to add that I have no need for a tape measure in my daily or professional life. Not because I don't need a measuring device but because I'm a machinist so I keep calipers and a starrett 6 inch rule with me all the time.
Honestly never noticed before but Carl got the wide body kit going on
Hahahaha it helps with cornering.
I like the o-light with the laser, flashlight so I can point to stuff my subs did wrong without getting a ladder.
Electrical tester all construction workers should have.
IT pro for a school. I usual need my flashlight, pen & pad, laptop & USB-C cable.
Curious about your watch. Looks like an Oris. If so how do you like it? Thanks again
Good eye, it is in fact an Oris Aquis
Where did you get that camo T-shirt???
I use the Bosch laser measure for estimating measurements during site visits. It says it can measure up to 165’. After about 110’ I can’t see the red laser dot. So, you could save a few bucks and get the 100’ one.
I wonder if its still accurate if you go with the 100' model. Bosch is typically very good with their measuring devices though.
