I had never played zealot up until a week or so ago even though i've played for almost 400 hours. Had to play him because im working on the all career legend frame and fuck me he instantly became one of my favourites (although griffon BH is probably my fave saltz). Billhook has amazing horde control, the special is immensely useful and you just do a fuck ton of damage. My friend wanted to play something else so i suggested he play billhook zealot and after getting into it he also became a billhook connoisseur, it's just so nice.
@@WetMagic Mainstay is trash, Enhanced Power is so close in damage plus comes with better range damage, more cleave, more stagger power that it outshines Mainstay in all situations. The only viable stagger talents are anything but Mainstay and Bulwark, Assassin being the best overall, Smiter being next best for those heavy hitting weapons then Enhanced power if either of those 2 aren't available. Bulwarks problem is the bonus damage buff is too small and doesn't last long enough, if the damage buff was 15% and duration 3 seconds, now we are talking (which is a mod you can get on Modded Realm), but 10% and 2 seconds is trash. Also Stagger 2 on CW doesn't last too long, can be difficult to hit those Heavy 1 attacks to the head on time after using special attack.
Only problem with Zealot is that it's impossible to play right with bots on your team and noobs who heal you, and you have to try and explain and they still don't get it lol, I'm always reluctant to pick him for normal games, if full team comp sure, but if no one is on, will never use him. WHC tbh is better overall anyway due to crit headshots so no big deal, just going to take a long time to hit 100 games for the hat reward. Also don't like playing him with a Grail Knight due to chance of health regeneration, perfect if it isn't one of the choices but if it is, just pure pain lol
So I’m kinda new to vermintide and just started playing zealot literally today but I wanted to double check something. Is the enhanced power talent obsolete once you reach 650 with a character?
I did a true solo once as shade just for the heck of it and even though I beat it and everything I have to say I really didn’t enjoy it at all. I like this game for it’s team play and interesting combinations. I also think I personally play better when I’m having fun. Trying that hard at something that I think is meant to be fun is just not appealing at all to me. Sorry 😁
@@WetMagic understood, just thought to ask cause ive learned alot from watching your videos. So i thought if you were to attempt the flail solo. I might learn some new tech. Only reason why i asked but thanks anyway.
I completely forgot that TP counts as healing. So I would always set Armour of Faith as my level 20 skill. Now that I know that Holy Fortitude works with TP. Do I want 10% damage reduction, or almost double temp health? Yeah definitely using Fortitude now
Is it just me, or do I just love using Natural Bond on Zealot? I think it just gives me more sustainability though I do play Legend/Champion more often than not
It does make you pretty tanky which is a good thing. However, that tankyness comes at a price. You of course miss out on damage and attack speed sometimes. Which kinda sucks imo. If you don’t mind not reaching your full damage potential then it’s a fair option I suppose. I just don’t think he needs more survivability when he’s got his stacks.
That's dumb for standard Zealot builds, the idea is to be at low Green HP to get full buff from your Fiery Faith Passive and Attack Speed Buff from Castigate. There are 3 ways you can go about getting THP, you can go: Full THP farm with Holy Fortitude + Boon of Shallya (I don't recommend this) Holy Fortitude + Barkskin (used to use this) Armour of Faith + Barkskin (full tank, slow to get THP but when you do, pretty much as tanky as Iron Breaker) Or my favourite combo: Armour of Faith + Boon of Shallya. Why? Cus permanent 30% DR is great plus + 30% more THP generation helps quite a bit, I find this combo to be superior to Holy Fortitude + Barkskin as sure THP generation is not quite as good, but Barkskin doesn't apply to 1st hit. Best build for standard Billhook build is: 1 (more consistent, works all the time) 1 (attack speed buff) 1or3 (Smiter for Elites, EP for Hoards) 3 (permanent DR = permanent higher effective Health, also makes Boon of Shallya more efficient due to higher effective HP) 2 (let a hit on purpose or not come through to restore stamina) 3 (Ult more often for that lovely attack speed boost). Alamo remember if you are in Death State (where next time you go down, you die), just use a med bag to hel someone else and you will no longer be in Death State
@@berenoftheedain5133 In Weaves and other really hard shit, the non standard Zealot build is used, like undying build where you just wanna run as fast as you can, or really fast enough and have unlimited ults with Feel Nothing if you know how to do it correctly, doesn't require stacks all the time.
I like gromril plated shots with leading shots & enhanced power for solid short, mid-mid longish range for special & elite killing. Armour piercing slugs for narrow maps like hunger in the dark works really well also. You can gun maulers down pretty easy, shred storm vermin, and staggger chaos chosen warriors , but the damage against chaos chosen warriors isn’t as good as it is against maulers obviously. The thing with outcast engineer is that YOU have to constantly be aware of where your team is, cause you don’t wanna be that guy who expects your team to stop and wait & watch your flanks for you to open up and lay down fire, push with you team and be constantly aware while activity opening up your crank gun on targets

I feel like zealots biggest counters are waystalker, grail knight, and bots.
Not waystalkers..Kerillian in general, with both the volley or the javellin.
those strength pots taste so good tho
The billhook's special puts enemies into level 2 stagger so you might miss out on some breakpoints by chosing smiter over mainstay
That’s a fair point to bring up, but I would definitely still prefer smiter overall.

200 hours in game and never really had a problem with newbies.
But for some reason, in my recent games, the idiots have arrived…
So I’m kinda new to vermintide and just started playing zealot literally today but I wanted to double check something. Is the enhanced power talent obsolete once you reach 650 with a character?
That's only ever used for range-specific characters, for melee characters any other talent there does better.
Tru solo zealot+flail...thatll be really impressive!

Oh THAT'S why Fortitude is useful. Goddamn, I guess I should swap that out.
Do you have any thoughts on the mod Tourney Balance Testing?
hey, you recently said, that sister of thorn got nerfed would the build still look the same?
It could. You could also run the 3 ults and not have to feel bad about giving up inheritance. Either choice is solid.
@@WetMagic thanks, will try that
What weapon should i take if i don't have any dlc's but want to stay effective?
flail, rapier, or falchion are all solid
If you wanna play this game for a long time, really get into it,.just get all the DLC's, so worth it
@Tan Ask the question again with more context, have no idea what you are asking
This is not a fast enough zealot-
2/10

In my opinion if you don't care about his stacks why even play him. But to each there own

Is that a modded UI for inventory?
I have trouble building temp health with billhook. Are you sure that's the best level 5 talent?
isnt that uhhh a default optimal zealot build?
Hes allways usimg a default build and give it a special name
It’s just what I would use. That’s how I do builds.
