I drilled holes in the horizontal beams to fit the bars through. I think they were 1/2" or 3/4" or something. The bars slid right through, I didn't fasten them at all, if u were to lean on the vertical board, it would bow, so u don't wan to lean too much pressure on it. To attach the bottom slots, I drilled the same holes but only drilled then half way through the board, so they'd stay in position, but u could drill all the way through those too, it'd just be more if a pain if u have to move it.
Yes that lighting video is awesome! Always looking for diy and micro budget elements for various projects too. Keep in touch. God bless, Keith. Jersey Boyz Films
This is freaken awesome bro!!! We've been looking for locations like theres no tomorrow but I think we're gonna go this route... it's cheaper!!! Thanks!!!
If I didn't have the cement wall, what I would do is buy foam core and make my own cement wall; paint it with texture paint to look like rock(home depot has these; similar to the texture on the bars); Once you paint the rough texture, it it's not the right color, paint grey over it. You could even get creative and paint cracks and lines to look like large stones.Light it well, and it will look pretty good for the shoot.
Do you have a list and photographs of all the pieces, or a raw photo (not from the music video) of the jail cell? where does the major expenses come in? PVC pipes are 1.25 each.
Thanks, Keith! I'm glad someone as crazy as me got something out of it!:) You have great lighting tips on your video, great mini blinds effect, that blew me away! I'll have to use that in a music video sometime!
Thanks for blowing out my eardrums with the lack of sound control! Damn!! A video about how to build a prison cell, without actually showing you how to build a cell. Waste of time.
Thanks for the video! I have been looking for something like this for a prison film project I've been working on. If you want to take a look I have a link to our Inde Go Go Page here that talks about the film. igg.me/at/forgiveness-film/x/5255121
