Time for the story. All my team was weak to the water type elite four member, he consistently destroyed my entire team. But on a much later attempt I defeated all of his pokemon except for his god forsaken Starmie, I down to only Greninja and my other all my pokemon were weak to it in some way, so revive weren't an option. The Starmie was at about half health and my Greninja was just one attack away from fainting. I accepted my fate and randomly chose hydro pump as my attack, not only did it hit, but it was a critical hit and instantly defeated the Starmie. I know it doesn't sound special, but that one attack was the whole reason I beat the elite four.
For some reason this elite four was the hardest for me probably bc this was my first Pokemon game and i probably had like 3 fire types with really bad types but man i got nervous bc it was hard for me just to get the the champions
To be completely honest, you could cut the "battle" out of that sentence and it'd still be insanely accurate. For all of XY's faults, the soundtrack was as close to perfect as you can get.

I ate shit to the elite four, I said it. tbh I was playing most this game like a newby (bc I was) just using power moves and nothing stat, I was like 9 tho and pretty sure this was my first video game on a console ever. Only game experience I had besides that was minecraft and... idfk uhh flash games.

Feels like a natural evolution of the Gym Leader theme. Cool stuff. Not my favorite E4 theme overall but probably upper half
