Thank you so much! I was actually an English teacher for seven years before I became a librarian. I enjoyed teaching, but I did not enjoy all of the paper grading! Being a librarian is definitely where it's at!

It's the Demco planner for librarians. :) It was designed by a librarian! Last year was the first year she did and she got a lot of feedback, so she changed it to make it even better this year. I love it, but I don't always have time to use it, unfortunately.
My first job was as a High School media assistant. It was fun and I feel that I did a good job. Should have tried to stay in this part of the library field. Public Libraries did not work for me because it was an inner city situation. Became a museum professional and a classroom teacher. You have a good attitude and it would have been good to work with you.
I think you should keep doing this method with your books you want to discard leave them outside of the cart everyday till they are all gone also if they still been there for days maybe another thing you can do is sell them online or maybe have a yard sale at your house and sell them if you have time or just keep leaving them outside on the cart for students to take home I like your method of discarding your books instead of throwing them away and I wish this happened with my high school librarien with library binding manga honestly I would have wanted to take them home with me but they are still on the shelves at the library the librarien at my school probably did not want to get rid of them because people still check out the books but I regret not ever asking her if she would get rid of them because majority of the library binding manga they are missing some volumes probably because students either lost the book or they wanted to keep it and never returned them so honestly I think the librarien at my school did this maybe if I asked maybe she would have let me take them home but it's already too late because I already graduated from the high school I was at I would honestly want to visit my high school just so I can ask the librarien if there is any manga she wants to get rid of I can take them home with me but I don't know if my school would allow me to visit as I have heard of school shootings happening In schools and I heard on news one time I think years ago that students need to wear clear backpacks so they can make sure there are no guns or they cannot bring backpacks I think so my high school probably has rules about people visiting the school or they won't allow visits anymore though I can see why if they don't allow visits because school shootings have been happening which is not good. Also another thing I was thinking I would also want to work at my high school library as maybe a library assistant but possibly there might not be a option open for that or if there is maybe for free or getting paid would be better as that was something I was interested in doing If I do end up going to my high school library. Or maybe being a librarien but there's not that many openings to be a librarien maybe only 1 I've seen open but that's a maybe.

8 HS classes that insane, most states have 4-6 classes for HS
You deserve a break for your hard work for your students
Thankfully, it is just on Fridays that we have 8 classes. We have block scheduling the rest of the week with only four classes per day. :)

Unfortunately, not yet. I plan on ordering lots of fun things for the makerspace (including some board games) for our new building next year. :)
