To put this in perspective. I just wrote a press release for a client literally this afternoon. Including research, thinking, writing, two rounds of editing, a few calls to the client for input, some tweeks from my boss, approval from my boss, final draft to the client, his edits, his approval, formatting, adding a photo and two logos (more formatting), and boom ready to go to be emailed to the media...it took less than 1 1/2 hours.

@@globalforce Well, yes. Plus it's a client I really like (a quadriplegic who runs his own charity). But I'm also working on other things...and the press release wasn't a 'disaster'. PR shit like this get's top priority. It took them what, 3 days to respond officially? And the response was a non-response?
That's...bizarrely pathetic. I'd say 'fire your agency/VP' but sheesh this is their typical response...like it's company policy. No one's getting fired because they are doing what they are supposed to do. Even the nice ones. Even the ones that seem like they care. Just a different way of enforcing the same policy, imo. How many of these events have happened to WG in the past 5 years? How many times have they led to real, positive change? (hint, the answers are not infrequently and zero).

@@Ocrilat It seems like the fundamental attitude of Russian or Russia-adjacent developers is a lot less consumer friendly; I've seen this kind of attitude with companies like Eagle Dynamics (DCS developer) and I suppose one could link that with Russian approach to customer service in general, which seems to be: "I have a product or a service, you buy it and don't expect me to kowtow to your every whim."

@@globalforce Maybe. But that isn't what this is...and that isn't what they are doing here.
I've worked with Russians too...and I like their straightforwardness. They also tend to work their asses off (and when not working...play their asses off). This lazy, weaselly incompetence of WG isn't what I'm used to. They had a big success with World of Tanks. Now that is a shadow of what it was, wrecked through their incompetence and short-term thinking. They tried to make other games. Most were failures, and some were expensive failures (like World of Warplanes v. 1 and 2). World of Warships was a minor success...that they now seem determined to milk dry too.
It's a weird thing to watch, especially as a marketing/pr professional. Weird but interesting.

@@cookiesupervisor2211 Its probably better to look at it like this. Once a game developer becomes large enough, the CC or community voices that helped at the start become less important, as the game can support and grow on its own.
At that point the important of community outreach, like CCs becomes less and less important to them from a purely monetary standpoint.
Depending on the viewpoints of the execs of the company, they may choose to continue this relationship as positively as in the start, or lessen their community contribution in favor of more and more short term monetary gains, similarly to how wargaming has done here.
I guess what I am saying is, it depends on the person or people in charge and how morally bankrupt they want to be for more monetary growth.

I did some counting about how much money could mean for 20 000 Doubloons, it was crazy, 20 000 Doubloons is worth 100 $$ ( Canadian currency, but that's only because I'm in Canada, don't ask me about how much it'd mean for Euro or any other currency ) and the amount was only to start, naturally since it's an auction it'd rise and get all the more expensive...

While Jingles is very likely correct in this assessment, this shitstorm seems to be large enough to get the attention of the regular media. This is something that WG should be pretty afraid of.
The reason for this is, that
      1. Loot-boxes in games are already being investigated in several European countries
      2. When regular media reports about WG's predatory monetization (for a game rated 7+, no less), regular people hear about it.
      3. When regular people (and especially parents, most of which are usually pretty clueless about what their kids play) hear about this, they might rise a bit of a stink and if regular people rise a stink, politicians might notice it (and there are elections over here in Germany rather soon) and might get involved, if only to score some points with the public.

They don’t need the CCs and they don’t need the player base that follows them or cares about this game. There are more than enough players spending money who don’t know a thing about any of this. And since loot boxes equals profits they are not about to change their practices at all. They will not change because their is no need to. Even if every single player that follows any of the CC’s who quit and every single player on the Reddit, Facebook, or WOWS forums quit and never spent another dime WG would not care at all. Man, this has been a terrible year for Wargaming titles so far. First it was WoT Console’s major fuck up with Update 6.0 in December which ended up alienating the game’s remaining veteran players and content creators. Then there is WoT PC’s fiasco regarding Crew 2.0. And now there’s WoWs and the Yukon/Missouri disaster along with a massive exodus of CC’s which could basically be a death-knell for the program.

Well, if you wondered if they will choose the business vs. the CC's, they answered that in the way I expected. You know how Las Vegas casinos deal with addicted gamblers? They post a phone number to get help. Not really their business to fix people who cannot properly manager their habits. And we should act surprised that a Russian gaming company acts the same? WG isn't a "Woke" American Fortune 500 company pretending to care about people who make up less than 1% of their customer base. They don't care, and at least they are honest about it.

Easy Fix: 1. take the % missouri gets more 2. subtract the % other T9 Premiums get 3. Add this BEFORE adding flags/camo
There are only 2 reasons they wont do it: 1. they dont want you have as much credits as before 2. they are not able to code in that it is counted before flags/camo because the wows code is so badly written that this is not easy to implement

It's why I wrote a post years ago why I was no longer giving them any of my money - that members of the NA community started rioting to have brought back for discussion when it was deleted 'for being in the wrong place'. It's why honestly, the last year or so, I've barely played. Partially because possibility of free stuff - even if I have to work for it, I've actually ended up trying ships in Warthunder cause I wanted something to fill the flying fix I needed initially, and honestly, I've had way more fun in that than in WoWs in a long time. I feel bad for the community managers - because they have to deal with us, dealing with the absolutely incompetent at this point dev team, managers, up most, if not all the damn ladder when it comes to WoWs.

Their apology wasn't an apology, it was forced corporate "remorse" for the consequences of their decisions, whether or not they actually had any remorse or not. Regardless, remorse is not an apology. They're invitation for talking was for them. You as a former CC are going to them for a listen, THEY are the ones having a talk at you.
So since LWM has so much testing experience and also has some experience with making ship skins (camos), I could definitely see her creating her own studio and also making her own successful naval warfare game. She knows how to listen and what is needed. She also knows what ships are actually real and how realistic some paper ships could have been. I think she could do it. Jingle's already has done some voice acting. Just take the concept of WOWS, open it up to include a wider era of ships and call it "Universe of Warships" to spite wargaming.

The problem is that you still assume that WG still agrees to talk with you.
I fear you're deeeply wrong => WG is like a bot: they have one goal (make a maximum profit) and they rush straight forward to achieve it.
So, obviously, awaiting apologies is a loss of time for players too.
No time, no need, nor lust to talk, hooman...
(sorry for english : not my first language)

beta on WOT, alpha in WOWS and WOWP, I saw all of this 8 + years ago. Amusing to me it took others this long to realize what kind of company this is..........

My theory is that the guys who take decisions at WG’s headquarters do NOT play WoT and WoW, neither they have any passion for the games. They are lucky they haven’t any competition (yet), otherwise WG would collapse in a matter of weeks. At the moment they are still making a shitload of money and there are still many people with quick access to credit cards willing to enrich those greedy bastards. I used to be one and the weight of regret is nearly unbearable. The idea I spent hundreds of euros…. Oh no, I don’t even wanna think about it. One thing is sure: I’m done with these sketchy people

All the more reason to play SH3. I've been a closed Alpha tester for WoWS and got the Iwaki Alpha. The ship was really good but now with power creep and de-buffs I don't enjoy it. iChase was at the first TwitchCon in SF and attended the War Gaming after party where the theme was WoWS. I was there too. We were on press accounts in the basement but had a great time. Oh how far has WoWS fallen. Wish I had sold my Alpha account.

They're sorry the CCs left, not what they did to cause that. Typical WG. I still patronage various streamers but I haven't played the game in nearly two years and I won't. WG absolutely doesn't deserve to be paid for their behavior. In fairness, it probably did take a WG employee 72hrs to come up with that statement. Just think of all the time, revisions, and translations it had to go through to reach its current state from the likely initial response of "Go fuck yourselves" in Russian.

I'm definitely done giving money to them until they make some sort of significant change both in game and company cultural wise. As an alternative for now, I saw a video from
iEarlGrey about Refight:The Last Warship. its free on Steam and looked interesting, through the ship selection at the moment is quite limited. I'll give it a try for now, at least until Ultimate Dreadnought comes out.

No Shocked! WG doesnt give 2 shits about CCs leaving,..They will just get new ones if they want them..Business as usual...It still feels good to think that WG took a hit, but in reality i doubt they lost any sleep over this...They are just a shit Company.

I'm having difficulty understanding this situation. Y'all seem upset that WarGaming is treating you exactly the way they've been treating the rest of the player base all along, however, they told you that you were special. So, you shilled their game & accepted their perks. Suddenly, y'all were shocked to learn that WarGaming ignored the constructive criticism you provided... just like they do every other player. Now your noses are bent out of joint because they gave you special gifts & told y'all that you were special, and you found out that you aren't important. Now y'all are upset that their business model is to make a profit? Isn't that sort of what business do? Yes, it sucks, but it is their product, and they can do what they want.
Y'all sound like spurned girlfriends. Sure, everyone warned you about him, but he gave gifts & told you that you were special so you latched on as tightly as you could. Now, you are all mad because you found your boyfriend was just as lothesome as everyone had warned and that you're not so special after all.
