Hi I'm Kathryn!
I am a former soloist with the New York City Ballet and Miami City Ballet. When I was a young student, I was always looking for insights into the ballet world and how to improve my dancing as well as beauty and lifestyle tips. Now that I am a professional, it is my turn to share.

I just love watching your rehearsals together. The communication, the encouragement, the fun, but above all is how you're both always striving for more. This is why i love dance. You can do a piece dozens of times and still have more to work on ❤️

I absolutely am out of my realm but imo Kathryn shouldn’t “charge” when she is at one end of studio and Sean at other. Also I think you should work on transitions from turns so there’s no pause In momentum. It can be jarring to watch. But seriously yall are a treat to watch. I love how Sean just is ready for anything. He’s like “I’m dancing here but here she comes again..” it’s like the song by the Cars. Majorly happens at 5:46
If I'm not mistaken, the part you're referencing should be an extreme diving situation bc Balanchine wanted to be as exciting and daring as possible. Maybe it's not your personal taste which is totally valid😊 that's the beauty of humanity, different tastes and opinions💖

Can't take my eyes off Sean in Carousel. The way he dances his part actually advances the story. (I've only seen the movie. In that, I've always experienced the dance as a lovely but weird interruption. ) Corps boy my ass!

I really love how Balanchine steps can be executed without music, but you can still hear the music in the rhythm of how the dancers' feet hit the floor! Well done, both of you ❤

I have followed your channel and your lessons for a bit now. I actually found you when I was looking to do more pointe work at home and your personality is so genuine and spontaneous that I started binging on your video.
I really wanted to tell you that on only you are an incredibly hard working and talented ballerina, but that your being so selfless, generous, caring and just beautiful inside and out. I learned a lot from you: there are some people who just shine and you are one of these...proud to be (even if just on youtube) one of your "students", your human qualities make you THE prima ballerina in my heart as there is no dancer who inspires me as much as you do! Thanks for bringing me back the joy and the love for ballet after more than 10 years since my last grand pliè 💕

I used to watch Frederick Wiseman's documentary Ballet (at ABT) on repeat growing up for just that taste of behind the scenes. It was so mysterious and gritty. What a treasure trove you have in these videos for us to see so easily!
I don't recall seeing Sean actually dancing (and not partnering) and bravo! Looking very well, Sean! Also Katie, of course but I already knew that❤❤

The hall lights are on movement censor! So they only are on if someone is in the hallway!

It's all there. 5 more runs, and all the musical muscle memory is ignited.
Katie, I hope you realize you have a triple pirouettes closing in the coda. I "Saw it." Trust it. It looks 👌 fabulous and in the tempo rhythm.
Sean, the coupé assemblé to the tours only needs more plié timing and attack. It's OK to growl in rehearsal. You got it, Mr. Soloist...
I like the gray color for the piece. It has elegance. Maybe a lighter gray would be ideal.
The fishdives are spot on.
Hope you video the performance for educational purposes, of course. I think the foundation and Mr. B would permit it...

Time certainly has not passed or shown in your dancing! You look so amazing! NYC ballet say whaaaattt?!! Love both you and Sean! Sean’s hair looking perfect even after intense rehearsal, is beyond my mental capacity to try and understand how it’s possible! ❤😂 Plan accordingly for any summer flying (lots of summer storms this summer! Advice from your fellow Mainline flight attendant!)

I would love if you could post some videos about specifically Balanchine technique! I love Balanchine but I can’t find a lot of good information about the technique and I can’t afford to go to any of the big Balanchine schools :)
