I run Jhoira myself, but my main cards are Etali, Primal Storm, Sunbird's Invocation, Etherium-Horn Sorcerer, Paradox Engine, and Pia's Revolution. The point is to just cast stuff for free and make sweat from salt when Etali, Acquire, and Stolen Goods cast cards from my opponents' decks. Those set off Jhoira and Paradox Engine because I'm the one casting them.
Jhoira is an amazing izzet commander I have a deck for her already and I run 30 lands. I don’t have gilded lotus in it nor mox opal or lotus pedal yet but they are next. I do need to get a bounce card that can bounce my zero drop artifacts for constant goodies. I do run counters for the meta I have cuz through playtesting it was one thing my deck lacked to handle major threats like Zacama. Since I go to a shop that doesn’t use the commander banlist (wotc doesn’t either) I also use tinker and aeons torn emrakul. Main force is anything considered historic. But it’s so much fun. Even have omniscience for flavor.
It's missing a few worthwhile lands, like Saprazzan Skerry, Svyelunite Temple and the red equivalents, as well as Crystal Vein, City of Traitors and maybe Untaidake and Teferi's Isle. Also needs Displacement Wave, Merchant Scroll and Mystical Tutor. You can also run Scale of Chiss-Goria, Tooth of Chiss-Goria and Frogmite if you want even more "free" artifacts. Not sure yet what the best win con is, but I believe it's incorrect to run too many in a deck like this. You'll always find it once you're going off. My favorite right now is actually Words of Wind. I've goldfished a similar version a little, it actually fails to go off the turn you play Jhoira more than I had anticipated, but even with that, it is fast. It would be fine in cEDH, where it's too much of a glass cannon and has no room for interaction, but I still think it might get banned because of its effect on casual EDH.
I think if you were going for a more casual version they could be good, just remember that they kinda work against the retract/hurkels recall plan seeings as they will get returned to hand aswell
You play paradox engine and gilded lotus and bunch of 4 mana artifacts and dont think Alhammarets Archive is worth it? Allhammaret will win alone. You can just draw your whole library with this card alone, you dont need to bounce anymore after this.
I put together a jank Jhoira edh deck with just lots of rocks and fun artifacts. My first game it absolutely obliterated. Jhoira is disturbingly good. Even if you skip cheerios and storm, she is exceptionally broken.
I dont think its possible. Mana positive artifacts like mana crypt are the reason why this works. You cant win the same turn when you play jhoira if you cant get mana for your wincon.
I dont like linear competitive decks, so I made a non infinite version that win with tokens combat damage (Haze of Rage, crazy card) and some other control stuff and things like Psychosis Crawler and Locust God
Would traxos and retraction helix be worth the slots? With them you can bounce any 0 cost over and over for all the draw triggers and with anything like mox amber you get infinite mana as well
With Mana cost recucing cards and Top you can go Play top for free, draw a card, tap top draw a card. play Artifact draw top, play top draw a card, tap top draw a card. Top will get you 1 additional draw per artifact with any cost reducing artifacts.
While competitive, this sounds very repetitive and liniar. Getting to aetherflux reservoir and casting 17 more cards after, is doing the exact same thing every game, and it gets old fast.
Add Mind Crank, Altar of the Brood, Reckless Fireweaver, Nettle Drone, Psychosis Crawler, Psychic Corrosion, Memory Erosion, Jace’s Erasure, and Though Harvester. Also add things that make copies of permanents and enjoy the mill, damage, or just Aetherflux. Adds some variety I guess and it’s super fun.
I really want to make this deck, but I do not own and will not buy any of the Moxes, or Crypt, or Vault. It might be ok without them, but not possible to T1 win. I could really see this deck go off with the Helm reduction so Top is free, then draw 2 at a time, which should help if you hit land. One card I'm surprised I NEVER see is Copper Gnomes. (2 mana artifact creature with 4, Sac, put an artifact from your hand into play.) End of opponents turn Paradox engine? What?
Its possible, but you need Leyline of Anticipation for it. But if you cant play it free it wont do anything, so thats the main reason why no-one plays it.
I took them out. 100+ games with it. You'd think they'd be gas right? They're not. You want more draw and want the least amount of work to operate. Vedalken Archmage is the better option after all my playtime, albeit the slower one. Alhammaret's Archive is amazing in the deck though, and a good budget option, now a staple in the deck, is Helm of Hosts. Can copy the archmage, can copy jhoira. Too busted.
Riddlesmith is 4/5. Cmc 2 is the reason why it wins the game. You can easily play it on T1 or 2 and just go nuts on next turn. it lets you draw like 30 cards and there will be one bounce card to draw the entire library. Extra draw + jhoira = win.
There is 40-50 artifacts in the deck. So you need to play 90% of your artifacts for it to be lethal. And if you can do that it meas that you needed to play this first, before any other atrifacts. And if you can play 90% of your artifacts, there is much easier ways to finnish the game. + its creature and dies to removal.
with a 1 mana reduction on casting cost and sensei divining top and jhoira online is probably game over ... not totally sure about the timing but it's probably posassible to play sensei for free, drawing a card with jhoira and before drawing with her you put the top on the library so you can loop the sensei as many times as the remaining card in the deck. let me know if this availabre but it's probably right
I was running Top/Helm of awakening/future sight in mizzix storm. May find a place in this deck too. That will get you multiple draws off of top with Jhoira
Grapeshot is actually great for multiplayer. You choose new targets for each time a spell was cast before it so once you kill one opponent, you can then choose a new target opponent. Use it once and end the game pretty much

I imagine the deck have some storm cards? I have seem versions with them but yea the deck seem alright but meeeh kinda boring always doing the same.
It is actually a difficult deck to pilot and I dont think this is the best build.

The top is still on the stack, when her trigger resolves. So it doesn‘t work.
