- Unmanned Ground Vehicles are currently show casted at Eurosatory, where life demonstrations are featured. Robots carry out all sorts of missions (EOD/IEDD, CBRN etc.) and are part of the dismounted soldier of todays forces on the ground. COBRA MKII is used by the French Army in Afghanistan, CAMELEON by the French Fire Army.

***** I'm not saying that computers are useless but they lack the "human aspect" when making decisions. Todays computers still lack the ability to make decisions whether the kid was holding a stone or a grenade....
I guess these would be fine for military or police except they announce themselves 3 blocks away with the steppers and servos and loud motors. Make them silent and then you would have something.

Looks like a percussion actuated neutralizer (PAN) water shot. What that means is there is a barrel full of a fluid, like water, and a 12 gauge shotgun blank behind it. The blank propels the water forward and uses it as a media to neutralize the device. Not strong enough to set off explosives but fast enough to defeat most circuits.

You are right - there are many places and situations when agility and speed is not an issue. Good example is Fukushima disaster. Althoug in such highly radioactive environment, any known robot will fail very quickly (electronic become screwed by ionizing radiation), so decent speed is sometimes very important. This is why I commented that it is too slow and not enough agile. Also, it can be done much precise for certain situations.
