So I dont get it when people say he only knows how to play the cold guy roles. Seriously please watch this show. Hopefully he'll get more of this kind of lively roles in the near future.

I am so glad they picked Eun-woo to play this role. He fits the personality of Prince Dowon, very charming, intelligent, kind, considerate, gentle, and soft-hearted. I love it. Their relationship is just so sweet to look at. I cannot express how much I love this coupke ever since I started watching Rookie Historian. Such a beautiful romance story. The best one in historical k-drama history.
The Prince who is kept hidden was played by a great actor. His facial innocence and arrogance is endearing. He’s naive because he’s kept away from the real world. But that doesn’t mean he’s stupid. When called upon to make decisions, he makes them very thoughtfully. Again, a great actor who could portray his pain and loneliness and seeking approval of his father, and his great bond with the Crown Prince. This is an underrated gem.
One of the best kdramas i watched. This drama is light, sweet and fun to watch. There is no second lead syndrome also, tragic or extreme dramas between every characters. Story line is perfect and interesting with surprising twists yet strong and meaningful. Talking about characters and roles, everyone is fit in their character. For instance, prince dowon Yi Rim is innocent, free-spirited, silly, extremely kind but smart which cha eun woo portrayed very well he showed his versatility here indeed a great actor he is. whereas, Goo Hae Ryung is smart, intelligent, strong-willed, rebellious, brave but kind and comprehensive which shin se kyung is perfectly fitted in this role as her top notch acting did it once more. Overall, everyone like king, grandmother, father, officers, historians specially eunuch also did well. So, i like every characters and their development. prince dowon and goo hae ryung's interactions and moments makes your heart flutter. Even though there is less romance, their sweet gestures and sweet moments will be just enough. Their relationship is humble and moreover there is no toxic relationship. Lastly, eun woo smile melts you and stops your breath for once lol. Also, soundtracks are very beautiful. So, I highly recommend all of you to watch this drama. To me it is 10 out of 10.

This was my first kdrama, and I so loved it. It was this blend of girl power, sweetness, histority in the historian, funny, innocence, captivating and enthralling, and beautiful costumes. And of course, great actors!!
I finished watching this drama a few months ago and I loved it, I think this drama does not have much recognition for how beautiful it is, I love the couple that Shin Sae-kyeong and Cha Eun-woo make, the two act and look very good together !!!! :)

This was a great and well-balanced drama. Complexity in the characters, no ridiculous love triangles, shows the struggles of women who want to make something of themselves during a very sexist time, shows great sibling relationships (Do won & crown prince, Hae Ryung & her brother), shows political corruption & power plays, and the interconnection with your environment and whatever is happening in the world.

Ppl who keep saying he acted better in this than gangnam ID n true beauty . You do realise all three characters r written differently . Do kyeong so was cold but warm inside always see through others only mirae knew him well . Suho had many layers he was cold outside and had walls around him he was depressed, self hating and had pushed away everyone till jugyeong came in his life. Here he is prince who falls for lady immature, kind , naughty , still you will see his mature decision in further episodes. All characters r different and he aced all the roles if you go according to script . You can't expect him act like prince in role of do kyeong so or suho or vice versa.

This was a great and well-balanced drama. Complexity in the characters, no ridiculous love triangles, shows the struggles of women who want to make something of themselves during a very sexist time, shows great sibling relationships (Do won & crown prince, Hae Ryung & her brother), shows political corruption & power plays, and the interconnection with your environment and whatever is happening in the world.
First time seeing eun woo acting and I fell in love completely... He's totally my type in this drama, so gentle, caring, straight forward ... Now I'm watching my Id is gangam beauty, but he's so different there lol

I am so in love with this film that I "binge-watch" this, one episode after another - like a good book, I can't put down - I can't stop watching this series - it has everything that one could possibly want in a series - enchantinly beautiful writing, acting, directing, filming and of course, last but not least - musical score - it's been a long time since I have watched anything THIS wonderful - I'm totally in love with all of it, none the least - the actors themselves - thank you to the producers, directors and acting cast for this enchantingly gorgeous film work of art

I loved this drama so much. I saw this after Gangnam Beauty. Rookie was where I really started to appreciate Eun Woo’s acting, he was excellent in this and the story was so gripping and multi layered!

Do kyeong so was cold but warm inside always see through others only mirae knew him well . Suho had many layers he was cold outside and had walls around him he was depressed, self hating and had pushed away everyone till jugyeong came in his life.
Here he is prince who falls for lady immature, kind , naughty , still you will see his mature decision in further episodes.
All characters r different and he aced all the roles if you go according to script . You can't expect him act like prince in role of do kyeong so or suho or vice versa.
Both have a beautiful chemistry together !!!❤️❤️❤️
