As someone who was raised Christian and goes back and forth about it to this day, I’ve never understood the concept of making “our own” version of whatever the latest hot thing is. You wanna watch High School Musical, watch High School Musical. Whats the difference? It’s a kid’s movie, it’s not offensive, so who cares? What’s the point? If anything that is not explicitly Christian is at least a little evil, or at least not as good as the “Christian” version, then you’d better sell your car, because I guarantee there isn’t a “Christian” version of it. And your phone. And your light bulbs. Anyone who panics about anything being dangerous unless it’s absolutely made by someone of their faith doesn’t need a church, they need a psychiatrist for their paranoia. I’m glad the churches I went to growing up never bought into this crap.
I think the point is simply to make subpar versions to sell to hardcore christians who are hellbent on showing their kids nothing but christian media. Cuz that market is lucrative enough for the makers of these to forgo all quality checks.
It's the whole paranoia around 'the corrupting effects of secular media' while refusing to acknowledge that most of it's super entertaining. It's why so many of them are Christian soapboxes first and actual media with entertainment value second.
The problem with Christian movies is that they're always extremely melodramatic, and poorly thought out, and the solution is always God and Jesus, even if the protagonists are dickwads, as long as they're with god all their actions will be ultimately justified with the narrative bending over itself to make them be right above everyone else.
The whole part about the dad being away because he's in the military, and the mom losing her job, so they have to move is hilarious to me. Assuming the parents are married, the dad will absolutely be making enough money to keep the family where they are with dependent pay, BAH/BAS, and separation pay...Just because he's away on deployment doesn't mean he's not getting paid. If anything, they simply could have said that the dad has to move because of his job and that would have been fine lol
And I'm pretty sure there are protections in place to stop a deployed service member from losing their house while they are away. I don't think they could be kicked out.
His angry dance at 8:56 makes Kevin Bacon’s angsty dance to Never in Footloose look like a teen having a happy afternoon, just dancing and doing some gymnastics 😂

As a Christian who grew up in the environment that produced this movie and others like it, the part about "be yourself" and "do your own thing" made me laugh. Those were fighting words in my part of the church. After all, the Bible says "the heart of man is desperately wicked" (no context, of course) and that our "true selves" are disgusting and infected with sin (again, Bible verses ripped out of context, but anyway...). I like what they did with Savannah, where she was supposedly too meek in the beginning to sing well, and then all of a sudden she's supposed to be a great singer later because she got more confident or whatever, like in Sister Act with that red-headed nun. But in Sister Act, the redheaded nun actually had a talent. Savannah....no. Just no.
I feel like the weirdest part about this movie is they're not even in Sunday School at any point. Also the whole "he moved 45 minutes away so has to be part of this school's choir" like it's Glee or something. Like why tf does the school have a religious choir anyway? Aren't any of the choirs through the church, which the main character could still be part of even after moving??
Please PLEASE for the live of GOD do china’s high school musical next 😂😂😂😂 That said, I, for a split second, thought you had a black eye and I was like oh my god what happened and then I remembered that I got tea on my phone this morning and I still haven’t cleaned it off. It’s been over 12 hours….
I'm ten minutes in and I'm cackling and hooting. Dancing boy is mad because they gonna move like 45 minutes away, not 3 hours or 3 states down, 45 effing minutes away! Tell me you're a pampered brat without telling me you're a pampered brat. And so far a lot of info doesn't add. They are acting like the father doesn't contribute moneywise or that there aren't other places within the area where she can work. That Mr Lahey clip stunned me and made have a serious laugh attack 😂😂😂😂😂 I AM THE LIQUOR! 😊
I had no idea this existed omfg 💀 the cash grabs people do man (the movie)
Every time I see his angry dance I think of another movie called Dancin it’s on😂
Hey pig, I’ve been subscribed for a while and I just want to say I love your videos. I appreciate all your hard work. You’re so fun to watch and every video you put out is so amazing. I know you feel discouraged from the lack of views but there’s a lot of people at there that love your content and I’m sure many more will come in the future. Keep it up, you got this
I like what they did with Savannah, where she was supposedly too meek in the beginning to sing well, and then all of a sudden she's supposed to be a great singer later because she got more confident or whatever, like in Sister Act with that red-headed nun.
But in Sister Act, the redheaded nun actually had a talent.
Savannah....no. Just no.
At the end...im like.."You ok, pig?" Almost a milly!
I was in Catholic high school in 2008, and I had never even heard of this movie until a couple of years back when Musical Hell covered it.
as a former choir kid the suggestion to do your own thing is so wrong. you have to listen to each other and use teamwork to sound good. lol
I love your videos. It confuses the hell out of me that you don’t get the views you deserve
So there was no actual "Sunday School"... just riding the coattails of that other School Musical....
I always forget Pig is a giant among us, looks like average 5'9 but nope
I enjoy watching your videos all the time. You’re doing amazing work! Thank you for fantastic content 😊
Bruh they really said "the one prevalent black woman is the loudest one" like it was nothing
13:07 I’m glad it’s some…original..advice at least 😂 I bet watching this felt like a fever dream
They got the anger dance from Janet's "The Knowledge".
can’t wait for Summer School Musical to drop
Please PLEASE for the live of GOD do china’s high school musical next 😂😂😂😂
That said, I, for a split second, thought you had a black eye and I was like oh my god what happened and then I remembered that I got tea on my phone this morning and I still haven’t cleaned it off. It’s been over 12 hours….
I guess not being in a chair really helps you get your groove on as randomly as these actors do 😂
yeah maybe you should learn to get tf up too pal
Is this not technically Disney's let it shine mixed with high school musical?
The Joji reference got me in the feels unexpectedly
I've been dying waiting in someone else to talk about that movie. I have seen (and loved) Nick DiRamios 100 times
I mean she must be like a receptionist or such because register nurses always have work. So...
So the movie is basically If High School Musical and Sister Act 2 had an ugly baby.
O my god this is so cringe - i love learning about the christian knockoffs for movies becasue theyre always sooo bad thanks for covering this!
Manta has been a godsend for my sleep. I have mad insomnia and migraines, and I could never find a blackout mask that actually worked. 20/10.
Also, this was hilarious.
Even if you could care less about the movie, look me in the eyes and tell me that Pig angry dancing or tutting all over the studio doesn't make you giggle and warm your heart. I dare you.
Every one talks about high school musical... ive never seen it and never really wanted to. The most i ever saw of it was a bunch of previews advertising it and joke videos on it
Its worth a watch, and its interesting how many lessons didnt make sense to me till i was an adult. Even if you don't like it, its a rather emotionally fulfilling movie if you struggle with being confident in your abilities and being happy in your own lane
Agreed. I've never seen it either.
