  • My husband thought it'd be nice to share 'our' special birds, so I put the beginning together tonight.
Their story begins Aug 4th 2020 when a tropical storm came through and blew some nests out of the trees. One of those nests had contained 2 tiny American robins that were found laying close to it. I didn't know which tree it came out of, but I placed them back in the nest and secured it as best as I could it in the tree I thought was most likely the one. The parents were nowhere to be seen for hours & hours & into the night so I brought them in because it was cool after the storm and I was afraid they wouldn't make it if I didn't.
I placed them in our small, heated to super toasty warm laundry room and crash coursed everything I could learn about robins. I returned to the tree with them the next day agan hoping to see some robins but there were none all day. So back inside they came.
One of them had splayed legs possibly from the fall, this one we ended up naming Lou Lou (later discovering that he was the male) & the other one my husband named Sputnik, Sputty for short.
By grace I was able to successfully rehab Lou Lou's legs doing birdie physical therapy on him several times a day 🙌
This is the first video of their story.
PS ....Please excuse my incessant baby talk in several of the clips 🙈 I try, but for the life of me can't keep my mouth shut when recording 😅
Someday I'd like to get a video editing program that will allow me to keep the good sounds (anything other than myself, a lawn mower, motorcycle, etc) and put everything together 'better' ☺️
