I am a wax specialist and I have had guests mention to me that they had lazer hair removal done and after becoming pregnant, the hair had regrown due to hormone changes. I usually recomend getting laser hair removal after having children to avoid the chance of it regrowing~
This will probably get lost in the plethora of comments, but I just wanted to share with those thinking of getting this. Laser hair removal requires several treatments for it to be at the level of hairlessness you are comfortable with. Usually the first treatment will be the easiest. The first treatment is set at the lowest setting and it will gradually increase with each session. When I had this done a few years ago I was not aware of this. The first treatment I had was a breeze and thought I had this in the bag. 😂 I think I was about 4 or 5 treatments in when I actually had to stop and reschedule the session because it was too intense. I was able to go back and finish the session without a hitch though. The toughest part honestly was that I happened to have a not incredibly common histamine reaction after the treatment. I would get raised hives that would cover my legs only (thank heavens it was only my legs this happened to.) The hives were so incredibly itchy. It maked it difficult to sleep for first few nights after each treatment. I learned to start taking an antihistamine, like Benadryl or Claritin, a day before, the day of, and the days after my appointment. That did help lesson the severity of the histamine reaction. Now for the sensation of the treatment, I would say it was similar to the snap of a rubber band against your skin. It can be VERY intense but it subsides almost immediately. The laser mechanism does give a blast of cool air as the laser flashes counteracting the heat of the laser. I don't want it to seem scary but I also want anyone thinking about it to know what is like to go through the whole process. Many things can effect your experience: where you are in your hormone cycle, skin color, hair color, pain tolerance, etc. I still think it was totally worth it and would do it again. I love that my daily routine is so much shorter and I now have the excuse to sleep in a little longer on the morning. 😅
Y’all don’t forget the pain is affected by the color of your hair and skin! The darker the worse the pain is, so if u have thick dark hair, please be careful ❤️ Edit: Y'all i did not expect this to get 9K likes! thank you so much!
@@sarahalviz979 Unusually thick, dense body hair in a woman could easily mean something is 'off' hormonally. Like with PCOS. Of course, it can also just be genetic. So if one doesn't come from a 'hairy' family it's worth getting it checked out.
PSA: Laser Hair removal gets more painful the more you go. They up the voltage or whatever kills the follicles so it goes deeper into the skin. It’s bearable pain but it doesn’t stay pain free forever.
If you go to a laser removal clinic with latest tech, it wouldn’t be that painful, sure they up the voltage, but the pain is almost the same as before, barely even there.
Reminder y’all that it’s also okay to want body hair. It’s something natural and everyone has it (unless you have a condition) just let ppl be happy whatever they choose
yess! if i ever have kids i will we teach my sons and especially daughters that it’s okay if they want to shave, not shave, whatever but remember, do it for yourself. body hair shouldn’t be such a stigmatized thing for women to have. i wish my parent had told me this growing up.
My husband is Indian and he says shaving isn't the most common thing there . Sure some, maybe even a lot, of women remove some of their body hair but it's not EXPECTED. in the USA it's like you're a beast if you're hairy. I have eczema and sensitive skin, even showering with too hot water can cause a flare up, let alone scraping my skin with a razor. So I rarely shave, especially not my underarms and legs. And my husband says nothing, other than that he likes the way my legs feel when they're super hairy or freshly shaved lol each time I shave, once it gets prickly he jokingly says "this is why you shouldn't shave" 😂
IF YOU HAVE DARK THICK HAIR - IT WILL HURT LIKE SHIT. Im currently waiting to get my 3rd laser session done (full Brazilian). Each zap is VERY uncomfortable and makes you physically flinch in pain. However, im aware i had my lazer hair removal in a much more sensitive place.😂

The darker and thicker your hair is, the more it hurts. And certain areas hurt more than others. It's tolerable, but not pain-free. But I also had to use the yag laser because I have dark skin, so that might also make a difference.

That all being said... best decision I ever made for my under arms. However... your body odor can change. I HAVE to use deodorant now. One of my friends rarely needs it now
That's a totally different laser than what I got. Mine hurt like hell and I was red and painful afterwards. I went to a different clinic the next time and they put a cream on me before they lasered and it didn't nearly hurt as much. @@namastey8358 yeah it's awesome. I haven't bought shaving products since. But they explain to you if you will be a good candidate. Depends how thick your hair is and other factors. Like they told me my thigh hair is too fine and laser wouldn't make any difference.
I hope we get updates. I've been seriously considering this for years. I hate all my body hair. I've gotten more relaxed about it after I turned 25ish but still would really rather not have it. Haha.
I am currently undergoing laser treatment. I remove hair with a diode laser, because I am a little dark and if you have pigment in your skin, then it is better to choose a diode laser so that there is no pigmentation. The girl in the video removes hair with an alexandrite laser, it is more effective, but again, the risk of pigmentation is higher. Honey, laser is the best investment. Before that, I didn’t wear tops, because I was embarrassed by my line at the stomach. I always had ingrown hairs there, which I picked and which left post-acne and scars. Now, thank God, everything is fine, I have become much more confident in myself, nothing itches and is not irritated after shaving. I advise you unequivocally. I do bikinis, belly, underarms and legs up to the knee.
I recommend laser 100%! Even though it’s expensive I love it soo much! I’m still in process but I already shave only once a month! For me it’s very painful (like a thousand needles pinching me) but it takes about 15 minutes for armpits and bikini so it’s pretty fast! I’m considering getting laser for my legs, too. I would recommend doing it in autumn/winter because sun can make skin more sensitive!
My friend has a really low pain tolerance. She said she *cried* during every session because of the pain. Everyone will react to it differently. I'm glad it didn't hurt you as bad. I personally have a love-hate relationship with my body hair. Like I want to be hairless but at the same time I don't. I feel like if I lasered my body, I'll miss my hair 😂
I did laser for over a year, and it is VERY painful if you have dark (thick) hairs and you’re doing sensitive areas of the body. Much more painful than waxing ever was. Over time as less hairs grow back and they get thinner, it’s more tolerable.
yeah wanted to say this! as a poc even my first session had me flinching and gritting my teeth. the lady who does my laser says I can bring entertainment and I def will next time
I know it's a pain but hair is a natural thing for our body to have no idea what it does but GOD gave us hair so it must do something amazing for our body!! Love always Kelli
I've gotten laser hair removal too and it all comes down to your hair texture like if it's thick or thin. Depending on that, the number of sessions you may have to take and the maintenance after that. One big mistake of mine was to go for it before the pandemic which disrupted my appointment frequencies and had to do extra sessions
My contract was to get 10 sessions in a set number of months. The pandemic hit and they didn't even bother to tell anyone when they were open again. Didn't extend the time frame. Refused to do the sessions afterwards. I basically paid for 10 sessions and got 2.
Laser experience really changes based on what machine they use so make sure to make your research before everyone!! No regrets tho i love how my results turned out
I’ve been doing laser for almost three years. Best decision ever! It hurts more when you have a ton of hair so the first few sessions can hurt a lot but after a few times I only had to go once or twice a year for touch ups and you barely feel the laser.
I’ve been getting laser hair removals ever since this video came out. I was convincing myself my experience would be just the same as Hailey’s but boy was I wrong. It’s one of the worst pains I’ve ever felt and it’s all throughout my body. It’s like someone’s skinning me alive for 3 hours. Am very brave and I’ve tolerated a lot of pain in my life. Broke bones. Got so many different types of laser treatments. Got tooth plucked without anesthesia. Got piercings. But this pain is one of the worst I’ve felt. The ONLY worse pain I can think of is fractal laser and Morpheus8. I would still argue laser hair removal is the worst because of the duration I need to endure. I’ve never considered giving up on a treatment. But oh boy I just can’t stand this. Am just gonna stick to the razors as much as I hate them.
Girl the reason why it feels like ice is because the woman who was doing it was using it with ice settings, try to do it normal around 16-18 and you're gonna burn alive 😭 Legs are the most hurtful part for me
Great video! My best tip though, never do it during your period even if they tell you it will be okay. I did once and it was so so horrible! I have PCOS and I've had laser hair removal over the last year at a Therapie clinic in the U.K. I bought 10 sessions of lip and chin, full leg, underarms and full bikini. I can't recommend it enough. I have my final session next week. My underarm hair has stopped growing completely, I have some stragglers on my legs, and there are patches on my bikini line that still grow. My chin is so much better and that was the main one I was concerned with. I will likely need top up sessions because of the hormonal hair growth but I am very happy with it overall. It cost me about £1000 in total and was SO worth it. Therapie is a great clinic, highly recommended them.
I had laser hair removal and to be honest, for me personally it was a complete waste of time and money. I'm now patchy - and whilst it is now easier to shave and I dont get a rash anymore, i still have to shave the same amount as it hasnt got rid of enough hair. I'm part Italian and I have quite thick dark hair. I wish I hadnt wasted the money as I havent really saved anything as I still have to shave (altho the shaving is easier). Laser can also trigger the hair to grow more by stimulating the roots, so unfortunately it isnt for everyone.
So here’s an Asian (Chinese) with the laser removal armpit experience. So it does hurt. And for me it felt hot rather than cold. Laser removal typically stings like they’re electrocuting the inside of your skin. Yeah that’s about it. It takes 6-10 procedures to get rid of most of the hair and you visit the clinic every 1 and a half months or at least that’s what I had to do
Omg thanks for putting an honest review! I've been wanting to get this done since I end up with just too much hair being pulled by clothes and very rashy in certain places. I think looking at your review i am going to honestly consider it because it would save me so much time and efforts! Ive been also looking at electrolysis for my chin hair. Have you tried it?
Electrolysis is painful and bullshit, just go straight for laser. My last electrolysis tech was a real bitch, the process was painful, and I didn’t get results.
I cannot emphasize enough the importance of the clinic that you go to being professional and kind and having good bedside manner. It is absolutely paramount and also signifies a legitimate business with happy customers.

Hope they don't grow quickly
People, be aware that depending on the contrast between your skin tone and hair color, hair thickness even, type of laser, the pain is going to be completely different. There's IPL (Intense pulsed light), SHR (super hair removal), YAG - which are all intense light - Diode, Alexandrite - which are laser. SHR is more effective and less painful than IPL and works for all skin types and hair colors - however I think there has to be a contrast for it to be effective. YAG is better for people with darker skin tones. Diode is suitable for all skin types and hair colors. Alexandrite is better for people with fair skin and even if they are blonde. Babes, from my experience, if you have a light skin tone and dark thick hair and you do SHR, for example, you'll feel more pain in certain areas as the sessions progress - vulva is the worst of them all, armpits, inner part of your ass cheeks, inner part of your thighs and leg, the parts where your hair is most likely to be coarser. The first session will be chill but just prepare yourself mentally if you're doing Brazilian area bc it will hurt.
For anyone interested in this, remember that it's not Laser Hair Removal but Reduction, you will most still have hair after (especially lighter hair) and will have to get touch-ups. It's also useful to check if your hormones are in order, because if they're not, you won't see much of a difference and the hair growths might even get worse.
My appointments hurt like hell. Part of the areas I had done also never worked because my hair was too close to my skin color, so big time waste of money overall (for me personally).
If we just loved the hair on our bodies and accepted them as they are, we wouldn't have to do painful things like this to our bodies :') Love your natural body, it deserves to feel accepted as it naturally is ♡
I'm happy to hear that. A few years ago I saw a vlog from a youtuber about it, and she was trying to hold in screams or screaming basically the whole time. Good to know that either she was being dramatic for the video or that the technology improved. Though I might never get it done, because skin cancer and sunlight sensitivity runs in the female part of the family and I'm a bit scared it will make it worse. Plus the money.
Usually people have different pain tolerances, so if it doesn’t hurt at all to someone, it could be very painful to someone else. This is usually the case with influencers, however, many people have a different ranges of pain tolerance depending on the person ( sorry for the paragraph 😅)

It depends on the person, to me certain areas of my bikini zone and basically my whole underarms really sting like a b*tch. I have really tick dark hair there, so it makes sense that it will release more energy through the form of heat as they get zapped out of this realm. Once you’ve completed your sessions, most of the hair loss is permanent.

Hopefully other hairy girls can relate haha
Facts, my legs and arms are hairier than the average guy. And I have hairs on my abdomen, back, even my fingers and toes
Your body hair is beautiful and natural. You don’t need to get rid of it. So sad that women hate their body hair because men say it’s unattractive.
@@Kitkat_bar If she is as hirsute as Patty the Sasquatch, she is better off getting rid of it, if she wants a mate with 46 chromosomes.
@@Kitkat_bar If someone doesn’t want to get rid of their body hair then that’s totally okay, but plenty of women with light skin and dark hair like myself prefer not to have it.
Woah wow but how manh sessions did it take for you to permanently get rid of all the hair?
Wait it depends on hormone cycle too? 😮

PSA: Laser Hair removal gets more painful the more you go. They up the voltage or whatever kills the follicles so it goes deeper into the skin. It’s bearable pain but it doesn’t stay pain free forever.
What do you mean forever? You mean it hurts after the process too?

Hi, sorry which kind of machine did you use do you remember? Was it Alexandrit or diode?
I hope we get updates. I've been seriously considering this for years. I hate all my body hair. I've gotten more relaxed about it after I turned 25ish but still would really rather not have it. Haha.
Check my post. I did it in another country ( which was a quarter of the cost in the US), but I continued my treatments in Chicago.

Super cool thing to share. Truly inspiring!

Ive got a little thingy that does this but it overheats super fast so it takes a bit and ends up being really painful if you try to do it fast.

As someone that gets hurt so often and now has a high pain tolerance, I see this as an absolute win. Pain or no pain 😌
If you’re considering getting it done I’d recommend researching electrolysis as well to compare! Whatever you decide, best wishes :)
The whole time I was so scared that Haleyy was going to troll us 💀🤚
Thanks Haley. I am bothered by my facial hair for last 15 years. And I was thinking about going to Therapie. This is what I actually needed.
Please read about paradoxical regrowth. It's a phenomenon that often happens after laser on the face. Basically you risk having MORE hair on your face than what you have.
i’ve been 15 times to therapie clinic and the hairs still there 😩 thinner but still for the price was expecting better results fyi i have light skin and dark hair which is meant to be the best combination for getting laser
The most serious video she ever made😩😩😌😌still slaying tho💅💅bthw am from Greece just so u know that Greek ppl watch yo vids💅💅💅aka:me and ma bff 👯♀️
Oohh.. that looks easy! And painless!
There are lots of different laser machines, there's differences and you typically need several sessions
I love doing laser removal but if you do it to many times, it could discolor your skin over time. But it’s ok to do it once a month.
I am a subscriber btw
