Holy shit what is Longlegs even about? The trailers have been absolutely fantastic. Can’t wait to see the first full one. I actually love the fact I don’t know anything about the film.
The filmmakers are keeping mum about the details beyond the bare minimum, but the basic plot is as follows (don’t look if you’d rather go in fully blind.) “Longlegs” is a serial killer with an unspecified personal connection to the protagonist, so she makes it her goal to hunt him down. Also, he uses a bunch of evil imagery, from Satanic to mythological, for reasons unknown.
I tried decoding some of the stuff on the "wall of ciphers" shot. There's a lot of unknown symbols there, but plugging in the letters we know makes a lot of it nonsense. So i think the "marketing" cipher is different than the "in movie" cipher.
I can only make out the name "Joel" a few times from the glyphs on the wall. Otherwise, it's a bunch of gibberish. The narrative could be using a different glyph alphabet than what we have. From the second teaser, I was able to make out "Hail Satan." The "ESGLO" from the first teaser is really gnawing at my mind.
I think the wall is just set dressing and not actually decipherable (which is kind of disappointing.) They’re reusing “words” but arranging them around the wrong way, and if this were a legitimate wall trying to decode the cypher, then the detective is not that bright.
Yes! Please bring back trailers giving almost nothing away instead of a 4 min super cut of the “best” parts. I want to go in knowing nothing but the allure and intrigue of snippets like these. 😍
I just wanna point out that the poster of this movie gave me Henry: Potrait of a Serial killer vibe, and people told me that this is going the be one of the darkest movie this year However, those teasers actually made me felt like a "Cult horror" movie I am wondering if we get a wild spin on a horror take with combining "Cult theme" with "Slasher" but make it disturb
I think we can infer a lot from the director's other movie, The Blackcoat's Daughter. The vibes I'm getting here remind me a lot of the plot from that mvoie

Thanks to some of my own deciphering, I was able to parse out the phrase, "Hail Satan" in the last frame of the second teaser. Still can't make out the five-letter word/acronym in the first teaser before "Longlegs" was written out in glyphs.
It felt like the pastor intentionally checked to make sure we were watching- and then moved jauntily into position intentionally to be visible to us as he is killed. Like beyond intentional blocking for a scene. It feels like us watching him die was supposed to do.... Something.....
I've been liking these teasers......but I want to see an actual full trailer at this point. Meh, we'll probably get it next week or the week after that.

I have it written out but the only usable cipher they give you is "longlegs" at the end of the first teaser. Using only those letters is really hard to decipher any of the other codes in the teasers. Also there is a symbol with "M" written on a post it in this video but still, pretty vague.
