Andy made most of his money through commissions! !Warhol's silkscreen portraits of Hollywood "royalty" is what paid for everything else he did, including movies, his magazine and other projects. Andy wasn't concerned about whether critics thought his work was "good" like other artists he wanted people to enjoy it! He was a PoP artist who made work for the "populace"!
It's strange, I come to read his 'words aloud ', and it gives me a feeling like it wasn't him. It's all his deadpanned attitude. But some quotes show his wits, they are funny
i hv to tell y'all that i watched this bc i found Michael Jacksons face on a painting and i even heard billy jeans :( note: i am a Michael jackson Xd ):
@PUSH\Thanks, I was about to say something similar but I'm not that familiar with the technique! Critics who don't look down on Warhol's point out that he was a great draftsman as can be seen in his illustration work, which doesn't get enough attention. At one point, I was once a Warhol "attacker' but that was before I went to a major retrospective of his work and heard stories about what a workaholic that guy was before he was shot; after which he had to rely more on help from his assistants!

the cliche walk in a super market while talking about coke or soup...how many times has a "documentary" done that...answer: too many
this are prints not paintings
he would paint on top of a lot the prints and a lot of skill goes into making silk screen prints with many screens
