+Secretariat Rolex (Daytona) has 44 jewels against the Zenith El Primero's 31. Whereas the El Primero has a super hi-beat of 36,000 bph, the Rolex beats at 28,800 bph. Also the Rolex movement uses 50% less parts than the Zenith. It also has a 72 hour power reserve as compared to the 54 hours available on the Zenith. the new caliber winds 68% faster than the 4030. The sub dials are located differently...the second hand is now located at 6'o'clock. Being that Rolex discontinued them years ago, thus they are worth more to collectors. I prefer due to the elegance of the design, the column wheel rather than a cam and lever, the intricate layout of the movement, history of Zenith, the movement especially reliable / rugged / accurate, the amazing longevity of the movement itself - still in current production with minimal change 41 years after its introduction, and still among the best movements you can get, the high-beat chronograph seconds sweep - smoooooth, Check out my zentih Zenith El Primero 410 ruclips.net/video/4kil5twnzDc/видео.html
+Amateur Watch Collector If I may ask, do you like the Rolex Modified El Primero Zenith movement more than the newer Rolex In House movement? If yes, why? Thanks.
+nav san Hi - I'm just getting into watches, starting off with IWC and funnily enough, a Zenith El Primero Elite Classic! But I'm about to enter the stupid phase and want a Rolex, just one! Your comment about knowing now they are not the king.... can you explain? (might save me from my own stupidity!) Thanks.
malthus101 there are better brands out there then rolex. Rolex has more marketing so better know but its don't make them the better brand. I do like my gold daytona and glad I bought it I just bought a SS daytona (video to come) If your new to watches don't jump in to the high brand look at other brands see what you like. If buying Rolex pick the right one. Take your time. Which Rolex are you looking at? Look at JLC they have great watches.
nav san Thanks Nav - well I came to your video because I wanted to see the Daytona in full gold. It seems "very" Rolex! The platinum version with ice blue dial is beautiful although somewhat expensive, cough cough. They are really the only two that get me excited. I'm a fan of IWC - I like their understated-ness. Rolex is the complete opposite! (but fun) - which brands and models would you recommend checking out? I like the Vacheron Overseas too...
Such watch was one of mascots of Russian comedy serial "Fizruk", and "Moscow calling" - song of our famous group Gorky Park - was part of original soundtrack to this film

How does the Rolex modified El Primero Zenith movement( 4030) to the newer Rolex In House( 4130) movement? Which do you personally prefer? And why?
