Alarm Pro: I am a installation technician. I had the dialer delay set the the lowest it could go. ADT just sucks. Thank god its not monitored with them anymore! Not to mention that the cell dialer was AT&T and has very little service here. The new system doesnt have any of these issues. I also realized that the Vista system was over loaded from having to many devices on the keybus (3 keypads, GSM, RF reciever, and motion power) which caused the system to lag on dialing out and sending the proper signals.
@@alarmservicepros its because when Honeywell signed the contract with ADT the dialer delay was set to SIA standards which sucks because it has a 15 sec delay i will never understand SIA mandates
@@eggdabercortezfortezlortez7097 No, it's because ADT uses crap motion sensors and has dildos installing them. They are false alarm machines and THAT is why the delay.
It's not about how long the call takes to get there. It's the Alarm Callout option in programming. Just set that lower, and the system will call out faster, making a faster call.
ADT's cellular communication is way faster in response time compared to their landline communication. My grandmas alarm has gone off before and they call, at the lastest, one minute after.
Your system is built with Exit Delay and Entry Delay Alarm Timers. These timers can each be set up to 1-minute. If you want a faster response you will need to have ADT adjust your timers. Keep in mind these timers allow you the time needed to enter and exit your home after either arming or disarming your system. Pulse has nothing to do with how these timers affect your system. You could set the timer for 5-seconds but then you would have to RUN OUT OF YOUR HOUSE VERY QUICKLY after arming it.
We have a dsc System with a local Monitoring system called Security One. They are awesome but 30 seconds after the alarm goes off they call. That is awesome Monitoring right there!
I have ADT pulse that uses a wireless instead of a phone line. Once there was a false alarm and we were on vacation and no one answered. ADT called the police and they came in 3:51 minutes according to the security cam footage. I did a test on my own after, and they called me (My phone is the first on the caller list) in 1:11 mintues
ADT is not a bad alarm company. It depends on your signal strength and how much money you are willing to pay the fastest cellular connection. They can only call you when they receive an alarm!
I worked as a service tech for them for years. I know every inch of their operation. Most every system they install has a long dialer delay programmed into it which means you response is slower. MOST major companies do the same thing. Smart people use local companies because they have more to lose when offering the best service and response times. Anyone using a large corporate alarm company is a chump.
If you had disarmed the system after the dialer delay (so the central station got both the alarm signal but also a disarm signal) would they still call?
It all depends on the central station. Most companies like ADT, wont call if you you disarm the system after so many minutes. Reason being is that the panel sends a cancel code when you do and they assume that everything is okay. Dont as my why, I dont know and I think its retarded. I just learned this working for ADT myself.
Not necessarily correct. I know everything about Burglar security systems. I had a system installed in my home in 2015 (Vista 20p) and they asked about the dialer delay. The panic alarm was set off on accident one time, and it took them less than a minute to verify the alarm.
Hmm must have been a lucky one. The Pro 3000 (ADT branded Vista 20P) has a hard burned chip with a unchangeable dialer delay. The standard Vista's dialer delay is changeable in field *50 in 15 second increments. Sadly with the pro3000 chip, that field comes up as E/E. I re-chipped the panel and removed the alarm abort report code and that fixed the issue. It worked for the time being however I personally don't care for Honeywell systems and have moved onto using Bosch.
our company is a family owned business that service and monitor our new alarm system that got replace back in February due the dialer going bad the system we use to have was 21 years old got our moneys worth
Our company is a New Company thats been around for 7 years and they are the best you can find rated number one by many reviewers and best customer service in the industry.

Riah Scholtz can I get some information about which panel your are using
They use panels with built in dialer delay no matter what you set it at.
Armed Stay

Great vid I always will and always have liked the vista and safewatch alarm systems.

Riah, I am gonna guess the sirens I heard right when you tripped it. A RX-7C and a Honeywell Wave2.

that is not an exit delay problem it is a Dialer delay problem

Geo Lai: Yes, I installed the entire system.
Mahew Melton: I honestly doubt that.
TheAmtrak321: You dont wire the siren or motion to the 6150rf... You just wire the DI + - DO and the same back on the panel
ADT Is A Good Security System.

The average time we respond is 15 seconds. ADT is a joke.
tbolt7000: Yes, it does, however its just not labeled. And for the siren, yes it was at that time a RX7C siren downstairs.
What wires do you use to hook up a 6150rf keypad, I have one but it didnt include keypad, siren, or motion wires :/ Great video!
2:00 for adt to call. Adt sucks
our average is 15 seconds.

Riah Scholtz Do you still have any of your old Honeywell equipment that you aren't using?
Im sure I have a few things laying around. What are you looking for?
Riah Scholtz Particularly a 6160V (ADT version preferably). Or just a 6160.
I know that I dont have a 6160V but I may have a 6160. Let me dig through some boxes and see what I can find.
Honeywell make a clone of adt 6150 w lcd screen and sound from 6160 and still compatible
UMMMMMMMMMMMMM, actually ADT makes a clone of Honeywell hardware.....
Actually ADT is a costumer of honeywell, dsc, visonic...
i have ADT when the fire alarm was triggerd ADT called 10 seconds later when it was broken into at pitch black night it took them 5 minutes to call
2 words: Dialer Delay
Thinking about switching to ADT
Poor choice my friend. Always go for a local company, even if it's not cheap. You wont regret it .
He's right. we take over ADT systems with our own cellular service for only 19.95 a month and our response time is 15-20 seconds
Who wants to wake up to that
Me. 👁👄👁
The intruders would of now robbed most of the valables
Mp5k
even1out: Umm why?
To slow of a response! My security system calls within 15 seconds of my security system sounding.
That's a shame he could have been dead smh 😤
How long did it take?
ADT.
Who is your monitoring provider?
Get ADT Pulse and test it :D
Dumb question, why do you have 3 keypads?
Two entries, and a bedroom. That's how mine is setup
Wow. WAAAAAY too long... another reason why ADT is junk... I have Pinnacle Protection, same siren but its faster paced...
that is way to long our alarm system is never that long they call us within one min to see if need the police or not
***** Same my company is the same way

That is a SLOW Response. Burglars could have killed you by now then taken your valuables. ADT Sucks.
