I work at the university of Nevada and because of this video I picked up trash all down the street even though it is not my job thanks spread the word, God is good.
John,You guys are so amazing.. I am always left in tears watching the videos..I have a heart to help others in any way possible, especially in Nigeria at this pandemic period..Plss wanna get in touch as well..Just wanna see people happy with a bit of kindness.. I feel it..it gives undiluted joy & happiness when giving out...God bless your hearts..
To Leon: My dream is to do what you are doing. Every episode has filled my heart with so much joy and happiness, and my eyes with tears. To see people genuinely being kind even in poverty is so inspiring and I only hope to be able to help others as you are doing, Leon. God bless you!
hello ZettPie - you can help others every day, share your smile, a hug, a compliment and hand to someone, that is the gift, that is the kindness and that is LOVE. I love you
I have shared this wonderful movie with the grandchildren, ages 3-12 years, friends and older family members as well as my junior college classes I tech....and everyone asks to "let's watch another episode"....appreciated by all that have watched...it makes one think and creates a positive movement to others..
Can anybody tell me what's that song playing right at the end of the last episode??? ""another soul wanted by anyone only time will tell if someone will come along cuz life and love has caught me in the headlights right in " are some of its lyrics.
I remeber meeting leon, i told him my story he was shocked, he told me to keep going and told my 4-6 grade classes to not bully me im beyond gratefull for him not just for telling people to not bully me but for believing in me
My favorite TV series ever...such a kind and philosophical destination we all should try to get to. I wish I could be a part of this...or may do it myself!
I actually meet this guy in real life. He came to my school to talk about what he does and why kindness always pays off. He was as pleasant to talk to as he is to watch.
I am watching this in November 2022, and just saw the part where people get up and say I MATTER, YOU MATTER TO ME and give others a hug. OMG..........I had tears in my eyes because just the thought of hugging the way we used to seems sooooooooooooooooooooooo so foreign to me. I realize, of course, that this event happened in 2017. However, the impact of being kind never leaves us, never goes out of style and is possible in times of despair, in times of corona...........in all times. Thanks Leon, for taking us on the journey to look at life again and smile.
Be kind to the ones who put you down. Sometimes it’s easier to retaliate to those who bully you but when you look at it that means they won the battle over you. I left jobs that were almost cancerous. Decided to change careers and feel much happier with my decision. It’s amazing how grown adults act so childish. I will never be afraid or ashamed to just be a kind person. Because it makes me feel that much better about myself and hopefully rubbed off on others.
Dear Leon, not only do people want to revive their own kindness... so YES they/l want to listen to you... and as the world turns, they will begin listening even MORE! Pearl, from Switzerland!
Leon is magic and he is doing the work. Thank you Leon, for giving your gift of kindness to the world. I am on a path of kindness and love by helping others move forward and sharing love in everything I do and all that I share. I share your gifts with all I can. My father is suffering and I introduced your show to him and my mom so that it's the last program they watch before they go to sleep. Your show is to help soothe my pop's fears and anxiety and allow him to feel all the love he has within him. I thank you for this gift for me to offer him from 5,000 miles away. I love you, #iLoveMyLife and #iLoveYouWorld
A friend of mine shared this video with me and I couldn't be more happier that I watched this video and the insights that were statement and made within, the perspectives and stories certainly help one to relate to them. Beautiful message as simple as it is, it's a powerful one at that. I thought of a scripture/writing in the Bible that made me think of this, that we (including myself) often have difficulty with Matthew 22:34-40: But when the Pharisees heard that He had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” Hope you all have a lovely day and love you guys and gals in Jesus' name
I never really had friends growing up. Hated having to be picked for teams or when teachers would say we could pick partners because no one would ever want to be mine. I got stomach ulcers in grade 7 due to stress from being bullied at school. Childhood trauma sticks with one throughout their life. But it just goes to show how we can take that pain and use it to fuel kindness and love throughout the world.
I love this video... I heard you on bulletproof radio podcast and had to look you up. I think it is absolutely essential that we share our pain... I've gone through so much pain in my life from abusive, neglectful parents to domestic violence in my marriage and I refuse to be angry or bitter, I'm picking up the pieces and plan to help others deal with their own pain; emotionally, physically, spiritually, etc. If I don't then what was the purpose of my trials if not to use it to help others! Thank you for your message to the world to be kind!
I have recently had two experiences where a family member I've had no contact with in many years, and a new neighbor (I'm the new kid on the block) both convinced me that they wanted to be my friend. Both knew which church I belonged to (37 years a member, so definitely committed!) and both ended up trying to destroy my faith, by attacking me personally (not physically). I had no alternative but to make strong boundaries with them and these relationships are not being continued. I am happy to be friends with anyone, no matter what their belief system, but I will protect myself from abusive behavior.
I have seen the Netflix program "The Kindness Diaries" and loved the program but just have a few things I ponder about...1. Did having a crew there following him around help with some people being kind and generous? As a follow up to this thought, Where did the crew stay throughout the journey? 2. Did the crew/his production company ever step in to help place individuals in his path to help him in the most difficult times of the show? Such as getting on board cargo ships and what not. I just don't see how an average civilian could just find a way on to a cargo ship or plane without throwing some production weight around! 3. In this video Mr. Leon states things about the opera house portion of his travels, slightly different than how things took place, at least on camera that it is. But those thoughts aside, I do believe in the Kindness of others and really did/do find the Kindness Diaries program very inspiring!
Just wanted to clarify the first thing I thought about while watching the show on Netflix. I wonder if having a crew follow him around, added to some people feeling the need to help out because they were being filmed?would ALL of the kindness shown to him have taken place if there were no cameras to record the experience? Or what if it was just him and one camera man and both had ask/rely on the kindness of strangers for places to stay, gas, food, etc.?
I thought the same things when I watched. It is a wonderful program but it only shows the outcome of a white man travelling with a camera crew. Of course, there is nothing wrong with that but as a black person, I have to wonder what it would have been like if he were a black man. I would be interested in seeing a story where they send out 5 different people of different races, genders, ages etc. Some with camera crews, some without. It would be fascinating to see the outcome.
This CHANGED my opinion of my self!! I got to see where I used to be mean!! I never saw that previously. Now I have to own my nasty words and apologize!! "I take 100% Responsibility for my self. I have not been KIND to you. And I am so very sorry. I was an asshole. PLEASE forgive me.,"
@Action for Happiness- Do you know if 'The Kindness Diaries' is available to purchase anywhere? I watched season 1 on Netflix, but it is no longer available. At least not in the US. I absolutely love this show and your message, Leon! The world needs this now more than ever. I have told numerous people about this show but cannot find it anywhere to watch or purchase.
When you are kind its a wonderful feeling. And it is as the Bible says its better to give than receive.A kind word a kind Gesture can save some ones life . Iwent in to a well known bakery in Melbourne Paterson cake 🍰 shop years ago .And ypung girl about 18 said to me do you remember me .Said No sorry idont she said IRemember you .Isaid oh really how ilived across the road from you iwas about 7 at the Time ..Ilived in Rippolea a suburb of Melbourne.Mr whippy was in the street and you bought me a ice cream with chocolate 🍫 dipped you were looking after your niece and nephew.Isaid why would remember that its no big thing. She said my mother was a struggling single mum and it was a thrill .When left the bakery l left with 3 coffee scroll instead of 2 .So when you are kind you may think its no big deal. But it can impact them like the Girl her name of name tag was Rachel.🍰❤️🙏
My first experience at first day at school 🏫 wasn't a happy Experience.at young age.Teacher got mad at me iwas missing my mother back then . Crying and she shook me and hit me with her hand ✋ and her ring on her finger hit my head .And thought at that age hang on a minute this is not right. So I kicked her and called her a choice word .Got sent home 😄 the kids were frightened of me .Maybe they thought of me as a Bullie.Or not the sort they should miss with .
I work at the university of Nevada and because of this video I picked up trash all down the street even though it is not my job thanks spread the word, God is good.

My question is the same. However, being with crew probably helped with people feeling safe and provide more than they do to strangers.

@@mssharmony Great idea! Or just filmed POV with their own cell phones.. ? That'd be very real.

PS A true friend encourages you to live your values and standards, and would never try to tear them down!
This has been really inspiring... I'm halfway through Season II (Ecuador) on Netflix. 🌺👍👍🌺
that's the way I feel too.
Genial y nos refresca que se puede dar siempre se puede dar mas.
God bless you 🙏
Would love to do... the same like you.
Great Human
Season 3 please!!!
