- In today’s video, we try 6 unique food items we’ve NEVER had at Universal Orlando! In this Islands of Adventure food review 2023, we eat several new (to us) foods from restaurants around Islands of Adventure and rank them on a scale of 1-10. We even visit our least favorite restaurant at Universal to see if Cafe 4 can redeem itself! Check it out and let us know what food item you’d like to try most!

What’s the weirdest food item you’ve tried at a theme park??
It would have to be the Fishy Green Ale I suppose!

I haven’t tried any weird items, but what I’ve tried has been pretty good because I tried food based on some of your videos. My favorite snack item I can tell you is definitely Central Park crepes, the vegan berry crêpe. That was a plus plus plus! I do wanna try the fishy green ale…in Harry Potter area next time I go …gotta try it.

Keep a couple of Zip Lock gallon Storage bags in you back pack for to go meals. I use them for Crepes. Sometimes theme park food tastes special when you get to eat it in the comfort of you home or hotel room away from the crowds.
Haha we love it! We usually carry at least one bag for our camera! It comes in handy all the time!!

The fried chicken at Circus McGurkus, the empanadas at the Natural Selection cart, the Pad Thai at Confisco's....all REALLY good.
We almost included the empanadas! They’re a favorite of ours, too!

I tried Thunder Falls at an OA event and loved the wings (I did miss the ribs, as I wanted to try them)! I'll have to try the chicken sandwich, too!

You guys debating the yuca fries was hilarious. If you want good yuca definitely take a trip to Miami. Pretty much any local restaurant will have good yuca.

Hi Anna & Tyler! Thanks for taking us on a food adventure of IOA. As I have told you in the past, I am not a big eater in the parks, but you two have certainly opened my eyes to some of the great food that they offer. That chicken sandwich looked very good. (Anna, there is a NFC chip under the sticker that your phone reads to track your location, I am guessing that you do not eat in Chick-Fil-As dining room much, they use the same thing.). Those ribs also looked real good, but I am not sure I would pick those over the ribs at the Hard Rock Cafe. On that snack stand in the Marvel area. It kind looks like a temporary stand unlike the crepe shanking in Studios, but one can wish! Ken
😂😂 I knew it was something like that, but I figured not saying what it was is better than guessing and getting it wrong lol. We’re hoping it’s something permanent and delicious! Lol
Just booked my trip for May 15th through 21st. Doing Universal this trip instead of Disney. Just finished a Disney week this March. Your vlogs made me make this decision. Heading to Disney for one day to see Happily Ever After and Tron, but spending most of my time at Universal this trip. Hope to see you there. Thanks for all the great vlogs.

I have to say i LOVE that the universal staff were quality assuring your food! Instead of selling you a stale pretzel or yucca fries. Also Captain america needs to go to nashville hahah, hot chicken is dunked in hot sauce and when ordered as a sammy usually just has a pickle and some coleslaw on it. Your sammy still looked tasty! Yall really created a monster when you introduced me to those pizza stuffed pretzels omgggg I crave them regularly 😂

Could you tell me where you were sitting when you were enjoying the chocolate cake, I didn't recognize it. It looked extremely relaxing and not crowded at all. Also I had to laugh when Taylor said he needed to test Terrace Falls for a to go box. We needed one too so I knew they didn't have any. The staff there was super nice and gave us enough foil to wrap our leftovers. Kudo to Universal.
We were behind the three broomsticks on the little patio back there! That’s so nice of the staff! They didn’t offer to do that for us 😂

I was told back in the day, before I ever went to the park, that no place will give you a to-go box because if it goes bad in your bag in the hot hot FL sun and you get sick eating it then you might sue them. HOWEVER, I "MAY" have taken ziplock baggies to the park with me and put food in it for later. ;)
That makes sense! I could see that food going bad real quick in the summer 🤢😂
I haven't been to three broomsticks in a long time but yea, back in the day. The ribs platter was the best bang for your buck. It was like 15 at the time and pretty much almost a half rack, corn and diced potatoes. It was a great value.
We need to try their ribs and see how they compare!
@@ThePughTwo haven't eaten at Thunder Falls but the chicken/ribs at Three Broomsticks were amazing, not even just as theme park food goes. That and the pumpkin fizz!

That trifle is awesome we had it on our very trip to universal in 2019. Our fav is the apple pie at three broomsticks though. Also chocolate potted cream is superior lol can't wait to get back in just over a month!

@The Pugh Two oh you have to try it. Pretty sure it's only at leaky cauldron. It's reminiscent of a chocolate cherry cordial cause it has a cherry on it as well. It's my fav!
U need to eat the yuca fries with pink sauce which is mayo and ketchup mixed and a lil bit of garlic in the sauce.

I actually had the same thought about that new food stand. Because the crepes are so popular it would be nice to have another place to get them. Three Broomsticks in Hollywood has Sticky Toffee pudding. I recently tried it for the first time. It was so good. I have to get that now everytime I'm there. Although I think it's at The Leaky Cauldron in Orlando.
We’ve had the sticky toffee pudding and it’s so good! And really big for a dessert, too! And yes, it’s at the LC in Studios!
The only thing out of all of those that I've already tried is the ribs from Thunder Falls, so thanks for all the good, new suggestions! I totally think the ribs can be split between three people, btw, that gives you more stomach space for other snacks later.

Agreed can easily split we ordered a side of their rice to add a little more food and the three of us were very full and satisfied
That rib platter looked awesome. That chocolate thingy looked awesome as well. My daughter and I ate at Thunder falls last year. The platter we each got was so good. I don't remember what it was called. I'd eat there again. Maybe on our upcoming June trip.

Yes it’s so good!! Lol unfortunately my body hates piercings! 😩 I have two holes in each of my ears, but I can’t wear any kind of earrings without my ears turning bright red and swelling twice the size!
@The Pugh Two the only piercing I've never had issues with is my lip. My ears were okay from about 10 to 25 but mine also now turn red unless it's silver or gold. My industrial GREW OUT OF MY EAR! My surface piercing acts up all the time but I'm too sfriad to get it removed, haha. So, I get it. I was just watching and was like, oh heyyy hahahah
"Why???" lol. My wife & I have avoided Cafe 4 after our first visit. I get why you hadn't been back for a while either lol. Universal does do potatoes right. I can confirm. I give The Pugh Two a 12/10 on the special scale.

I've had ribs at Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Both places did them well.

Yuca fries are usually about $5 for five of them in most restaurants. Mostly because they’re so fiberous and it’s hard to eat more than that lol. Black bean deli might give you a couple extra but theirs are $6 or something .

Hate the lack of value for the Yucca fries. They were mentioned in a video I think mardi gras booth last year and I had wanted to try.
Do the bbq sauces tend to come off super sweet to you guys? Since doing keto, that's one thing when I eat regular food that I end up not enjoying because it tastes OVERLY sweet to me now.😢
The bbq sauce was very sweet! We both likened it to sweet baby rays sauce. Super generic, but not bad!

Is there a way to use the food gift cards on mobile order?
Unfortunately no, but you can tell them you’re using one of the cards and they’ll take your order at the register!
Maybe instead of a crepe stand they could do a bubble waffle stand that offers both savory and dessert bubble waffles (like the ube ice cream one)

If your phone is dead they have to take your order.
Oh yeah! If you don’t have the app or can’t use your phone for some reason they’ll still take your order. They’re definitely moving towards mobile ordering a lot of places though!
I'll save the $5 for yukka fries and go to Pat O'Brien to get a basket of their fries. Huge amount and delicious!

@@ThePughTwo from what I've seen on reviews they're basically the same, but I was just trying to find out for sure. Aside from the kind of corn on the cob they use, the two locations Chicken and Ribs plate are basically the same dish. At least from what I've seen I still need to find out for myself.
With all the talks of potatoes, I feel like ya'll need to do a video where you try every potato related thing in a park. Make it a challenge. Eat a Potato Item then ride a ride, then back to potatoes. I'm sure by the end of the day you'll feel like a sack of potatoes.
