my foster brother's family all bring things to family get-togethers. weddings, funerals, birthdays. they all share the load. they will have rolls, pulled pork, pulled beef, pasta salad, green salad, Jell-O salad, dogs, potato salad, baked beans, cookies, cakes, punch, tea, and water. if that isn't fit for a king, I don't know what is. they have blueberry doughnuts for weddings. yummy and everyone sits and visits while eating. we gained a wonderful brother and son and his family.

I agree Becky, a pizza here in New England four years ago was 14.00 dollars, now that same large cheese pizza, is 27.00 it used to be affordable, and feed four of us. Now we don't order out, we are making dinner at home. God bless.

Isn’t that the truth? I was just telling my husband that prepared foods have become so expensive! I’m going to buffer up cooking from scratch… Including making homemade bread and expanding my garden! Thank you so much for your uplifting, encouraging, and cozy videos! Greetings from the woods of Oregon.🤗

Hi, Becky, best wishes from Texas! You are so right - we do lemonade, sweet & unsweet tea, and a big cooler of Kool Aid for big events, along with a BIG container of ice water. Sodas are just too darned expensive, even the store brand 2-liter bottles are $2.47 each these days, so we just provide cups, ice, and let people serve themselves.
I used to do snacks for hundreds of children at VBS for a very large church. Bet I have made 500 5-gallon containers of Kool Aid over the years! And they grew up just fine. Having Kool Aid at Sunday School, or Vacation Bible School, was a big part of my growth in my faith as a kid - I always looked forward to it. Good memories. I still make a pitcher of it now and then, especially when it is super hot, and I am almost 70 now!😊
Love you, Becky. Take care, honey. ❤ 🌴👵🐊🌴

My best money saving recipe is a bean dip layered with cheese. I use any 2 kinds of bean ( navy, pinto, kidney, black bean ) and layer them with cheeses I find on sale with cooked 1 pound of ground beef and salsas. Goes along way. 😊

Great tips! Thanks for your posts! I always buy Christmas party goods after the day, because I use the red for Valentines Day, Memorial Day & Independence Day. The green I use for St. Pat’s, spring and summer bdays. I use a lot of cake plates to serve things, because it looks fancy, even if you’re only serving roll ups or egg salad. You can also add one extra fancy ingredient to dial up your cheaper foods…such as, adding some grapes or pecans to your chicken salad, or some dijon to your egg salad. I’ve also found that bread-slicing a bagel makes it go much farther, instead of just slicing it in half. This goes along with another party trick to make your food stretch…just like using small plates, when you cut things into bite sized pieces, it goes farther and you waste less.

Thank you Becky for all your hard work for making these videos and your love for God and people. We use to have big family pot lucks but my family has gone home. My brother passed away unexpectedly last August, my mother is in stage 4 renal failure and I’ve have osteoporosis and not feeling well at all. I now have a fracture in the thoracic and scoliosis. I can’t hardly drive her to all the appointments or myself. I’m in desperate need of God’s healing. Driving is killing my back and I have no help at all. I would love to cook your very good recipes but I don’t even feel like cooking a egg. I try to eat but I’m down to 90lbs. The doctors here just don’t seem to care. Everything is stress or age. I just pray for God to heal me or his will be done. He is the great physician. I’ve tried to help people my whole life but now there is nobody for me. My daddy taught us to help people. I know I will be standing before God and I just pray he will say well done my good and faithful servant. I don’t know if I’ve done enough but I tried. I just need prayers from everyone. I know God can heal me and take away this pain. Thank you for your love and kind words. ❤😔🙏🏻

Blessings from New Zealand. Never ever had a home delivery of food. I make every single meal, breakfast, lunch and dinner and snacks 365 days of the week. The cost of food is at a minimum twice the price of the USA. And nowhere near the selection available either. The only time we eat out is for a very special celebration. Never have a beverage. Never had a dessert at a restaurant. Here in NZ you get charged an extra $1 NOT to have ice. No wonder restaurants are going under at a massive rate.

Another money saving tip for cheese: Instead of buying cubed cheese, buy the block and cut it up yourself. At Kroger, 8 oz of cubed cheese is $3.79. The 8 oz. block is $2.49. Same cheese, same amount, but less money. And none of that gross anti-caking stuff!

Do you have an opinion on GMO foods? I find it hard to make some of your recipes due to the fact that when I shop for ingredients, I check the items and find more and more items that say that they contain "Geoengineered ingredients" I believe these are unhealthy because of studies done with lab animals showing they developed tumors when fed GMOs. It's getting to the point where my menu of foods I eat is getting smaller and smaller. Would you like to comment on this?

There has been a rise even in areas where wages have remained low. Inflation is everywhere. I don’t buy the excuse that it is due to an increase in wages. What came first? Price gouging or wage increases… think about it.
