- Jameer Hosein, 65, was born in Freeport and grew up in a family where his father, the late Hosein Ali and his uncles practiced singing in the village for weddings and other social functions. Against this background, he became very fond of singing and spent his early years under the watchful eyes of the late Isaac Yankaran in the Naya Sangeet Orchestra.
Hosein who is a senior sales representative at Southern Sales Company limited now resides in Kelly Village, St Helena. He is the father of five and grandfather of twelve. While there were many singers who inspired him to keep singing the classical songs, he has been self taught. As a youth he spent many years researching and writing materials to sing. Today he is contracted to sing classical, film songs, bhajan, and gazals.

I was in love with his voice the first time I heard him.

I am a proud Guyanese and we too have Indian singers. That said, I have to say that Trinidad has the greatest Indian singers in the West Indies. Everytime I go to RUclips to listen to a classic, I find another great Trinidadian singer. I've been listening to Trinidad singers going back to the GREATEST ISAAC YANKARRAN, Yusuf Khan and many more. In my view, Isaac is the greatest of all time. Keep producing themTrinidad!!!
Love your posts of my grand dad. Miss him so much. He was just so very loving. Miss his singing.
LOVELY BHAJAN AND MUSIC MAY GOD BLESS YOU.
