I got 6.5 recently and my speaking was much poorer
It’s very hard for someone young to talk about topics like children, toys, screens, general ideas about children. I had a subject about kids and screen time, at the writing test and I was thinking exactly this, that at my 20 I wouldn’t have known what to say about it.

I can see many of you guys are talking about, why his performance is considered 6.5. This is because of his answers I guess. Not because of his pronunciation or fluency.
The reason for this is that when you watch a speaking test with a Band 8 or higher. Their answers are thorough, and they elaborate on their answers instead of answering in short sentences.
In the very first question, he asked, where was he from? "I'm from there", he replied. That's not the appropriate way to answer that particular question.
A second time, he was asked "can I see your ID please?", to which he replied, "Yes, please."
That should be answered like that. Here's my ID/Passport that I used to register for the IELTS test.
These are the best way to answer during the IELTS speaking test.

I don't get it when the IELTS examiners want to hear something like "Yes please, here is my ID that I have used for a registration" since the question wasn't about what was an ID used for

IELTS is meant to be how much you know about English Grammar, Sentences and many more. It doesn’t care about your smartness. The only thing matters in IELTS speaking test is how accurate and elaborately you can answer the questions.
