For this family, time to reap the harvest on every single pain/heartbreak/tears you have sown into your mothers life. The minute a person make the decision to walk away without a word, that is the moment that retribution starts in the other person's life and the heat is turned on. 😢 lovely to see how they react to what they have sown. Glad the script reflect the mother as strong to stand her side and had the guts to walk away and left them in turmoil. 😅😅
This drama would have been better if they had less talking and focused more on the relationship with her new man and new stepdaughter. I would really like to see more romance between FL and ML. Definitely liked to know more of their backstory. It seems like ML had already fallen in love with FL, but because she was married at the time, really couldn’t pursue her. I don’t know why many of these short dramas do a terrible job of showing real romance between middle age or older actors/characters. They should be allowed to kiss and show affection too. Also these long winded arguments about her not being part of their family or cutting off ties is a complete waste of time. I don’t really blame the actors as they’re doing their job but the script was not good.

She just wanted her father and FL to be happy.
This is my second time watching a movie where the mother cut ties with the family both movie were good ut my question is why don't writers make a movie where its the husband cut ties with the family I glad they are making movies with older couples 😅 I agree with some of the comments why not show more romantic senses kissing and hugging 😅 but good job writers and crew members 👏❤💙
Maybe because the man cutting ties is not as romantic???? But seriously, there are a couple of dramas with the man as the protagonist who cuts ties with the ungrateful family, but he's usually abandoned by the family first.

The only reason her horrible husband and children want her back is because of the housekeeping and cooking she did for them in the past. She was just a slave for them and now they miss her service. Nobody, absolutely nobody, feels remorse for how badly they treated someone else. They just feel sorry for themselves.
I don't agree. I think the son and daughter felt genuine remorse, especially towards the end as they began to understand how their relationship with their mother had held her back from achieving her potential, all while she made it possible for them to achieve theirs. They just don't know how to make her love them again, and they are stumped by that. IMO it would take more than a couple of years for them to figure out how to just support her without expecting anything from her in return; their relationship with her has to that point always been one where she gives them. But I think that by they end they understood that they'd lost more than a cook and housekeeper.

FL didn't leave in the last life, even though she was treated so poorly, probably because of her feeling of inferiority that was reinforced by her husband and kids (by their actions and words), as well as her natural tendency to be humble. The way they treated the FL that caused her death in the last life gave her a big shock to re-evaluate her life, so that it gave her the strength to break away from old habits after being re-born. Many people have to hit rock bottom before they "wake up" and change their lives - unfortunately, for the FL, rock bottom was her family causing her death.
I enjoy this so thoroughly despite this being 3 hours long. Totally engaging. My only complaint is the constant shouting which felt a bit unnatural- but overall it still gets 5 stars from me. Themes: Revenge is sweet :) kindness pays :) evil has consequences.. Please tell me the names of all the actors and FL.
They weren't so much cruel as selfish and stupid. They stopped thinking about anyone else but themselves, so didn't even realize they were being cruel. They were just indifferent to other people's needs. And did they change all that much? Even at the very end of the story, it's obvious they still don't know how to show love to their mother, which is why the final "dream" sequence is so touching. It's really clear that this can't be real, because they don't exist as those characters. SMH
Didn't expect the ending. It kinda sad to see what the family looks like if they treated FL in kindness and love instead what they did to her in real life.
Felt sad watching the ending. But belated love really no turning back time to the good days. Even thlse regrets and guilt had no used no more. 😢😢😢. But happy for the mom. She survived the bitter life with them. ❤
It's possible to build relationships on newfound understandings after situations like this, and I'd like to hope that eventually the mother will reconnect with her birth children at some point in the [distant] future. But there's nothing about this woman's story to make her interested in being the one to establish those connections.

Made me cry. Too bad the family saw her worth too late. I understand why she didn't forgive them. However, I feel bad for the daughter, she really misunderstood her mom, thinking she abandoned her in crashed car. Even for the goo of her child Fl shouldn't allow such a misunderstanding. The one thing I missed the most, was if we get flashbacks from the past life seeing how family end ups badly after the FL death.

It was all the mean & hateful mother-in-law's fault! Everyone absorbed that old witch's attitudes toward her son's lovely wife. Why are mothers-in-law so mean to their daughters-in-law? It is despicable for a mother-in-law to behave hatefully toward her son's wife. They should honor & respect their son's choice of wife, because there are qualities of his own mother that he found in the young woman. His mom raised him, & that's the kind of person he feels comfortable with - someone who has similar personality characteristics of his mom, & that's how he fell in love with her & why he married her. His mom should always honor her son's choice of loved one & speak well of her to others. Because when she speaks well of her daughter-in-law, she is also speaking well of her own self.
I like the scenes with the old family BECAUSE the children are so inadequate in their response. They don't even know how to express love to / for their mother. Sad.

Letting your own family be bullied in this way is more than unacceptable. A son who says that his mother is the biggest stain on his life, what is he then, yuck. I had more respect for the girl who accepted her without further ado, had to cry for a moment🥲. Very strong woman. She has managed to profile herself in society on her own strength together with those who supported her, especially her stepdaughter😍and husbandJianqua❤️. I didn't think the ending was right. This Huang family didn't deserve that😡. The earnings should go to Jianqua and daughter at the end🥰😘. much respect for them.
I like that ending... it's a bittersweet reminder of what they threw away, which makes it more poignant. TBH, I was satisfied with her story ending as it did, with her fully ensconced in in her new family, but I needed to feel the Huang's loss in a visceral way.
The moment in the hospital where the son just can't understand / fathom why the girl is so upset about his mother begin sick ... he'd never once concerned himself with his mother's well-being, and that is his filial duty as a son ... smh Also not sure why anyone would expect the mother to come back to take care of that old witch who mistreated her so badly .... so much of the family's negative attitude is based in her treatment of her daughter-in-law ... I'm glad they gave us the scene at the end where the original family is together and happy. It seems it would have been so easy for them to end this way, if only, as the mother said in her letter, they could go back to being the people they were when they were poor, before wealth and selfishness changed them...

What reason would 3 grown adult children have to despite their mother like this and abuse her so ruthlessly? I hope the writer has good justification later in the story because making characters simply vile for the sake of plot development is lazy. You can hate someone, but you dont have to be ohhsically or verbally abusive towards them to the point where it seems youre wishing them dead.
It's just impossible, I swear, for children you gave birth to and raised to be cruel towards you because you're uneducated and from the rural area. All 3??? C'mon writers. Make your conflicts more plausible!! 😂
There's a potential rationale for the daughter, and even possibly the first son, but the 3rd son didn't make much sense, other than he just learned it from the others.

This would make sense if she was the step mom who came into the family when the kids were in high school and they resented her all this time. If that was the premise then yes, this would be a great drama but with them being her biological kids this is an asinine storyline lol.

What reason would 3 grown adult children have to despite their mother like this and abuse her so ruthlessly? I hope the writer has good justification later in the story because making characters simply vile for the sake of plot development is lazy. You can hate someone, but you dont have to be ohhsically or verbally abusive towards them to the point where it seems youre wishing them dead.

There's a potential rationale for the daughter, and even possibly the first son, but the 3rd son didn't make much sense, other than he just learned it from the others.
