Glad you enjoyed it. You will have to keep it in mind when you start working on clocks other than cuckoo clocks which I am sure in the distant future it will come to that.
Glad you enjoyed it. I try my best. Unfortunately in every clock I went to demonstrate the setting was off. LOL. But I showed you in the end that I fixed it on the one clock. The Sonora chimes clock is going to be a challenge for me so I didnt want to mess with it yet. Thanks for watching.
@@munnerlyn3 that's why I love to repair old clocks as they are all different. I look forward to seeing what you do as it helps expand my knowledge. Haven't progressed to cuckoo clocks just yet but I have a none working one for me to take apart further downstream. Thanks again for your videos.
I know that this is late. Just figured out how to look at messages that I havent responded to. Beware that once you fix that first cuckoo clock that you will go coo coo for cuckoo clocks and will want to buy and repair your next, then your next, and next, and repeat until you have boxes of cuckoo clocks in your house of cuckoo clocks screaming at you to let them out and fix them with no more room on your walls to hang them up. You have been warned. LOL>
@@munnerlyn3 I know the problem..... For me it's Grandfather clocks and they need even more space. It's a good job we don't repair Tower Clocks! Keep the videos coming, mine have stopped whist my phone gets repaired (frustrating)
❤ thanks. I've got no idea about clocks. Have you done a video on putting in a pendulum on cuckoo clock? Also winding with the key? I'm so scared of breaking my new clocks!!😮😢😊😊
I have talked about pendulums on different videos. The bob is the leaf on the pendulum. It raises up and down. Lower to Slower. I was telling my daughter to lower her pendulum bob and I thought that she new what to do. She was trying to lower the entire pendulum so I mention that in one of my videos that I need to explain more and not assume that people know what I am talking about. As far as winding clocks. The best way is to hold the key tight. Wind it half a turn not releasing the key until the click catches the gear of the winding arbor. You kind of have to get a feel for it. Also wind your clocks every week. Use them. Lack of use is bad for the clocks. I talk about that in a couple of my videos. My clocks were in storage for over 5 years after my divorce and another 5 years or so in my house waiting for me to get to them. Because of lack of use it is the same way with a car. If you dont start up the car every so often then the insides of the engine gets rusted and the pistons dont want to move. In a clock if you dont wind the clock up then the springs arent getting lubricated as they should so in a few of my clocks I had to replace the springs due to lack of use. Plus have them serviced every 5 years or so unless it is a cuckoo clock then no more than 5 years and if you are a smoker or if you have pets in your house such as dogs or cats or if you use wood heat or if the clock is in your kitchen then every 3 years. As the smoke/kitchen/animal hair/dirt/dust because of the way the clock is designed will cause them to get dirtier faster. Hanging a pendulum isnt that hard. The end of the pendulum attaches to the leader wire. There is typically a flat piece of metal on the end that has a bend in it. That section goes onto the end of the leader wire that has a somewhat square loop on it. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
Another great video. Thanks Mark

Good video Mark, I've not seen this setting up described before so well done! Regards David

@@munnerlyn3 holy smoly that is a great reply. Thank you so much.💜💜
you are quite welcome. Glad I could help.
I prefer to just loosen the ratio wheel from the arbor, and rotate the whole assembly, then tighten the set screws.
I have never done it that way. Remember I pretty well learned on my own how to repair clocks. Other than that VHS tape.
