  • @davidcope2368

Ronnies action is exactly like a piston

    • @FIVE-0-APOCALYPTO
      @FIVE-0-APOCALYPTO 2 года назад

Exactly? You mean a piston stroke, yes?
Would you say that "exactly" is exactly why he is not why he is admittedly the best long potter?
Could we now dare to say we should not listen to him on technique for long potting?
If I said the answer is NO to following his advice, everyone will give me the electric chair inside a gas chamber.
When going below center of the cue ball, especially from long distance, that elbow drop piston stroke is not ideal.
I think Ronnie's career example is to be admired for important data.
It lends toward proving not even freak talent, can override ideal mechanics.
Ding is one of the best from long range, he doesn't drop the elbow.
Just saying, and I hate a pendulum swing for lack of comfort and flexibility in proximity to the cue ball, but it is the most accurate and believe it or not, most powerful.
Nothing in the delivery platform moves faster than the forearm.
Not a lot of range of motion though.
If Ronnie is hitting the cue ball before the elbow drops, then that is acceptable.
More than likely he probably is especially when his success rate is high, but the timing is very close and more than likely he is not on his times where his success rate is low.
it's hard to measure the timing of this occurrence even at the slowest speed frame speed on RUclips.

Are you saying that you do what he says not to do even though Ronnie is full of it because he does rock the stick up and down for many different types of shots but are you saying it works for him and not you because he's just the lucky guy in the universe and you are not?
If what I just said is basically correct then the difference between you and Ronnie is that when the tip arcs upward in the backstroke then it will have a descending forward delivery and that is okay for certain shots but when we want that vertical trajectory to not Arc down but yet we are rocking the stick then that means on the second warm-up stroke when you pull it back after the first forward stroke descended down now on the second backstroke the tip will scoop low and upward toward your bridge hand.
When this occurs, never pull the trigger from there, I myself have been working on those things for years trying to find something in that forward delivery that will make certain shots become automatic and I have never figured out a solution from there and if you watch pros play you will see what I'm talking about that may be on a high left of center trajectory can use a stroke like that but other than that especially below center there is no future in a rising tip in the forward delivery.
So since we never pull the trigger from there, we take another backstroke for the third time and this is where you will notice the tip will slightly rise again just like the first warm-up stroke but the arc upward will be a lot shallower and this is your green light so pull the tip all the way back typically to your bridge hand and deliver the q forward like you typically do and if you watch this with many players especially on the American poolside, watch Shane Van boning for instance or Earl Strickland two of some of the best players ever, and it's usually on that third pull back that they pull the trigger, and you will see that from the side that they cannot see of course, you will see a stick trajectory being delivered at a shallow angle and on plane and no tip diving or tip rising.... Typically and that is the same thing that Ronnie is doing and it's most evident when he is now running out the loan colors on the table and he gets to the Brown ball straight because if you watch Ronnie closely and he gets into his pattern and routine he either gets straight on the brown and now has to draw it slightly back for an angle shot on the green and the rest is history or he has something of a shallow angle on the brown and he either holds it for position in which he has a stretch out for the green and come to rails for the blue.
      He's like a video game.
Those shots where you get straight on the brown the camera angle is typically behind them where you can see what his stick is doing if you go watch his matches typically like at The crucible for instance and you will see exactly what I just said and it's usually on that third or fourth pull back that gets shallower and that is when he in a rhythmic fashion and hypnotic I should say as well, now accelerates forward and there is camera parallax and it really looks like he's coming in jacked up but that is not the case.
That tip is rising on that final backstroke but it is very shallow and finally, a person could ask a good question and say what happens if you now go for a fourth stroke which should have a rising tip on the forward stroke and therefore go for a fifth practice stroke where shouldn't the tip arcing up even more shallow now and the answer is no and it doesn't start over the same way although it does start over again but typically your XY position of the elbow is not in the same position as when you stand up and transition into a dress of the cue ball so the best thing to do is stand up and start over again because typically you never go to the fifth stroke if that is part of your routine and therefore you will be in no man's land and not in the correct position like you normally are but it will be hard for you to know that but at Ronnie's level he already knows guaranteed.
I don't care what tournament or whatever for the past 15-20 years when he straight in on the brown running out the last colors on the table he is dialing in with those arcing upward and downward indicators because that is mechanical truth being told to you in which the stick and your setup is not lying to you and Ronnie has been doing it the same way for years and years and years whereas somebody like Trump I believe wedges with grip pressure to make the tip Force downward into your bridge hand and therefore spine bends the queue and takes it up and back on one single plane Arc and then pushes that bent cue forward in which now with perfect timing the cue straightens out just before cue ball impact and he gets an additional springing forward of the queue doesn't he.
At most camera angles you can't see that but one time I was lucky enough to catch it with a camera angle that was somewhat behind him and angled upward as if the camera man were on his knees and that told me a lot because I was always led to believe that they are just riding it in their grip hand and along on their bridge v and I thought to myself my God the tremendous skill involved and knowledge of alignment you would need and it doesn't appear that that is the case and it's almost gimmick like if you think about it but if you've never tried it then go ahead you'll see how much skill it takes even to do that because you still got to get your body in the right position

Mmmm. Ronnie uses the complete opposite technique that he claims here. You can clearly see him in matches lowering the cue butt with his shoulder and elbow (the Del- Drive). This drops the cue away from his chin as he hits the ball and enables the cue to be delivered through impact in a parallel relationship to the bed of the table. It allows a longer follow-through and prevents the right hand from hitting the chest and early deceleration of the cue.

Against Yan he hit that legendary 73 break to win the frame playing impeccable snooker and in the next frame he misses the pink from the spot and crashes out of the tournament. Its bizarre but thats what it is.

No Ronnie, "vertical" is more productive in description, not horizontal.
There is no horizontal, either closer to or not, but never horizontal.
The vertical aspect is what is relevant, and what the cue ball itself recognizes as a force vector. The vertical aspect with timing is what dictates what the white recognizes as closer or not to horizontal.
Smarten up Ronnie, stop trying to reinvent the wheel.
