It’s because the xtreme 2 plays at 20 watts on battery power - when plugged in it plays at 40 watts and also there is too much mids and treble - the xtreme 2 has quite a neutral sound and I noticed at full volume the Anker was distorting and sounded thin
Excellent comparison. I own the Anker Soundcore Motion+ and it is a very good bluetooth speaker for the price. I was thinking that you might have been better off using the Jbl Charge 3 in this comparison instead of the Charge 4. The Charge 4 is a mono speaker and IMO the Charge 3 sounds better and plays in stereo.

It's a lot of distortion. It did fare ok for its price. JBL charge 4 looked bad in this comparison, and I can attest to how soft its volume is. Xtreme2 sounds loud and clean, good buy if you can find it at a good price. Did you have the JBL xtreme 2 plugged in? I read it maximises the drivers plugged in
the xtreme 2 sounds good at first but i can't enjoy listening to it for long hours ,parted with it ,now got the tribit maxsound plus, the initial impression was ok but then it grew on me ,i could listen to it for 5 hours straight without fatigue at almost max volume although i wish the bass was there but cant complain much for it's price plus its compatibility. Just sayin if you want a handy portable BT speaker at low price but doesn't sound like crap the tribit maxsound plus is a good option.

facts : motion + is louder, but a little bit harsh. JBL EXTREME 2 is well balanced and it has clean bass and mids highs. charge 4 is not loud but clean audio
Motion+ has the best Clarity and overal sound quality. There is no competition with charge 4. its like playing behind a pillow... And it's for me better than extreme2 and also they update the firmware constantly improving stuff and its has custom EQ settings that brights it up even more

The Anker obviously has a very steep low frequency cutoff to allow louder mid and high output, but the JBLs bass output is deeper with more bass impact. The upper frequencies on the JBL are also more distinct. Maybe with EQ you can tune the Anker to sound better.
Yes, with the eq tuned the motion+ is miles better. Its better than the charge 5 too when its tuned. The value is insane, I just got it yesterday and I'm really impressed.
You mention the EQ settings being saved. On my phone I use an audio app that has saved settings and they remain where you left them. Since all you do is pair to the speaker, you should be able to use the settings in your phone's audio app. That is...unless the Anker won't all you to use the phone's audio app.

I already own the Tribit MaxSound Plus and in a few days will have the Anker Soundcore Motion +. I just ordered a few hours ago. Maybe I will do a review video of my own featuring both? By no means is my Tribit my most powerful bluetooth speaker, but indoors, it is my go-to speaker at the moment. I have a feeling the Anker bluetooth speaker, once it arrives will take its spot as my designated indoor speaker and should perform very well outdoors as well.
I have Jbl Charge 3 and by default it sounds kinda unimpressive, but if you use EQ from your phone player it's a night and day difference. Amazing sound.
But I think what there saying is how the anker sounds louder when jbl been making speakers forever now and most of us is blown away that anker is keeping up with names like sony and jbl. When they mostly known for the powerbanks and accessories.

Yeah, the case for the charge 4 works. It what I use for my Anker. ever since i bought one, I've been using it instead of the charge, but had no case as well so used the charge's.

Does soundbox has a way deeper and resonant bass but Anker motion + has extended treble so it sounds cleaner and less muffled. The vocals are way better on Anker but the bass is better by a long shot on the doss xl. The doss xl bass is comparable to the xtreme2, while the ankers bass is more like the charge 4.

I thought also that the motion + is focused more on clarity and detail while the Doss XL is more on deep bass because of it's active woofer, which is rare on bluetooth speaker on it's price range. @@guilhe90 Well, battery life in XL is about average for bigger bluetooth speaker but definitely better than Onyx Studio series and some other bigger speakers. Also, the Doss XL was designed for home desktop use and plug in an outlet for continuous use.

Very important to consider: Anker gives an 18-month warranty. JBL, Marshall, Bose, most competitors offer 1-year. I'm planning on purchasing an Anker because of this, just deciding which one, although I didn't love the sound quality as much honestly. Six months is a big deal, one year isn't a long warranty. When I buy a bluetooth speaker, I'm buying it to last for years, not less.

Onyx studio 5 is definitely more powerful with much more bass.
onyx studio 5 won't disappoint you i have it, try the wking d8 its 50watts and has nice bass its only for 70€

I was going to get the Xtreme 2 but it's not as loud as the Xtreme which has put me off, JBL made a bad decision by doing that
with the recent update it became as loud anyway. but most of us that previously owned the xtreme, wanted something more powerful.
