- 05-03-17. Slowdive live in Chicago at The Vic Theatre.
Here they are playing the first track off their new self titled album, "Slowdive, Slomo. Proving that even though more than 20 years passed since their last album, they can still come together and make beautiful music.

Neil's ability to sing and play guitar at the same time is very underrated.
Seeing Slowdive is what I imagine it to be like when you see earth from space. Saw them twice in 2014 and it was the most amazing experience in my 41 yrs of existence.
Dude!! I can so relate holy Shit it gives me chills all over watching this....
Truly an amazing experience
Love the album. I see elements of all three of their studio albums in it, but you can tell they wanted to make something new and not just a copy of what they used to be. Slowmo, to me, is the perfect slowdive song for where they are now. Such a wonderful continuation from Pygmalion.

Amazing recording here...this show will remain in my memories forever.
This is a beautiful song, very introspective, very passional, ver sensitive. The quality of your video and sound are perfects. Thank you so much!
This is a complete experience!
Thank you SO much for uploading this!
Great layering of sound.
Wow!
It gives me goosebumps! beautiful
Tears are coming. I like that.
I LOVE this song and video so much, thanks for posting it
This is a great performance, Rachel's vocals and the ambiance in general. Familiar but different. But honestly I prefer the slightly faster tempo of the album version. Best track on the record by far.
Mark Whittaker no longer making time is
Much love here!
Fantastic! Saw them in Chapel Hill, NC. Great show.
THANK U
I was there!
Love
Seeing them in Copenhagen tonight!!! :)
Can't wait to see you at Laneway 2018
One of the biggest regrets of my life my was not going to this concert.
I was there for school in Chicago and I had been hyping myself up for this experience but I never went because I didn't want to spend the money and save it.
3 years late everything is ok and the only thing I'm missing is not those dollar bills but the fact I never got this experience, and I may never again.
If you are anticipating something and don't want money to get in the way... never let it. As my mom says, "Money comes and goes". Spend what you can on the things you think you want - and it may impact your life more than you thought.
I felt the same way. Thankfully they return to Chicago on 10/3/23! Tickets on sale this Friday 6/23/23. New album 9/1/23.
@@BlueTrain77 holy shit i had no idea! gotta get a ticket
See you all in the Riviera theater. I'll be the person wearing my Garfield sweater ❤😂

You a BEEEETA!
I must be honest. I LOVE SLOWDIVE (they have influenced me enormously and loads of other bands/acts) and have been an avid fan since the very beginning. But the new album, apart from featuring a way too much maxed out and compressed master, sounds a bit uninspired to me. I dunno, most of the songs are slightly chaotic imo, lack the awesome melodic structure they used to hide behind layers of reverb (now it seems only a lot of reverb is left). It's not that I would have wanted a repeat of their older tracks, it's great they are trying to renew their sound, but it fails to really catch me. Perhaps I need to listen many times before I appreciate it fully. Still, I'm slightly disappointed...
Surely there are some songs on the album you like?
"Star roving" is quite good. But I wouldn't want to listen to it all the time, like I used to with some of the older Slowdive tracks.
It was the perfect comeback release, stop trying to be a hipster.
star roving is the 2nd worst track on the album. slowmo and no longer, dont know why < 3
