You made a great point about how your age determines what comic characters you know. Being older I found it funny but understandable how you were clueless about some of the Bullwinkle characters. And you didn't know Popeye's nemesis Bluto. We me it's just the opposite. I am clueless when people talk about Marvel characters or video game characters.

Okay my hopeful theory for the dream works sign is that they’ll wait until the kid’s resort in Texas to then just have two 3D signs made cause it’ll probably be more cost effective since Epic is a main budget focus rn

Fun video. Not surprised you fumbled around the names on the Toon Lagoon tree. Some of them are in fact from animated cartoons, like Rocky and Bullwinkle and Popeye, Bluto, Dudley Dooright and Nell. But others, like Hagar the Horrible (Viking), Marmaduke (great Dane), Heathcliff (cat), Dagwood (sandwich guy) are primarily from newspaper comic strips. Time to fill in your pop culture history. And those old cartoons (Rocky and Bullwinkle and Dudley Dooright) were really clever--R&B was a bit of cold war satire and Dudley Dooright was a parody of old Mountie movies featuring Nelson Eddy and Jeanette McDonald (and if you don't know those, the cartoon is still fun as a mock-heroic parody). As far as the comic strips, I'm not a fan of most of these. Zippy the Pinhead had a slight underground comic ethos, but sanitized (bleached) when you compare it against R. Crumb.
