    Isaiah 13:19-22
    19 And Babylon, the most glorious of kingdoms,
    The beauty and the pride of the Chal·deʹans,
    Will be like Sodʹom and Go·morʹrah when God overthrew them.
    20 She will never be inhabited,
    Nor will she be a place to reside in throughout all generations.
    No Arab will pitch his tent there,
    And no shepherds will rest their flocks there.
    21 The desert creatures will lie down there;
    Their houses will be filled with eagle owls.
    The ostriches will reside there,
    And wild goats will skip about there.
    22 Howling creatures will cry out in her towers,

      @@sufiachoudhury3502 Excavation does not turn it into mines. Excavation reveals the hidden city underneath and will lead to more discoveries that we can learn from. More cuneiform tablets, more artifacts, more buildings will be exposed. Only 20% of Babylon has been excavated, and most of the city is still under dirt. There should be no new building done in that area. Once you build on top of the ruins, the knowledge and information under it is gone.

    • @sufiachoudhury3502
      @sufiachoudhury3502 2 года назад +5

      @@Emcee_Squared Starting in 1983, Saddam Hussein, imagining himself as heir to Nebuchadnezzar, ordered the rebuilding of Babylon. Like Nebuchadnezzar, Hussein had his name inscribed on the bricks, which were placed directly on top of the ruins, some 2,500 years old. A sample inscription translates to: ”In the reign of the victorious Saddam Hussein, the president of the Republic, may God keep him, the guardian of the great Iraq and the renovator of its renaissance and the builder of its great civilization, the rebuilding of the great city of Babylon was done in 1987.” Hussein also added huge portraits of himself and Nebuchadnezzar at the entrance of the ruins.
      As most Iraqi men were fighting the bloody Iran-Iraq war, he brought in thousands of Sudanese workers to lay new yellow bricks over the old mud construction where Nebuchadnezzar’s palace had stood. No one is sure what the palace looked like, but that didn’t stop Hussein’s garish and quick reincarnation of the old splendor.
      At the end of the Persian Gulf War, he commissioned a palace over more Babylonian ruins, in the same pyramid style as a Sumerian ziggurat, calling it Saddam Hill. The massive gaudy structure almost completely covered the original ruins, outraging archaeologists. Hussein’s plans for a cable line running over the Babylon site were halted with the 2003 invasion.
      Before Hussein’s reconstruction, there had already been destruction from the shifts in rivers and deserts, and still more from colonial powers. Germans took the Ishtar Gate, which is now in the Pergamon Museum in Berlin, while the French took ceramics, and the Turks used Babylonian bricks to build dams on the Euphrates.
      The occupation of US forces also damaged the site. Following the 2003 invasion, the US camp Alpha was set up on the ruins. Areas were leveled to create landing pads for helicopters and parking lots for vehicles. Tanks rumbled over the ancient bricks, and Polish troops dug trenches through a temple. Soil holding artifacts and bones was scooped into sandbags. And even the military presence couldn’t keep out looters, who ransacked Iraq’s more than 10,000 historic sites after the invasion.
      But there is hope. With the end of his rule, Hussein’s ego-driven reconstruction of Babylon was stopped. In 2006, UN officials and Iraqi leaders stated their intentions to restore Babylon into a cultural center. It’s estimated that 95 percent of Babylon could be hidden in the unexcavated mounds at the site. In 2009, the ruins and Hussein’s palace were opened to tourists. While there is much enthusiasm for archaeological research and restoration of the site, the colossal disfigurement may take decades to reverse.

The Bible says, the God of Abraham created the world and somebody else wants to rule it. If these false gods are no longer able to deceive people then these people will be loved and saved? from judgement. That's an act of love. @@longliveart4362 Well, it’s not like the Bible has a list of countries around the world that are blessed by God. Maybe in some way, but just as John 21:25 states, not everything is written in Scripture. Iraq is not equal to Babylon. Even if Iraq will prosper in some way, Babylon is in the past. It’s not like it’s Iraq’s fault that Babylon existed. Iraq was Christian long before Europe was. St. Thomas the apostle preached in Iraq, and the Assyrians adopted Christianity in the 1st Century. Syriac Christianity is still present today with traditions from the very first years of Christianity. It is said that Iraq was one of the centers of Christianity. That is until the darkness of Islam came upon these lands. Though Islam, is dominant, there are still many Iraqi Christians.

Babylon will fall again and forever, because God loves us. Babylon is one of the fallen angels who is jealous of humanity. He takes our riches and gives us money, takes our culture and gives us propaganda, takes our love and gives us community, takes our sanity and gives us delusion, breaks us all and gives us false identity, takes our joy and gives us happiness, and takes our benefit and gives us pathetic comfort that is the comfort of a prisoner adapted to slavery. Enslaving by the physical sword can only enslave a physical person; but the spiritual sword-of-false-values-and-human-wisdoms enslaves the spiritual person and the physical person freely follows.In ancient times such a spirit could only travel and prevail through human striving such as economics and politics and war, but today mass-media and telecommunications and internet allow the spirit to be global; Babylon does not require the unified place in geographic space that it required in ancient times.

      @@DBT1007 Alot of Christains and Buddhist are becoming atheists because they were not even devout in the first place. Alot of Muslims are becoming atheists even in Muslim majority countries. Christianity of today is different from the Christianity of the dark ages because of the improvements in technology. The original Jews worshipped Yahweh and the early christains worshipped the trinity God.

    Fun fact: the three monotheistic religions, judaism, christianity and islam share the same god. Being an atheist, I find it rather sad that those religions have so many ongoing difficulties with each other. If you consider yourself better than the other, you should be ashamed. No matter what culture or religion, our blood is equally red.

      @Timothy Blackburn Arab scholars made numerous important scientific and technological advances in mathematics, astronomy, chemistry, metallurgy, architecture, textiles, and agriculture. Techniques they developed-such as distillation, crystallisation, and the use of alcohol as an antiseptic-are still used.
      Arab physicians and scholars also laid the basis for medical practice in Europe. Before the Islamic era, medical care was largely provided by priests in sanatoriums and annexes to temples. The main Arabian hospitals were centres of medical education and introduced many of the concepts and structures that we see in modern hospitals, such as separate wards for men and women, personal and institutional hygiene, medical records, and pharmacies
