The exterior mic is for phone calls when used, not for ANC, which would have the mic inside the cup to monitor the noise that has leaked in, the opposite signal of the noise is than added to the payback (music) signal to "cancel out" the noise.

@@DANKKrish I know, I love Chi-Fi. Blon-03 is what opened my ears to great audio. Made my Sennheiser 58x sound like crap and ended up getting Sundaras and 660s. Don't get me wrong 58x are good but extremely veiled in comparison. Now I love the "airy" sound of my other gear.

It's interesting to see cheap headphones like these coming with noise cancelling circuits. Makes me wonder what would happen if you put a half decent one into a pair like the sundara closed backs. I'm sure there'll be a challenge with power and signal delivery (maybe having the circuit powered off a small battery while taking the signal from the main input circuit that goes to the drivers?) But maybe it'll be worth a shot to see how it affects noise isolation, especially in the lower frequencies.

Those grey ones have the best potential for a driver upgrade.

It may be something we have a go at one day but we would probably use some better circuitry than these have - cheap noise cancelling often just adds more noise into the mix

Yes, they were bad but still amazing how cheap they can make them. I have some ear pads that cost as much as all of these combined

I was expecting no damping filter on the drivers of the second headphone. I've opened some cheap earphones with the same thing, and listening to them makes you want to vomit. It is quite an experience.

LOL ;) - It was genuinely quite worrying. I left them in a metal tin until I can dispose of the battery somewhere
