I think the manufacturer sometimes build around things like refrigerators, that way they can justify the cost when they fail. Not everyone has the patience to do this kind of work. Nice job 👍
You might want to verify the gauge of existing wire is heavy enough for the amperage of the 12 volt new one. I watched a dealer replace one and they ran a heavier gauge wire back to the battery. May be okay, but something to verify. I want to do this as well, so watching you pave the way was very helpful. Thanks!
Compressor fridges use LESS power, not more. If the old fridge was a 3 way absorption, the new one is most likely fine, unless the old wiring was wrong to begin with.
Nice looking project. One major issue I see (and I've noticed it on several youtube videos) is that the outside "skin" of the refrigerator has insulation laying against it. The outside of the refrigerator needs to have an inch for air to freely circulate and dissipate heat. I'm planning to do a similar change out for a small trailer. Since the upper and lower outside air vents won't be needed, I was hoping to find some flush mount Dometic blank off doors. Nothing so far.
Nice vid. I would suggest you use 10 awg wire though as Everchill indicates in its manual. Otherwise, you can have intermittent shut downs when battery voltage drops a little.
Nice vid, I just uploaded a summary of my 12v compressor install too. A couple of things I'm noticing, first, isn't your outside vent cover upside down? Your louvers are facing upwards which would allow rain to come in at the right angle. Second, why did you go with a neverchill? I see lots of people very unhappy with them cause they're usually breaking down.
yes, you have to hold button til it turns off, takes about 10-15 secs , don't let go of button til after lights turn off , you might put it into service mode
Couldn’t a person take a 2 way fridge and plug it into a socket from a larger (2-3000w) inverter from a 12v supply? Yes a bit more energy consumed from inverter. But no need to buy a new fridge?

You didn’t need gas line Teflon tape. That fitting is a flare joint. Teflon does absolutely nothing for flare fittings.
Amazing how few people know about flare or pipe fitting sealing!

I've had this fridge in my rig for over a year maybe 2, and i,ve never had any problems with power, fried wires or fuse tripping

Impressive. Glad you had all the tools you needed. I have to do the same for my campervan. Thanks for showing every step of the process.
Nice job, keeping it positive and overcoming little problems. I gotta do the same on my rig.

Great video! How has the Everchill unit held up? Any concerns?

How’s it holding up long term?
great job !! with patience comes success!!

Always have a Professional L.P. Gas Expert Do The Work
It's not rocket science but a mans got to know his limitations.
Great Video my friend

Please TURN OFF THE GAS if you do this at home. Otherwise nice vid
DO NOT USE TAPE ON A Flare Fitting
How do you turn fridge off, do you have to hold the button for a amount of time.

Couldn’t you have just turned the gas off 🤷🏼♂️
Why didn’t you RUclips the uninstall??? 😢
When my RV fridge craps out this is what I'm doing.
I’ll not give up my cool with gas ability
You fridge doors are reversible, not user friendly the way they open now. Also those brackets are not going to hold. Just saying.
thanks for the comment, its been about 8 months now with around 2k miles and fridge hasn't moved or shifted yet,
You are being sold a bunch of garbage
