Elvis Presley - I Just Can't Help Believing (with rehearsal)

- Criminally left out of the 2001 Special Edition DVD of "Elvis - That's The Way It Is", probably due to copyright reasons, this beautiful B.J. Thomas song deserves better recognition. So I edited it out of the 1970 original version of "TTWII" to share it with all Elvis Fans. Due to the poor sound on the above mentioned 1970 DVD I decided to take off the original audio and put instead a crystal clear version taken from a remastered CD, synchronized perfectly with the video film. I also took the liberty of including the rehearsal of the song and of Elvis worrying about forgetting the words, all taken from the same film. These precede the actual, almost faultless, performance. Do hope you like it. Enjoy.

He really was worried about getting those first lyrics right, but he NAILED this song!
The most beautiful man in the world ever, with the most beautiful voice❤
I was born in 74 and I put a poster of this man on my wall when I was 8 😂 so much charisma 💖💖💖
Elvis has been gone since 1977 & I still can't get enough of him. His voice, his face...perfection.
I still think Elvis is the most beautiful man I have ever seen 💕
The most beautiful man that ever lived on this planet.❤
Perfection, Elvis this was the most beautiful song you ever sang. I just love to listen to this and I never tire of it, I play it over and over. Elvis you were Heaven sent, I wish you could have stayed longer but God wanted you back home where you would not suffer anymore. We had you for such a short time, but for the best time of our lives.
Elvis was given EVERYTHING but time ,💔
This is solid gold!!!my mother seen him in Dallas Texas in I believe 1974,I asked her how it was, my mother blushed and said son, my pants got wet, what man has ever had that much charisma over people
So beautiful. Nobody can compare to my. Elvis. He had a voice that just wouldn't quit. All these years. (45) and his voice is still being heard. One fantastic man. Elvis was and will always be the best forever and ever ❤ KING OF ROCK AND ROLL FOREVER GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN EVER
A voice like honey...silky, smooth, and sweet. Hypnotic. Dreamy. Awesome. Beautiful.
I can't. Believe. How. Beautiful. Elvis. Was. Nowonder. He. Had. All. The. Woman. After. Him.
He was enjoying what he was doing and at the same time entertaining!!! Luv it!!!!
Who's with me today jamming with Elvis!!
2021. I still watch and enjoy Elvis Presley work. Perfect work of art. ❤️🙏🏽
I was lucky enough to see him in person in 1972. He was even more gorgeous than any photo I've ever seen of him. He glowed. There will never be another Elvis. He took you away. He was a gift.
I saw him in 1974 !! Unbelievable performance!!! There will never be another Elvis❤❤❤
How I love the simplicity and humility of Elvis !!! No one else, not even “the English four” will ever come a little close to the kind of person Elvis has been. Long live the king.
I too grew up listen in to Elvis. Love him and really love this song. He was and alwa4 will b the the greastest miss u Elvis.
He is the humble King with class.
I am in awe of what I heard and saw.
The day the King died I drove my buddy out to Penn State in State College, PA to sign up for classes when they made the announcement on the radio of his death.
We both were in shock.
May the humble King rest in peace.
I saw him in concert 2 times it was the most amazing thing I’ve ever witnessed his charisma was off the charts it felt as if you were in the presence royalty. Truly
Amazing. ... how fortunate you were. I love his music too. From South Africa 👍
I understand what you mean in the presence of royalty. Here in England at about 21:35pm the Newsflash came on the TV saying the king is dead and so we ad to wait 25mins untill the News at 10 and that's how us folks in England found out about Elvis's death wayback in 1977, I was 13yrs I am now 57 .
@@giggilboy4837 A very sad day in 1977. The news hit our headlines too, full blast, in South Africa.... that was the news for days: the king of rock and roll has died. At the time the news said he died of a drug overdose, no mention of prescription meds, as no one knew yet what happened. I was devastated. It's like I lost a family member. Can't explain it, has never happened with any other singer. I grew up with Elvis records, we played his gospel songs in our home. My mom kept reassuring us kids: he had a praying mother, so the Lord will have mercy on him and he'll be in heaven with Jesus.. it made me feel better that I will see Elvis again one day... 👍
THE KING IS DEAD flashed on to our telly screen and off again then we waited 25 minutes for the news, so for that 25 minutes we didn't know what ad happened shot, run over, plain crash, then the 10pm news came on and told us Brits' more. Next day out on the street all the jokes started and us kids doing Elvis impression and curling our lip-up. wow that was 44 years ago now he would be 86, but he'll always be 42 .
I have been looking and/or listening to Elvis for 67 years, and I have never tired of him. Love and miss him!
What a voice , what a performer. I found it really moving to see his vulnerability too. He was unique.
I love his personality, his smile and all the emotions he shows when he sings ..
I've loved him since I was 4 or 5 yrs old and next month I will be 58😊
Love him even more when I watch these videos 😍
I love this song and the way he does it ❣️
I watch at least 3 or 4 times a week fantasizing that I'm there and he's singing it to ME......don't y'all laugh 😂 a girl can dream...can't she?
I will always love you Elvis ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Elvis Presley was the most Gorgeous man God ever made with a voice to match! I was 14 when he passed. My mom introduced me and my sisters to his music. One of best things she ever did. I have been and always be a hard core Elvis fan!!❤❤❤😊😊
Total magic, his voice never ever needed any instruments or anything else, just his voice, no one else has ever been able to be like that or will there ever will be, RIP Elvis
My favourite Elvis song, just love it xx
Elvis lives on in all of us who love him. Lovely guy, great music
Infinitely talented, infinitely beautiful, infinitely charismatic, sensitive, funny and with an extraordinary voice ... That is why he has not yet been born who reaches his heels! The KING forever
No instruments, just his voice does it, RIP Elvis
I do not get tired of looking at Elvis and listening to him.
Amazing, how anyone can put a thumbs down is beyond me and unknown
Many thanks ejayeff. I never realised what a prince the king was in rehearsals. My admiration and love for the man increases thanks to you.
So beautiful. Perfect. Thank you.
What a lot of people don't realise about Elvis, is that he had instinctive musicality. The beautiful voice... of course. The stage presence...mesmerising. But he is also conducting and leading the whole ensemble with incredible skill, getting the best out of everybody and creating a wonderful performance.
Just got back from visiting Graceland!! It's been 25 years since we last visited...and boy has things just GOT BETTER!! We did not stay at the large hotel next to Graceland (the Guest House)...but we did eat there AND DON'T LAUGH...it was the best hamburger this 58 yr old man has ever put in his mouth...no lie!! If you have not been to Graceland before...THEN GO....if you have and it's been a long time...GO BACK...you won't regret it!! Jimmy Lee
I am nearly 72 and still listen to his beautiful voice everyday. Thank goodness for Spotify
As a kid, I was in love with Elvis. Years later, I remember when my husband told me he passed away. The world lost a great talent that day. RIP, Elvis!
Wow shows his greatness! Not just a singer a leader! Complete musician! Makes everybody around him better he exudes confidence! Outstanding! Thank you! Bob
Just love this man. Amazing talent, charisma, good looking . It was sad what happened to him. The loss of his mom was the first of his emotional problems. and slowly the public clamour for him, fame and everything became beyond his control. He was made use of by the entertainment industry that cared for money not about Elvis Presley, the man with evergreen talent and king of rock and Roll. Pity he died of drug abuse. He is still my favourite singer. He is one of a kind with a unique voice that no one could imitate him. Original, that is who he is.
I saw the film in my home town / City of Birmingham in England (the original Birmingham)
I cried at this song and almost 50 yrs later I'm crying, he could sing a song
And he was so gorgeous especially when he smiled and laughed
It’s funny he started shaking when he first started singing then he just kept it up!
Me too. I'm 52 and I remember living in Memphis as a kid. 3rd grade. 1977. I heard my momma scream in agony. I cried with her and held her hand. Loosing Elvis was such a tragedy.
@@99tdtdtd you just made me cry. I was 8 when I was told he died. Even though I was born in 76 I was in love with him from small. Nobody had the heart to tell me he was gone because I used to ask my mum if she would take me to America to meet him when I was bigger. True story.
Best ever
OMG he was beautiful
Always go back to watching this keeps me sane nobody like him ever 🎶
I've not seen any Elvis stuff for a while and my memory of him kinda faded but I just watched this and instantly I remember why he was called the King .
I don't think anybody really truly realises how good this man was believe it or not but this is simple truth if anyone with intelligence would own up and just say it this man was brilliant on all accounts and no one will ever be better him and really he was underestimated he was better than you realise may his soul rest in peace thank You Elvis Aaron Presley for letting us share and know your talent
Most musicians will tell you he had extrodinary talent for a man who couldn’t read music.
How could he be underestimated with 23 hall of fame awards and second to the Beatles for best selling artists?
The man was a musical genius!
fortunately he knew he could always rely on his numerous fans, thanks to them !
God sent us Elvis....there's no other explanation...
As usual, taking your breath away in every performance !
Still iconic...elvis left us with perfomances like this...its been 40 years but he still lives in our ❤s...
Best Voice Ever
Even hollywood's greats rush to get a chance to see Elvis live they knew they were in the presence of the greatest singer ever to walk this earth
Truth ! He had met Sammy Davis Jr on the Frank Sinatra show. Later when Sammy showed up at his dressing room and was visiting. Sammy remarked about his horse show ring he took it off and gave it to Sammy .
elvis was ,is, and always was the king ,but elvis said JESUS WAS KING
Pavarotti wasn't bad.
@@davidhumphries1146 ???? errr...aren't we talking about Elvis?

Another masterpiece from the KING.
Beautiful! A wonderful historic record this
He had so much on stage. And he showed it. He can turn any song. Into gold. I started believing long time ago and I still do.
Great song 🎵👌 thanks in uploading this video.❤💋
You know I get in my car every day and put an elvis cd ,every day it's the same I cannot get over his voice,I feel like I'm hearing it for the first time, I still get that tingling feeling and every track I listen to it's my favourite till the next one comes on! I was 8 when I first started my love affair with this mans voice courtesy of my elder sisters I am now 61 still cant get over it😀
Same here.
He's not just one of a kind. He is the sole member of a class and he will always be alone in that class.
Ditto... I was 4 maybe 5... it was a long long time ago.
Oh God I love Elvis 💕
We , the world lost a lot when we lost him that awful day😭💔
I just can't help but wonder what he'd be doing today?
Fly High Elvis ❤️
We love you baby!!💜💜💜💜
Sandra Miller,
I agree 100% with your comment of a year ago...you are spot on...
ELVIS DID'NT LOOK AFTER ELVIS SO MUCH AS EVERYONE ELSE AROUND HIM.
When Pricilla left , everything changed for the worse ....Elvis in my opinion, needed the largest amount of support than ever, at that point..He was never able to cope solo, he required people around him...
I TRUELY THINK THIS WAS A MAJOR TURNING POINT FOR ELVIS....
A TRUE GENTLEMAN, KIND HEARTED IN EVERY WAY, FAME DIDN'T EFFECT HIM.
🌈🌹Blessings to all people around this troubled world..🌹🌈.,...
Greetings from Victoria. Australia..🇦🇺
@mary eyez
Yes, I thought his mother died from a heart attack, it wasn't it was sclerosis of the liver. She started drinking heavily when his career took off and then when he was in the army, she couldn't cope with him being away all the time, and thought she'd lost him. The guilt of that was the end, everyone has said he was never the same......
@mary eyez
At the end, I think he'd lost the will to live, how we feel for a man we didn't know and had never seen, and we all wanted to help him, is indescribable.
He couldn't cope with the fame, and it killed him.
I think he really died when his mother died.
What a waste, he'd be 85 now.
R.I.P Mr Presley, never forgotten ♥
Elvis Presley such a beautiful man n his presence such a beautiful voice never again will we experience this kind of music again ...that's what made elvis such a great singer 😘
Grew up listening to Elvis. He was an amazingly talented, funny and God believing man. Me and my sister cried for a week when he died. His life sadly and visibly changed when Priscilla left with his little girl. Thanks to technology his music lives on, especially for those of us old enough to remember him.
Yes. Divorce hurts everyone.
I think Priscilla was such a bad person that when Elvis died she went towards her part of the fortune
My wife left me twenty years ago, took my little girl with her and poisoned her against me. My life has never been the same. Losing my little girl was the worst thing that’s ever happened to me.
@@stevenyourke7901 that's very sad.. sorry to hear that. 😢 from South Africa.

Liquid gold, don't get tired listening x
he is so good looking, this song was great, loved bj Thomas, but elvis nailed it
Elvis looked so good here in 1970. then after 1973 his Divorce a cloudy residue clouded those beautiful blue eyes a he looked so sad a exhausted a lonely. ,,,,,he over worked himself. Elvis was good to everybody but. Elvis.
no one tried to help him , just so sad.
Oh he was a. Great looking man gorgeous 🔥
I don't like precilla. She is still playing the grieving widow today. I don't blame her for leaving him but she is still living off his name today. He was engaged to another woman when he died.

Today's bands don't do what Elvis used to do , there is just no one compere to the King of Rock, he was just amazing performer, he made sure the fan got his money worth, let Elvis live for ever, let Rock N Roll live for ever, even today , and everyday !!!
@Alberto Martin well said my friend Elvis is just so unique and entertains with every ounce of his spirit and awesome talent, there will never be another. TCB⚡🎸🎸🎸🎸
He was and is the best singer EVER he didn’t just sing the song he felt the song through his whole body x
This was great. Elvis had great sense of humor, too
How can one man be so perfect and sound so perfect in the same entity
I was a very lucky young fan saw Elvis in 69 & 70 Las Vegas Hilton International .My momma took me and my big sister thanks momma .Oh memories We went to the dinner show had to be 21 to go to the late show .
Elvis could feel the internal rhythm of the song he was singing . Watch him when he sings. His body can not stqand still. Always moving his feet legs and arms. When he felt you felt it to. And his band was always very tight and knew how to make Elvis sound good- Long live the King
He told several people this. June Juanico his GF of 1956 talks about this, The interview he gave explaining why he moved his body & legs. He said he wasn't aware of it at first. That it was the drums Rhythm that almost put him in a trance. Which history has told us that Shamans on peyote or African Tribes all work the same. If you watch him, its the exact same. DJ & Ronnie Tutt both talk about EP loved his body moves to be accented with drum beats. That the Karate moves he makes too. Its a form of meditation he does. Mixed with the drums he was in his "zone". He would be so immersed, hence after the show it often take hours to come "down" from the show. His endorphins were surging through his body. I was watching both his feet. It tells the story. The drums trance & the meditation for Karate put him in the same internal space.
HE WAS ON DRUGS
It’s his internal clock keeping him in time.
It was not innate he learnt it.

Love this version. It's the little laugh at the beginning. Elvis is the ultimate legend
I think he did that because the spotlight went in so close he had to hold the lyric sheet up near his face...
@@icanfartloud damn you! Now I have to watch it again to see. Lol. Hardly a hardship.
@@icanfartloud Yes. Just watched again. I like how he made a joke of not knowing the words. I wonder if the audience realised he really didn't know them?

How lucky we have all been watching and listening to Elvis he was a true blessing only God could have created sadness me when people speak harshly about him.
B. J. THOMAS WENT TO NUMBER (#1), Elvis did'nt like the song, and his version did'nt go anywhere. I liked Elvis too.Thank you B.J. for your version. #1. GREAT.LOVE YOU. RIP.
While I do like B.J.'s version as well it went to #1 in the Adult Contemporary (U.S.) chart but reached only the #9 spot in the main U.S. charts, #18 in Canada and #31 in Australia. Elvis' version was never released as a single in the U.S. but was released in other various countries the following year, going to #6 in U.K., #10 in Belgium, #12 in Ireland and The Netherlands, #6 in South Africa and #3 in Sweden.
When he said, during this performance, that he didn't like the song he was being tongue-in-cheek and was referring to his hard time in remembering the words as can be seen in the "Worries" section of my video above. And that's why his remark generates laughter from the audience and Charlie Hodge, because they understood what he was referring to. He would not have performed the song that often during his concerts if he did not like it.
@@paulbunch5657 I have already commented on this, but perhaps you did not see my comment. So here's an explanation. First of all Elvis never said he did not like B.J. (Thomas). He actually said he did not like the song. But of course he was being tongue-in-cheek when he said that and was only referring to his difficulty in remembering the lyrics, as can be seen in the "Worries" part of the video-clip above. Both Charlie Hodge and the audience got the joke and hence their laughter at Elvis' remark. The fact that he performed this song many times during that August 1970 Summer Festival Season confirms that he did actually like the song.
There was only one Elvis. Nobody else can ever match him not during his life not ever.!! He was an amazing singer and so handsome.
Elvis's records got better in the 70's, this one thee best of the lot, superb!
His rehearsals are always some of my favorites!
Elvis was so humble, an intellingent person.. and after all... as a talented charismatic performer, ..that is why he still is a singer of worth of remembering...even, after so many years of his deadth...

Elvis is the most beautiful man I have ever seen. I have loved him my whole life and I'm almost sixty. Thank you for being such a huge part of my life. The most amazing man. His voice and talent will never die.
Nuca ha habido tanto talento ni tanta belleza encima de un escenario. Quién le veía actuar quedaba impactado y marcado para siempre . Todo aquel que le escucha por primera vez...le quiere para siempre♥️♥️♥️♥️
My heart ❤ melts not just because of his fame but because he is just humanitarian for the world...he treated everyone the same.❤❤
But I can also listen to his music all day and his ideas.🕊🙏❤
I wish we can go back in time when them times were good
I'd love to go back in time to see him when he was alive. He has the best music in the world.
You can almost smell the electricity ⚡️ in the room . Even after all these years it’s still great and refreshing timeless the king 🇬🇧👑👍
To continue....people in the music industry understood and acknowledged Elvis’s exceptional talent and musical skill and memory. His voice reached from a baritone to a tenor....very rare. He was his own producer, it is acknowledging that he recorded that way well before anyone else. He was an exceptional human being in many ways. We are very lucky to live in a time that allows us to have recordings of his work. He is much loved and appreciated. He will be remembered and loved until the end of time. Rest easy beautiful man.
