- Every big project starts with the right preparation and this one is no different! Before I can start building my new bull pen I first need to clean out a bunch of things and tear down some others. Such is life on the ranch!

You always manage to find another project but you also give it 100% of yourself!!
Thank you for taking us with you to do your chore today. God bless you and your family.
It’s a great inspiration to see what one man can achieve. This gives me the power to realise my own projects.
Just call it the relentless work of trying to suceed in ranching. I admire what YOU are accomplishing.
I like the "Bull Pen Project" as a name for the chore. It's catchie.
I have cattle in barns that were once a straw shed and an equipment shed, I still always call them the straw and equipment shed lol. I also have heifers in my old bull pen, and still call it the old bull pen.
It's fun watching you as you take on a new project with all the twists and turns involved in it's evolution. I knew you had to keep your grandpa's trailer; it's obvious how much he meant to you. When you look for critters, I always expect to see snakes. I guess it's because I have such a fear of snakes.
I’m so happy that I came across your channel a few weeks ago. I actually went back to your first videos and I’m watching those, working my way up to the present. Your videos bring me a lot of enjoyment!
Welcome!! You will Love them!! Phenomenal content!! My #1 channel
@@allysonh6410 You’re the best! Always so kind!
Thank you Kathy I’m glad you’re enjoying them!
@@MRSFTR genuinely mean it! Made my day to hear from you. I appreciate all u do as well!!
Hey Tyler any chance you could do a video of you and Grandpa on the farm ? Maybe old pics or video you have ? I love that you are working the same farm as your grandad ! I miss my grandparents and would love to see some old family pics ! Thank you sir ! 💪💪🍺🍺🍺💕
Love the old milk Can. I have one from my late FIL left from his grandparents.
What a difference you have made on the barn.
Looks Gr8t!
Look forward to seeing the final results.
Great job…. Back in the day, I wish my dad had a spare wagon for all his treasures he might use someday. I don’t know how many times I got to move his piles of stuff from one building to another.Wonderful use of your granddad’s wagon.
Well it looks really good after you got it done, yeah that's a milk can I used to have one they're nice if you clean it up and decorate it and put flowers in it. 🤗🐝🌻
I love old barns and the equipment left behind! I would love to meet your Grandma, (just a short video introduction, doesn't have to be long for her sake) and some history & pictures of Grandma & Grandpa, your parents and you of days gone by at the ranch! Maybe Mrs FTR can help. The milk can from Crystal Dairy, now Crystal Creamery!
GREAT idea
My parents always had a milk can in the house… the grandkids got to use it as an extra chair at the table.. good memories
Your Grandpa’s trailer might make a good portable feeder for a couple of round bales.
I have a 6x16ft tandem axle trailer that I have converted to a bale.feeder. It fits 3 large round bales or let’s me push the loose hay to the front then load two new bales in the back.
The sides and the back I made 2x6 and 2x4 head stalls like your Grandfather’s original bunk line feeder. They let 14 cows feed around the trailer at one time and it works well for my small herd of 21 mouths And lastly THANKS for the content. Your videos are always the first ones I watch every week 👍🤠
LOts of progress FT, looking good! Can't wait to see the finished project!
How about a theme for signage on the buildings that have been there longer than you can remember? I'd suggest a "Ye Olde" prefix and the name of the building, "Ye Olde Hog Barn" for example. "Ye Olde Hay Shed" for where you store your round bales sheltered etc.
BTW yes, a milk can. We had several and a hand crank cream separator to go along with them.
Sounds amazing. Looking forward your end project.
I have no idea what the can like object is… Haha! Just kidding! We still use them! Great to have another project to follow along with. That’s actually a really cool old trailer. I guess some might call it retro, but it’d be cool to see it fixed up and behind the Jubilee. Thanks for sharing!
I'm feeling motivated to get to my projects finished, thanks!
Ha good!
I often think, I feel guilty sitting here relaxing, watching FTR , sipping a coffee and you working so hard. I've been with you since the start of FOR and enjoying it more than ever 🌞🌞 You're making a great job of the Ranch and Buddy is your lucky charm. 🌝🌝🌝🚜🚜🚜🌿🌷🌷🌿🚜🚜🚜
I’m looking forward to seeing the final transformation of the hog barn! It’s wonderful to have the documentation of all the changes being made.
I never commented on this because I did not want to come over as negative but man, I am glad you are doing this.i am a little ocb so whenever I saw this place in the videos I wished you wanted to do something with this place. It is already starting to look very good. Nice man, cannot wait to see the final product. Keep up the good work!
I love your work ethic and make do and mend attitude!
I can’t wait to see it become the new Bill barn. 👏👏👏
I thought the square metal box that was hung on the gate could have been converted to a salt block feeder. It would be portable and able to be moved from pasture to pasture easily. You should consider taking it back off the scrap trailer.
Reminds me of myself. Start cleaning, you could take a dozen showers a day! Always a dirty job. Your area of usable junk, for myself, I'd call the Lord's Acre. May never use any of it, but I just might! Always enjoy your projects. You do so much, minimal cost, most of the time.
Good video, looking for next time.
I wish I had half your motivation ! Great video as always. Hi MFTR & kids 👋🏻😃
Excellent audio! Great content 👍
Looks good FTR. Love watching you turn older stuff into something useful for you. Them old milk cans are awesome. I only have a few left from my family farm.
Looks really good FTR. Hope the bees stay away for you!
Me too!!
It's always overwhelming thinking about starting a project, but once you start working It's a great feeling. Did grandpa know how to weld?
"The work is just beginning" it's a good thing you love doing it. You'have a great imagination and the skills to make your plans happen. i would still love to see a video about the beginnings of your ranch and all about your grandpa, who seems to be with you every step of the way.
Once again you are making some great improvements on the Ranch
Have not seen a milk can for years .When I was a kid we had a neighbor who had a small Dairy herd of Jersey cows.Every morning these would be lined up for pick up.
hi to Farmer Tyler Ranch and everyone else too. Another beautiful day with an great video. Thanks for sharing all them great video of how you do your great work on the farm. Excellent content i always watching and enjoying. I pray everyone have a bless and safe day.
Thank you Wykeisha!
@@farmertylerranch4399 You Are Very Welcome
Always good to see and hear your plans for upgrade and repurpose. Your Grandpa would be pleased! Good job FTR!
I really enjoy your videos and seeing the progress you are making on your farm. You remind me of our old family farm in South Dakota with your projects and setups of buildings and so on. Had 75 head of cattle and farmed Corn, Soybeans and Alfalfa on 600 acres. I always enjoyed my summers spent there and doing a lot of the things you are doing now. I envy your new "career" a bit!! Keep going man!
Old milk cans are amazing! I'm a sucker for the old stuff. Hog barn is going to be fantastic. Looking forward to the process and progress!
Too bad you do not have a lid for the milk can. You might as well do any buildings repairs now while you have it empty.
Txs again. Sometimes I hoard your posts until I 'need them'. Xoxo
I think it's gonna look awesome when the project is completed. Can't wait to see it!!
I've always said a "dead" spider is a good spider!!! I'm very much arachnophobic!
Impressive. I can’t wait to see the completed project 🇨🇦♥️🇨🇦
Now that the new barn is empty, you said the work is just beginning. But for you it seems to be the fun type of work, the building part where you can use your creative juices.
Absolutely. Love a new challenge!
Huge difference! Things are looking great. Hope it will work out with the bulls
Can’t wait to see how it turns out!
That’s a great ole milk can!! Good job. You work so hard. Proud of you
It's nice when you tell about your grandfather. It makes me wonder what he was like. Are you like him? Did he know you got the farm? Do you have pictures of your grandparents on the farm you'd share?
Awesome channel! I having been checking out a number of your quality farm life videos (as recommended by Pete at Just a Few Acres Farm). Outstanding content and allows me to remember growing up on a beef cattle farm! Thank You!👍
That Hog Barn has potential. I look forward for ideas on my ranch. Stay hydrated and I'm sure you will find what you need.
The Bull Pen Project! Going to be a Very Nice Sturdy Pen! That’s an old Milk Can! Dairy Farm! Good Luck 🍀👍!
What a makeover. I hope the structure is built strong enough to withstand a bull tussle or 2. Always enjoy your building projects.
Ah yes, the goats. Who doesn't miss buck Owens and his harem .
I almost reached through the screen for that milk can. How amazing
Haha!
It’s fun watching someone else work
When cleaned out that Hog Barn is way bigger than what it looked “full”. Will there be another gate to be used as a clean out area? Love these videos of the reconstruction of the ranch, grandpa is looking down with a smile on his face. Great job Tyler and thanks for the ride on the old trailer.
Nice Video FT, glad you have the full time to get the farm up and running to your liking.
Vintage Milk Can., also known as milk churns. Keep safe friend.
The can is a milk can. We actually used them to ship milk to a creamery in the small town area I grew up in. They used the milk to make cheese.
Milk can. Can clean it up, put it on the front porch / deck with long stem flowers and sun flowers in it. You can probably sell the hay feeder that went into the junk trailer. Is always a lot of work cleaning out a barn, storage stalls and dismantling/ rebuilding.
An old milk can - you should clean it and have a farm scene painted on it for MRS Farmer Taylor -
That was a milk jug! You also may want to reinforce the exterior walls so if the bulls get stupid it does not recreate extra work for you!
I’m thinking heavy corral boards along the inside
Your Grandpa's little trailer, he used for the Jubilee, looks the perfect size to haul your 4-Wheel ATV to your off site fields.
The old milk jugs used to be antiques in the 1970s decorating upper middle class porches. I haven't seen many lately, presumably they became too valuable to keep outside.
Thanks Tyler you are one hard working man., I wish you much success to your Bill pin 7-28-2022😊😊
Thank you Marilyn!
I think it is a milk container. We call the backside of our chicken house the goat pen. We have never gotten the goats, but we still call it that. We keep our feed in their for our cows, chickens etc. keep the hog pen!
The old hog barn is looking great! Will the sides need some sort of protection or reinforcement? Seems like a bull could put a heck of a dent in the metal.
Love watching the transformation. My mom has two of those old milk cans. She painted them and uses both for outdoor decoration. I’m trying to get one from me but she isn’t budging!! lol
Good Job Tyler
It's a cream can. Before they had refrigerated bulk tanks, they would only take the cream to town and the skim milk usually got fed to the young stock and the pigs.
I’m so glad to see the progress how long has that been up since your grandpa put it in thanks for sharing all that you’re doing.
I’m not sure when it was built. I’d have to ask my mom if it was there when she was a kid
That’s a milk can. We used them for milk storage and handling before the advent of bulk tanks and tanker trucks.
cool project...nice envisioned plans....I think i would be doing the same pen size and locations for feed-bunk and water for the bulls.
I’ve got 3 similar milk cans. One side my home as a plant stand and two outside as decorative items in gardens. I really enjoy your videos and all your doing.
It looks great! I'm so excited for this bull barn project. Your mind is always thinking. That's a good thing. I like how you think! Excited for this project.
I can hardly wait to see the new bull pen.
Looks like a small milk can. We still have a few taller milk cans left that still have their lids. Decorative items on the porch these days!😂 Definitely looks like a project for the hog barn, but we’ve all seen your handiwork. Can’t wait to see your “plan” come to fruition!🤔
The can with the Crystal sticker is an old milk can used to hold milk & take to the dairy
I've enjoyed all your videos. I'm not real healthy and I really haven't been watching like I used to do, it's almost 5 am Friday July 29 th. I've been awake since Thursday 3 am. I have been catching up on a lot of your videos. I commented on several most were like 2 years old. I'm thinking 🤔 if you see any of my comments this one might be good. Just to tell you I do love the way you treat your animals it warms my heart ❤️ ha ha. I'm guessing you can't answer many questions but you are so knowledgeable about like with the the different lumps and I watched you get your cows afterbirth out. She's the one that had twins. I do have to try to sleep 💤💤. I do so very much enjoy every episode that I've seen. Also just so you know if I don't comment on every video to tell the truth I probably won't but I will hit 👍. Even days where I can't even watch I will hit the 👍. Thank you
It's always nice to see other people caring about animals! They are beautiful wonderful Innocent creatures! We have goats and cows chickens and ducks and I always try to treat them with respect and compassion right! Sorry you are not in your most healthy state hoping you will feel better ! 😊 It is good to read your kind words I read comments that are comments that other people make and it warms my heart so just remember all kind of people are reading your comments even though they may be late they are still appreciated ! 🙏
Can't wait to see the steps leading up to the end.
Put water riser on outside of wall drop rubber hose to tank...bull proof
Good idea
10 gallon Crystal Milk can. I have one from the Sun Valley Creamery in Tracy, CA from the 1950's. They've been out of business for decades.
I’m sure mine came from the Sacramento plant!
"I've got plans for you" - great teaser FTR.
Haha yeah I talk to myself a lot!
Great video! I'm watching it from Phuket Thailand!!
nice job 👍
Thanks Tyler
Thanks for the video, always enjoy watching!
Glad it got kept!!!!
Are you going to close up the two window openings at the back of the barn so bulls can't see what's out there and force their way through the barn wall? What do you intend to use the horse panel fence for? I'm surprised that paneling wasn't strong enough for bulls.
Yes I probably will close the windows. I’m sure I’ll find a use for the panels somewhere, I will need a portable corral at the summer steer pasture
I would not leave bull access to the corner of the barn behind the bunk line feeder. The bulls you have now may get along fine but a future bull may pen his mate in the corner and push him through the wall or injure him since he can't escape. Just use the extra space for hay or feed storage.
I agree. Bulls will be bullies sometimes. You can run pipe to locate the water in another spot.
Yes I had considered that. It actually might be easier to just run that fence straight back anyway
That's a milk can. I can actually remember having a milk machine at home. My dad saw we drank so much milk it would be better to have a milk machine instead of opening the refrigerator all the time. So he got one and the milk consumption tripled in the house with five kids! He got rid of it...
I can’t believe there are people who wouldn’t know a milk can when they see it. Guess I’m getting old.
I'm happy you actually got to use one! I know what they are but I lived in the city and my family had a milkman. He delivered glass bottles to our porch. Wonderful memories of days gone by!🥰
@@kimcwhite6509 I miss those milkman days and the nice glass bottles lined up on the porch.
You need some liquid wrench to cut that feeder up(oxy acetylene). That can looks like an old milk can, carried those many times. Love your videos!!!
An old milk can. My grandmother used to store baking flour in one.
Do you think you should make the feeder for three bulls? The way your ranch is growing you may be needing a third in no time🐂🐂🐂
KUDOS for a hard job well done.
Great start, you had me hoping the barrels were empty, will the Bulls appreciate your work?
They better!
It's always way better to do things the right way rather than to do it half a** That's smart thinking.
It's a cream can
My grandparents used in the 30's and 40's
It be a milk can . Dairy farmers used to put milk for pick up .
looks like a good plan
Great plan
It is a 10 gallon milk can. I carried my share of the full of milk into the cooler tank before we took it to the cheese house.
Great work, I’m enjoying watching the progress.
a great day of working hard i bet you were very tired at the end of the day hugsssss
