Can relate to being "in the zone" when it comes to air hockey. I once had a winning streak in air hockey that lasted for years. Nothing professional, mind you, but man was I proud of it. Even managed to end another players undefeated streak and pulled back a 6-1 game. Freaking love me some air hockey.
I was like this whenever we played badminton back in school and that was one of the only times where I really tried in gym, I usually would be the only one without a partner too so I would just be on my own and wreck all of them. This isn’t really all that surprising. Calli has a drive to her that comes out very clearly in her music and in what little she’s told us about her life pre-Hololive. And if anyone’s seen her playing video games (I remember Doom most clearly), she has a legit “reaper mode” where she gets super quiet and almost angry if she starts losing or getting frustrated. TL;DR, anyone who’s watched Calli for any length of time could have told you she’s a very competitive person.
Not really surprising. Calliope has dropped plenty of hints in the past that while she's pretty chill for the most part, she considers challenges against her to be of a very personal nature and therefore approaches them with the seriousness of the Grim Reaper itself. No anger or hate mind you, but pure focus on winning. The way Kiara describes Calli's air hockey 'stance' makes me wonder if part of her "insane defense" was the fact that her opponent would be constantly distracted by her pendulous hopes and dreams, looming just inches above the table and in front of the goal slot.
Haven't played air hockey since like 9th grade but I remember it was insane how into it people got. Sometimes people would hit the puck so hard it would just start flying off the table or smack the other player's fingers really hard. The pain was worth it though.
I really hope someone recorded the whole off collab and somewhere years down the road it gets uploaded and we see the girls as they were, having an absolute blast. I strongly befit would be the single most popular video on RUclips.

That's how you can tell someone has lived in an arcade with friends/family and had that one game y'all played very competitively. It's all fun and games but when it's time to play nothing else mattered but that. I feel that mine was billiards/pool. And when me and my family play pool, we've made others leave the area with how intense it was, lol. It was like a death match to them and we were fighting for our lives with how serious we were.
