I love that so many of you are following me on my Skating Journey! Hopefully we'll be back on the Ice soon but in the mean time I have made a playlist of all of my skating videos for you to enjoy! My hope is to post at least 1 skating video a month (maybe 2) hehe: ruclips.net/p/PLMOAprdJzJ6KjcX97SOEFOS3ETSNAmYRa
Thank you for sharing your first inline figure skating experience. Please consider wearing some body padding and head protection because falling on concrete is more dangerous than falling on ice.
I've been looking for this video. An actual footage of someone changing the blades to the off-ice frame. Great video! I'll be getting my off ice skates soon so this is very helpful
Wow tysm I’d love to start figure iceskating, however the only rink near me is open for just 3 moths and I don’t wanna give up, this might be a good alternative!
Same same! The closest rink to me is 4 hours away so this inline figure skates are a godsend. Although I still don’t know if I can skate 😂 But you never know unless you try
I looooooved this video!!! I also got my off ice skates this week and im wearing them all the time. Same for me, I dont have any protections yet and skating on concrete is soooo scary hahahahaah so for now im just walking around doing simple moves. I wish you could film more videos of which moves are you doing first so I can follow you ❤. Also the feeling of skate after so long makes me so happy!!!! Thank you for your channel.
So glad you enjoyed the video! I’ve got a new skating video coming out today and if it stays dry in Scotland, I’m hoping I can get more skating videos filmed 🎉
Wow that was so nice. Good luck with your journey with this beatiful ice skates. I really wish for one like them, but I don't know if they're Delivery to my country
Cool! Thank you for this information :) I just did my own ice rink hehe but I really wana buy off ice skates so this really helped... but I thought of buying snow whites... do you know about them?
Great video, thank you, I got mine last month but just been outside a couple of times because I was terrified, I’ve just tried to do basic stuff in the kitchen (very small kitchen) hope to see more videos, thank you ⛸
I used to ice skate like ten years ago and no longer remember how to do it at all. There isn't a rink around where I live, and I was considering buying these instead, but I'm wondering, are they hard to use for someone who basically has no knowledge of ice skating or is it only for people who skate regularly and want a means of practicing on ground? Please let me know, I really am thinking about getting these but I don't know if they'd be a good match for someone basically completely re-learning how to skate...
I think they would be a great option for you! Just before ordering, if you are planning on skating outside, find an area near you that smooth and flat. as long as you have somewhere like that, it would be great!
Hi! Thanks for also putting in the footage of you mounting the off-ice skates. Bit of a long shot that you'll see this but I haven't seen anywhere with this information so here goes - did you have to drill new holes into your boots to mount the off-ice skates, or did they fit into your skate blade holes?
I am thinking about getting the Off Ice frame set, and I am just worried about the stopper wearing down. Does that happen? And if it does how long until you would need to change it?
I think this is totally down to usage and surface. And they will need replaced. but from what i've seen online they literally wear away to the point where the rubber is ver close to the mental and then you change them. But basically the more you use them on a ruffer surface, the sooner i think you will need to change them
Thank you for this video ! I see that you chose a 4-wheels plate. May I ask why ? I see a lot of 3-wheels plates and some 4-wheels like yours, but I can’t find the difference anywhere. Thank you 😊
I alleays thought ice skating was pretty easy, but then I tried rollerblades and it was easy too, but then si tried rollerskates and I think it was super hard because I just keept falling backwards, Even I practised I felt I had no controll at all and it was to dangerous for me, I almost wondered if the scates was too big, because it was so much harder, anyways I wonder if these skates Are hard to be standing on? I am not professional
It is not fair that we have to practice our beautiful sport in parking l. Pubs opened, but no ice rinks. Our needs are not taken into account. Im so angry. 5 months without training on the ice. We lost our entire competotion session, BIS fees are not repaying.
Yeah i relicensed as a coach in March, and haven't been able to coach (so thats a big waste of money). Competition fees haven't been refunded as the hope is that they can reschedule. My Home rink may not be open until next year. Roller skates will do not now - I'm very thankful i have them, but its not the same xx
Have you contacted with Bis about this case ? Closed ice rinks mean wasted years of training and lack of work for many coaches. Young athletes have to go to the bars and drink beer or eat meals for half free, this is supposed to be the future for young people ??? I'm so mad. It's just about money. Ice rinks don't make that much profit as , pubs. Nobody cares about as. Our efforts, our money, who cares....
Okay so this probably sounds like an idiotic question, but I finally got my off-ice skates a few weeks ago and how do you stop?! It seems like every option you have on ice would chew up the wheels (aside maybe from a hockey stop but I fell spectacularly trying that!) Any thoughts welcome: these seem pretty great aside from that.
I personally find a T stop and a toe drag to be the easiest. I think some wear and tear on your wheels is expected, but from what i've been told, finding a smooth surface is your best bet for keeping your wheels for longer
@@SuperSymo Okay cool - T-stop is my preferred stop, it just seemed all wrong to do it on wheels. I was experimenting w the toe "pick" which works if I'm going slowly enough, but I wouldn't use that at any kind of speed! And at the moment, I'm using them on a basketball/tennis court so smoother than a parking lot but it will wear them down. Anyway, thanks for the quick answer!
Hi!! I had lessons for a few years (enough to know a few jumps) but had to stop because they didn’t allow figure skaters anymore. I found about these and I really want them but I don’t know where to buy ones that have four wheels (all the ones I see have three wheels I mean unless there’s no difference? Four wheels just look nicer in my opinion) can you please tell me what website you got these from? ❤️❤️
I bought them from off-ice skates.com I’ve seen other kinds and I’m not sure which are the best if I’m honest. I went with these because they were reasonably priced and uk based
How different is it? I’m starting ice and roller skating (had a few goes at each in the last few weeks) but I want to learn ice skating properly/take lessons. Would practicing on land help with ice techniques (especially edges, but I know they both have a different concept). But I’m interested in can I do both or will it hinder my progress?

@@SuperSymo Yes unfortunately. I have been ice skating for a few years and my new skates look really messed up after 3 months of use. I was thinking about buying Off ice skates but I was worried that the hard ground would ruin them entirely!

It will hopefully be back in stock soon!

If it helps, ice is harder than concrete! I would still wear knee/elbow pads to prevent scrapes :)
exact same thing happened to me except mine only just came yesterday consider yourself lucky haha
At least we have them now! 😁
I may want this if it works well. I first learned to ice skate and have improved equally by doing both inline roller blade and ice skating.

I would check, there are a lot of different companies that ship!
Awesome video ^_^ I've not skated for years but it's really got me thinking of getting a pair at some point with all the rinks being shut.
I miss the rinks so much! - If only it was dryer in scotland and i could use my roller skates more!

It’s scary! If it rains I’ll maybe try it in the kitchen 😂
My boots are quite advanced, but they would work with any boots

I can't find these skates in AU. I was considering doing the same as you and putting it together on an older boot. You make it look easy!

Do you have any tips for off ice skating
I want to know where did you buy those wheels!!
From a company called off ice skates
Can you do all the elements of figure skating in them?
Spins are tough but with practice you can do everything
