California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) issued a statewide stay-at-home order starting March 20. In Los Angeles, beaches are already empty and normally crowded streets are suddenly free of traffic.

Well we know that viruses ( and many other prokaryotes) have incredibly fast rates of reproduction...I believe it is often in the hundreds of times faster than our reproductive cycle. That also means hundreds of times more chances for mutations to occur.
