On the surface, one is one of the Commune's top international agents, while the other a captain of one of Republican France’s premier special operations teams. But if you look a little deeper, if you focus on the details, you'll see them for who they are; a man trying to bring back a world long gone, one where his wife and son was still with him, where his country, his republic remained strong; and a woman seeking to bring about a new world never before seen, one where a husband's love is enough to keep him faithful, where love can keep a family together.
@@kaisercatcinema Hi Kaisercat. I've been studying this timeline for over 2 years now. Can you make a video on the world in the present day in a documentary form detailing the battles of this alternate ww2? If you were to ask me what the outcome of that would be, it would have to be this: Internationale victory ONLY if The Combined Syndicates of America wins the civil war and sends its troops to France to help the syndicalist war effort and also offers a lend-lease equivalent to fascist Russia in their effort to "liberate" eastern Europe from the German empire. That seems likely as the Combined Syndicates seem to be the most likely faction to win the civil war and destroy German and Canadian reinforcements. Also, who has blitzkrieg ITTL? Is it Germany, France, or Russia? I would really like to know your answer! Sincerely, Ken
@@thorpeaaron1110 They can, but they would be crushed by the syndicalists before they can do that. Operation Dagger, the syndicalist operation to cut the union state in half began on April 4, 1937 by the Combined Syndicates, supported by British and French International forces and backed up by black uprisings within the deep south chopped the country in half in less than 8 weeks. Syndicalist shock troops made contact with black partisans to further help their cause. German forces actually played an important role in the defense of Atlanta, which began on June 13, 1937 and of course, ended with a syndicalist victory. The Germans inflicted heavy losses on the advancing syndicalists, but they were eventually outflanked and encircled. They surrendered on August 8, 1937. That culminating with the assasination of Huey Long by syndicalist special forces lead to the rapid collapse of the American Union State.

@@MrRrusiii _war invasion annexation & forced germanization of Alsace Lorraine_ Cool story. Still not nearly the same situation the Soviet Union found itself in. The Civil War decimated what little of the industrial working class it had, damaged the meager concentrations of industry in cities, brought about famines, and led to an intervention force of no less than 13 nations. On top of that, many nations outright refused to recognize and deal with the Soviets until the Great Depression. It ended up in the Soviets being a hollowed-out pariah state which needed to industrialize yesterday to stave off invasion, as shown by 1941. By contrast, France was already a developed country with an established proletariat (and proletarian institutions) which experienced a far less severe civil war with the Germans deliberately deciding against intervening. Also, they're redoing the war so that Alsace-Lorraine isn't the cause. _The preferable outcome of wars of Imperial competition are the defeat of growing upstart Empires, which would maintain the rate of parallel development in subject colonies, leading to sooner decolonization and a greater likelihood of peaceful transitions_ Contrary to history. Britain and France didn't decolonize out of their own volition. They decolonized because both world wars had damaged their empires in a variety of ways, had stirred the pot for independence movements (ie the Bengal Famine in India) and led to the ascendance of two main powers, both of which (through different means) would put pressure them until maintaining their colonies wasn't worth the trouble. _if steady progress of material conditions is the best outcome, not to mention post war social progress, u want an entente victory._ No. As we've seen, extractive colonies aren't developed for anything other than extractive enterprise. It was only when the cold war's threat of communism forced the West to actual foster developmentalism that this would change, and then receded predictably once the Soviets declined in power. As we've seen from the neocolonization of Africa today, the West has no interest in developing nations aside from profit. Turning them into self-sufficient countries which could assert themselves runs contrary to that. In fact, placing them under IMF austerity and ruining their local industries is the opposite. At best, you'd get a worse version of today's world, with some colonies still being colonies. By contrast, the Third International expressly emphasizes developmentalism, both for ideological reasons and to develop a power base for the international socialist movement. By far, a Third International victory would be preferable for the former colonies than the likes of Petain or Goering. _also if patriotism is fine and good for Russia and China , then why dismiss French patriotism ???_ The hell does that have to do with what I said? _National France is not a democratic paradise, but it is the French Third Republic. a functioning democracy relies on the strength of legitimate institutions. the only legitimate institution in the commune is the army, and it is an army that mutinied against the previous state authority_ National France is a literal military junta relying on the brute force of the "legitimacy" of a government which brought about its own ruin, leading over an oppressed population which isn't even majority French nor desires to be. Fat lot of good those "institutions" would do. Also, the part about a "functioning democracy" relying on legitimacy is as far from the truth as you can get. It ignores that the first liberal revolutions (French First Republic) certainly lacked any sort of legitimacy of the old regimes to begin with, but had seized or developed their own. Likewise, the worker soviets in the Russian Empire came to be seen as more legitimate than the old Empire and later Provisional Government, which is where the Bolsheviks derived their power from. In Kaiserreich, for France, it was the trade union federations and soldier groups which led the charge. They supplanted the old with the new.
While a kingdom, Spain has a very large anarcho-syndicalist movement that rises up in the civil war. Portugal is a reactionary absolute monarchy, but they can’t change ideologies naturally.

She addresses this in the video though, doing that wouldn't help the common people of France in any way, it would only serve the interests of the elite, so in their view there was no point.

The preferable outcome of wars of Imperial competition are the defeat of growing upstart Empires, which would maintain the rate of parallel development in subject colonies, leading to sooner decolonization and a greater likelihood of peaceful transitions
if steady progress of material conditions is the best outcome, not to mention post war social progress, u want an entente victory.

@@MrRrusiii
_war
invasion
annexation & forced germanization of Alsace Lorraine_
Cool story.
_The preferable outcome of wars of Imperial competition are the defeat of growing upstart Empires, which would maintain the rate of parallel development in subject colonies, leading to sooner decolonization and a greater likelihood of peaceful transitions_
Contrary to history.
_if steady progress of material conditions is the best outcome, not to mention post war social progress, u want an entente victory._
No.
_also if patriotism is fine and good for Russia and China , then why dismiss French patriotism ???_
The hell does that have to do with what I said?
_National France is not a democratic paradise, but it is the French Third Republic. a functioning democracy relies on the strength of legitimate institutions. the only legitimate institution in the commune is the army, and it is an army that mutinied against the previous state authority_
National France is a literal military junta relying on the brute force of the "legitimacy" of a government which brought about its own ruin, leading over an oppressed population which isn't even majority French nor desires to be.
