@@dragonflymarcus Honestly, I think you underplayed Jiaoqiu's "overarching value" considering his potential synergy with Dr. Ratio, Jingliu, Jung Yuan, and many more. While the overall damage increase he provides may be lower than sparkle per character, his teamwide potential is better. An example is RAT FuA without Robin. You'd probably rather have Kazu-- JQ over Sparkle. I believe Sparkle is a character you should only pull if you have a team in mind for her already (especially considering Robin will be getting a rerun soon too and is a better general buffer), but do you! All the best in your Pulls. (Who knows, maybe you get one early and can get both!!)
there's an interesting conversation to be had with skipping sparkle for robin, as she can SURPASS sparkle in her own "best" comps IF you can give robin 100% ult uptime the main way this is done is through a gallagher with quid pro quo

DHIL is her only BiS team right now (besides mono-Quantum which kinda sucks atm), the only other carry she gets used with is E2 Acheron. Yes she works with someone like Jingyuan, but he's not super meta right now and he has plenty of other support options. As soon as we get a new Quantum DPS Sparkle will be S+ Tier.
after a little research i got this - e0 jiaoqiu is as good as topaz e1s1 for ratio team - yunli and argenti both benefit from jiaoqiu, yunlis best team includes him - feixiao also works with him for the ult vulnerability -he works better than pela in EVERY team, so if your ruan mei/robin is busy, he's your guy -he is as universal as ruan mei so although he isnt as good as her in some teams, he is still better than any f2p option and ofc, he also has a fluffy tail

I already have a well built Bronya and a Robin so I don't feel the need to pull for Sparkle. Therefore I will pull for Jiaoqiu. I would also like to get Lingsha but I'm hoping for a Kafka rerun soon so I'll save for her instead to build a DoT team with Black Swan
I am skipping Lingsha as I do not need another sustainer and I want Feixiao though I do not have Robin yet. I will build the team slowly if it turns out she is really good and is at least as good as boothill. Not going to pull on animation only though Feixiao animations/style is top shelf and jaw dropping sexy
I already have Sparkle so I will go for Jiaqiou. Also about using Sparkle with Acheron, you forgot that it is only viable if you have Acheron E2 because one of Acheron ascension passives made her to require 2 nihility characters in her team but that problem is solve with her E2, however I agree thw fact that overall Sparkle gives more value than Jiaqiou in hypercarry teams, specially for new players who only have one harmony five star of doesn't have any five star harmony character.
But what if I have E2S1 Bronya? lol I skipped Sparkle due to my first Bronya and then lost my 50/50 getting the eidolons haha. I don't have a need for Sparkle atm that I can think of. Still worth getting Sparkle?
While speed tuning is important, I generally find that Sparkle specifically just feels better being as fast as possible. It especially helps in cases where enemies decrease speed so there are of times she might end up actually end up behind your DPS but that’s also fine. Also if she has something like Dance Dance Dance then it’s pretty hard for her to fail at her job. 😅
very much agree !! I do think -1 speed Sparkle can be a bit more situational than just going ham with her speed and having her yoink your team around repeatedly (especially depending on the carry), but also as a boothill lover, I'm a sucker for -1 speed teams, heeheeheehee
i heard the new enemies is so damn fast having like 154spd and can action advance 100%, so if yall gonna get sparkle, better get ready with 160+ spd relic xD.

Just like everything else in the game, buffs depends on who you're buffing. Sparkle is a great buffer but she's not the best pick everywhere either. A fun fact, if you can manage your sp, bronya is stronger than sparkle for Acheron. Sparkle's strengths are very much present but JQ's straight up vuln debuff and the uptime it has makes him a pseudo Harmony character. But unlike harmony characters he has an advantage and a disadvantage, He doesnt have non-acheron utility. Ruan mei makes you break faster(buffs super break), Robin advances everyone while sparkle/bronya also advances someone. JQ doesnt have anything like this outside of Acheron teams BUT he's future proof in the sense that The more units self buff themselves, the more value he has
true! and i agree :) I think sparkle feels much like how bronya feels, just... easier to run with at the cost of "maximum potential" but I also think that for the investment you are required to put into sparkle, she provides a much larger blanket of versatility over many different areas of the game than most characters, especially someone like Jiaoqiu, who IS as of 2.4 a relatively niche support unit but again, i also completely agree with you that over time he'll see his options open up further and further, because although his niche is narrow right now, it's only REALLY narrow because our roster is still small enough that there aren't many characters like acheron. but obviously as time goes, that'll change. so, overall, yes, I very much agree with your points, and I hope I expressed that well enough in the video :)

Incessant Rain, Inherently Unjust Destiny, Those Many Springs, Whereabouts Should Dreams Rest, - these Light Cones, as well. In case with Gui it might not be worth it, because it would take her 3 ENEMY turns to ramp up her BS, and by that time a Firefly team is usually done with a run anyway.
I think it's obvious that they are trying to retire brute force hypercarries with how hard jingliu and danil has been falling off recently (and acheron too) and even though sparkle is still good for old teams she hasn't been best in slot for any of the 2.x damage dealers (and no sparkle is not the best support for acheron before e2)
@@MishaXGallagher It's mostly about standart hypercarry teams like "dps - sparkle - ruan/robin - any sustain". While Acheron, Boothill, FF can be called hypercarry they require specific synergies to work instead of raw stat boosting.
Hypercarry is just not the flavor of the month and we're still lacking in proper 2nd slot for hypercarry support. Once enough people have FuA and Break, all of the sudden we will be getting the new shiny hypercarry and their dedicated support.
I think one thing you're missing is that the Prydwen statistics you're pulling from don't mention Eidolon levels in the graphics. Just like with DHIL, the majority of submitted statistics to Prydwen skew towards higher investment for Acheron. 29.21% own her E2 and 92.44% own her lightcone. And, of course, the Acheron teams with the lowest clear times are going to be influenced by this investment level. As other commenters have mentioned, Sparkle is only AS successful as she is on Acheron teams WHEN Acheron is E2, which lowers the amount of Nihility characters wanted on the team (Sparkle is Harmony). Jiaoqiu is Nihility, and from other calculations I've seen, is better paired with Acheron than Sparkle for the ~59% of Acheron owners who have only E0/E1. And like how Sparkle finds use in Hypercarry teams, Jiaoqiu can also find use in DoT teams, being a sidegrade to the two best DoT supports currently available (Robin/Ruan Mei), both of whom are considered some of the very best supports in the game. Not necessarily disagreeing with your ultimate conclusion, but I will suggest that it's less of a Sparkle sweep as the video suggests.
DO note that Jiaoqiu is only useful on DoT teams at E2S1, otherwise an E6 Gui is better. So his only use is on acheron team, if you don't have her/she is performing good enough he doesn't has a reason to exist.
I have Sparkle already so Jiaoqiu :) I am going to replace Sparkle with Robin eventually for my Acheron team. Robin and Jiaoqiu together helps each other's dmg and Robin's ult is busted with being able to give everyone more turns. I was gonna go for Sparkle's sig but I think I'll do DDD build instead once I get another s5 DDD. I still have a use for her for my Dr. Ratio team.

I prefer sparkle over Jiaoqiu in terms of character, but meta wise, he is the way to go. Lemme explain why in my personal opinion. Sparkle do fits everywhere, but Ruan Mei and Robin are way more useful right now. Most teams that depends on sparkle aren’t meta anymore. She is strong with Hypercarry like Jingliu, Seele, Jingyuan and especially Dan Heng Il. Hovewer, the reign of these characters is over. Now we see a lot of dual dps team like dots and follow up and there’s the break meta. It doesn’t mean sparkle is bad, but the meta is unfavourable for her right now since Robin and Ruan Mei stole her the spotlight. And now yes, there’s Acheron left as a good teammate for her, but you’ll see only a major difference with sparkle in your team if your Acheron is E2. And the intriguing part is that a lot of people start to think that Jiaoqiu + Robin might surpass the Sparkle Jiaoqiu combo… Which is bad for Sparkle… (but we will wait and see) And why Jiaoqiu is worth pulling? He might be niche, but if you’re a Acheron main, he’s making her stronger whether she’s E0 or E2 which is great.
There's alot of things in this video which makes me think (what the hell does this guy even play Acheron) also to prefise this i have acheron and sparkle I'm also assuming he's talking about E0S0 Acheron It's almost always sub optimal to use speed boots on acheron, with or without sparkle, you're losing way too much attack compared to the ult generation speed boots would otherwise give. The sparkle works with every team, is so weird because she just doesn't here's a list of team she doesn't work in, break teams, dots (which jaoiqui does work in which is weird considering he doesn't mention it) double dps, ironically Acheron you NEED her E2 but I'll talk about it later, most fallow up teams, and jingliu she's only really good in hypercarry, but never really the best unless it's mono quantum, which is dead, and dhil The top teams all having sparkle is just... Correlation doesn't mean causation, they all have sparkle not because sparkle works with normal Acheron, it's because the top teams are using top Acheron (E2 S1) so obviously they're gonna have sparkle in it sure there is kinda a case for her with acheron if acheron has S1 but not really acheron top teams are with sparkle, but you need E2 which dragonfly doesn't mention for some reason. Jaoiqiu only niche isn't acheron. he's almost as good as ruan mei in dot, which free her up for break teams, which dragonfly also just doesn't mention again for some reason, I don't think i need to explain why freeing up ruan mei for another team is so insanely good so I won't. Note: this isn't coming from a place of hate obviously but I'm just asking why didn't you mention these very important things (and the hard sparkle glazing)
Im currently running my acheron with welt, aventurine and pela so i cant wait for jiaojiao. Hes gonna be such a massive upgrade and i love his character.
I’m planning to go for a Sparkle Eidolon! Jiaoqiu is so pretty (and yes Kazuha) so I want him one day, but I don’t even plan on getting Acheron so I’ll wait until more characters are out… Also just don’t have energy to build new characters rn lol. Welcome back!
you're in the same boat as me!! I want jiaoqiu so much, but I don't even currently own Acheron, so I figured it's best to hold off on him until a rerun, and just grab sparkle for now :)
i think there's a lack of nuance here in that acheron+sparkle teams are best when acheron is at least e2. funnily enough, we should be getting an acheron rerun in the near future so you should also take that into account when making your pulling decisions (unless you're a whale and are pulling for anything anyway)
I think its less so that there isn't nuance in that and moreso that this topic more heavily focuses on what jiaoqiu and sparkle's worth is, in AND outside of acheron teams, so while Jiaoqiu is definitely tailored to her and will most definitely be the stronger acheron teammate, sparkle has much more versatility, etc. etc. the vid is less focused on one singular aspect and rather is focused on the overall account value for pulling for either or. it's partly why I did make it clear in the beginning that Jiaoqiu would most definitely be her strongest support by the looks that we've gotten to see from Hoyo+ official creators, teeheeeeeeee, also I WISH I was a whale, I'd pull for both in a heartbeat

I think that Jiaoqiu will be a better long term investment if you do have Acheron. There will be new harmony units that will come out which might fit you team better in the future. Jiaoqiu rule is a niche and I don't anticipate HSR making a character who does same as or have a generalist do the same and better then him.
Rather than a value comparison between these two, it would be better comparing the existing premium Harmonies. Picking either Sparkle, Ruan Mei, or Robin to invest in would result in drastically different teams and even relic stats to use. Whereas we already know Jiaoqiu plays a different ball game; being Acheron's best support.

Here comes the take: FUA and Break comps are basically feature-complete. They can't release More Broken Firefly, More Broken Robin, more Broken Aventurine, or More Broken Ruan Mei, and Yet Another FUA Character won't sell unless they directly powercreep an existing underutilised character (Yunli being Clara powercreep). What they'll probably do going forward is give currently undersupported comps new characters to experiment with, and at this point, the most notable targets are mono-Quantum and SP-intensive Hypercarries, both of which Sparkle buffs. Need to pay attention to who they run and when. Running Yunli and the BiS sustain for her comp was deliberate, running Acheron's newest dedicated support and her E2+ support option is also a deliberate choice.
As a e2s1 acheron haver, i plan on pulling for E0S1 jiaoqiu and skipping sparkle for robin. Hugely because i aim more for 0 cycle clears and if i want dmg per screenshot i can just borrow my friends' E6S5 sparkle

I think one thing you're missing is that the Prydwen statistics you're pulling from don't mention Eidolon levels in the graphics.
Just like with DHIL, the majority of submitted statistics to Prydwen skew towards higher investment for Acheron. 29.21% own her E2 and 92.44% own her lightcone. And, of course, the Acheron teams with the lowest clear times are going to be influenced by this investment level. As other commenters have mentioned, Sparkle is only AS successful as she is on Acheron teams WHEN Acheron is E2, which lowers the amount of Nihility characters wanted on the team (Sparkle is Harmony).
Jiaoqiu is Nihility, and from other calculations I've seen, is better paired with Acheron than Sparkle for the ~59% of Acheron owners who have only E0/E1. And like how Sparkle finds use in Hypercarry teams, Jiaoqiu can also find use in DoT teams, being a sidegrade to the two best DoT supports currently available (Robin/Ruan Mei), both of whom are considered some of the very best supports in the game.
Not necessarily disagreeing with your ultimate conclusion, but I will suggest that it's less of a Sparkle sweep as the video suggests.
So what is the current best acheron team?

DO note that Jiaoqiu is only useful on DoT teams at E2S1, otherwise an E6 Gui is better. So his only use is on acheron team, if you don't have her/she is performing good enough he doesn't has a reason to exist.

I am going to replace Sparkle with Robin eventually for my Acheron team. Robin and Jiaoqiu together helps each other's dmg and Robin's ult is busted with being able to give everyone more turns.
I was gonna go for Sparkle's sig but I think I'll do DDD build instead once I get another s5 DDD. I still have a use for her for my Dr. Ratio team.

I prefer sparkle over Jiaoqiu in terms of character, but meta wise, he is the way to go. Lemme explain why in my personal opinion.
Sparkle do fits everywhere, but Ruan Mei and Robin are way more useful right now. Most teams that depends on sparkle aren’t meta anymore. She is strong with Hypercarry like Jingliu, Seele, Jingyuan and especially Dan Heng Il. Hovewer, the reign of these characters is over. Now we see a lot of dual dps team like dots and follow up and there’s the break meta. It doesn’t mean sparkle is bad, but the meta is unfavourable for her right now since Robin and Ruan Mei stole her the spotlight.
And now yes, there’s Acheron left as a good teammate for her, but you’ll see only a major difference with sparkle in your team if your Acheron is E2. And the intriguing part is that a lot of people start to think that Jiaoqiu + Robin might surpass the Sparkle Jiaoqiu combo… Which is bad for Sparkle… (but we will wait and see)
And why Jiaoqiu is worth pulling? He might be niche, but if you’re a Acheron main, he’s making her stronger whether she’s E0 or E2 which is great.

There's alot of things in this video which makes me think (what the hell does this guy even play Acheron) also to prefise this i have acheron and sparkle I'm also assuming he's talking about E0S0 Acheron
It's almost always sub optimal to use speed boots on acheron, with or without sparkle, you're losing way too much attack compared to the ult generation speed boots would otherwise give.
The sparkle works with every team, is so weird because she just doesn't here's a list of team she doesn't work in, break teams, dots (which jaoiqui does work in which is weird considering he doesn't mention it) double dps, ironically Acheron you NEED her E2 but I'll talk about it later, most fallow up teams, and jingliu she's only really good in hypercarry, but never really the best unless it's mono quantum, which is dead, and dhil
The top teams all having sparkle is just... Correlation doesn't mean causation, they all have sparkle not because sparkle works with normal Acheron, it's because the top teams are using top Acheron (E2 S1) so obviously they're gonna have sparkle in it sure there is kinda a case for her with acheron if acheron has S1 but not really acheron top teams are with sparkle, but you need E2 which dragonfly doesn't mention for some reason.
Jaoiqiu only niche isn't acheron. he's almost as good as ruan mei in dot, which free her up for break teams, which dragonfly also just doesn't mention again for some reason, I don't think i need to explain why freeing up ruan mei for another team is so insanely good so I won't.
Note: this isn't coming from a place of hate obviously but I'm just asking why didn't you mention these very important things (and the hard sparkle glazing)

i think there's a lack of nuance here in that acheron+sparkle teams are best when acheron is at least e2. funnily enough, we should be getting an acheron rerun in the near future so you should also take that into account when making your pulling decisions (unless you're a whale and are pulling for anything anyway)
I think its less so that there isn't nuance in that and moreso that this topic more heavily focuses on what jiaoqiu and sparkle's worth is, in AND outside of acheron teams, so while Jiaoqiu is definitely tailored to her and will most definitely be the stronger acheron teammate, sparkle has much more versatility, etc. etc. the vid is less focused on one singular aspect and rather is focused on the overall account value for pulling for either or. it's partly why I did make it clear in the beginning that Jiaoqiu would most definitely be her strongest support by the looks that we've gotten to see from Hoyo+ official creators, teeheeeeeeee, also I WISH I was a whale, I'd pull for both in a heartbeat

I think that Jiaoqiu will be a better long term investment if you do have Acheron. There will be new harmony units that will come out which might fit you team better in the future. Jiaoqiu rule is a niche and I don't anticipate HSR making a character who does same as or have a generalist do the same and better then him.

Rather than a value comparison between these two, it would be better comparing the existing premium Harmonies.
Picking either Sparkle, Ruan Mei, or Robin to invest in would result in drastically different teams and even relic stats to use. Whereas we already know Jiaoqiu plays a different ball game; being Acheron's best support.
I don't have Acheron yet, considering I missed my chance on her first banner, but I do have Dr. Ratio e1, so with that, I'll go for Jiaoqiu.

Here comes the take:
FUA and Break comps are basically feature-complete. They can't release More Broken Firefly, More Broken Robin, more Broken Aventurine, or More Broken Ruan Mei, and Yet Another FUA Character won't sell unless they directly powercreep an existing underutilised character (Yunli being Clara powercreep).
What they'll probably do going forward is give currently undersupported comps new characters to experiment with, and at this point, the most notable targets are mono-Quantum and SP-intensive Hypercarries, both of which Sparkle buffs.
Need to pay attention to who they run and when. Running Yunli and the BiS sustain for her comp was deliberate, running Acheron's newest dedicated support and her E2+ support option is also a deliberate choice.
