Thank you. Super video. I remember the model from my RAF days in Germany 1957 - 1960. A lot of the guys took them home to England at the end of their tours of duty. Yours is a credit to you. True love I should think.
Thanks for your comment. I think that the best speed when driving on high-roads is about 80-85 km/hour. I only drive faster when testing the engine settings. The maximum speed is 120km/h according to the users manual. After restoring the car I have driven it for 30000km during the last 14 years. It has always brought me home safetly. There is no crack in the speedometer glass. Must be a sun-reflex I think. Have a nice day !!
Braveman 170. Thank you so much for posting this beautiful car. My dad had one when I was growing up and I will buy one whenever I see one in this condition for sale. I hope you enjoy this beauty for years to come. Best regards Hunter
that is today a wonderfull car... Not to fast for overfilled streets, but only safe, that you can drive, when you need it. Today i hope more cars will be builded not fast but sure and perhaps, with less oil or gaz
@braveman170 My MB170Sb/W191 has the same body as 220/W187 but the same front and engine as 170S/W136. 170Sb/W191 is a newer concept of the 170S/W136. 170Sb was built 1952-1953 W191 is a car with good space for 4 persons travelling in a nice way even in modern traffic 90km/hour. The 170V/W136 has a smaller body.

Yes, the color is the original Mittelgrün DB229. (Mediumgreen in English I think is an ok translation) The car has been totally overhauled. If you watch my video "Story" you can watch pictures from my 10 year lomg work.
I m driving a 2009 GL Blue Tec. I also once owned a US 1937 Chevrolet family car. Your Merc has "such a 37 Chev" look about it, especially from the side....... though, ten times the better car. Thank you for sharing, as they say....
In 1951 Mercedes had these cars (My own opinion): MB300/W186 = Modern S-Class MB220/W187 = Modern E-Class MB170S/W136 = Modern C-Class MB170V/W136 = Modern A-Class
My older brother owned a 1953 170-SD in the early 1960's while living in Dallas, Tx. It was a fun car to drive around and always drew a lot of attention. Unfortunately he had to let it go as it became impossible to find parts to keep it running reliably and it was his main daily vehicle. As I recall he originally bought the car for $600 and a Colt 45 pistol (This was in Texas remember).
@BeetleBerlin Once again: The car is a Mercedes Benz 170Sb, 1953, W191 Very similar to a W136 but I can assure you that it is a 1953/W191 Regards braveman170
@bababacardi It is difficult to say without watching the car. I would say 7500-10000EUR. I bought my car for 2000EUR 25 years ago. Today it would cost 15000EUR to restore it if you do most of the dis-amble and assemble work your self. You may watch images from my work at the link in my account head.
Hello, I found one here in my country, is not restored but full accesories and running, no rust. What price do you think is wright for a car like this?

Wow! My grandpa did his driving license on a 170. He always pointed this car out to me when we came across one in a museum.

That car is absolutely superb. This is a lovely video in the beautiful Swedish countryside.
I love beautifull old Mercedes. My grandfather had a V170 (W136) from 1936. It was black.

Yes I have restored it myself except for the paint and chromeworks.
If you watch my other video you can see details from the project.
@braveman170
The W136 was built from 1936-1953 in different bodies.
170V, 170Va, 170Vb, 170Da,170Db, 170S, 170S-V, 170S-D
Bell’esemplare!
Beautiful Icon😍😍
Thanks 😊

SUPER AUTO .
Very nice. There have been some conflicting comments as to the year. Would the owner be able to clear this question up?
@braveman170 Hwo would expend 15000EUR to restore it if final price for a car like this is 7.500-10.000?
@Joniel120
It is a Mercedes Benz 170Sb,1953, W191

Hermoso 170 👌

Yes, it is a flat head four.
cool. my family had a 170H in black. 5*
That clock over there is mechanical?
may we borrow some of your politicians?:D Romania's leaders consider owning a car like that a crime against humanity, punishable by taxes for life!
GOOOD!!!!
Tack!
Wow looks 30's. Mercedes was waaay behind in looks. (which i think is awesome) but way far ahead in mechanics.
@coolakiIlen007
Tack så mycket !
Verkligen en härlig åktur! Calmar Classic i år igen?
