Why did she kill the guests?? I understand about the husband and wife and the servants but the guests were innocent. Also completely agree with your point about showing that the girl was mentally unstable while committing this mass murder.
That's why they showed that she is mentally unstable so they can justify the reason behind Joy killing the guests. But if she is that unstable then according to that theory she should have killed Nid the little girl too. This seems like a average movie where just for the sake of thrill and gore they showed Joy killing all the guests so that audience can feel the gripping fear. But it comes off as comical and nonsense and yes I too agree with narrator that showing a person going thru mental problems portrayed as a Killer spreads wrong message. Another taboo to add to already controversial subject of mental health which will just discourage people to open up about their mental issues 🤦♀️🤦♀️

I think it is an total ill logical movie i mean when joy's sister got killed so she would have stop sending her letters so how can joy didn't find it weird and how can she kill the people who r not even involved with her sister's murder and when she killed her boss and her wife nobody i mean nobody come to find them i mean like seriously i don't think u should watch this movie....
I definitely agree, but I think she killed people unrelated to the murder because she was totally unhinged at that point. Do I think it was necessary for the film to show that? Absolutely not. Honestly the whole killing spree was one of the most boring parts of the film. My only question was the monkey. Why on earth was there a ghost monkey?

I would really want people to read the entire comment. It's not that only movies promote mental illness leads to inhuman activities but in real life it happens a lot and there are lot of examples too. Most of the psycho killers whom we are aware of have faced a traumatizing childhood, which lead to their poor mental condition and they murder or do illegal work either bcoz they think that these things are normal or bcoz they take revenge on society. Mental illness is a serious issue, it should get treated as soon as possible. It becomes more dangerous when these patients even trick the psychiatrist into believing that they are fine. At least some of the mentally ill people are seriously a huge risk to the society and there are real life murder cases to prove it. I have dated a bipolar disorder patient, he used to always fight with me unnecessarily one day when i finally wanted to end things he threatened to kill me and also threatened to harm my family's reputation. He used to go to a psychiatrist but never took his medicines coz he believed that he is fine. I am telling from my own life experience that mentally ill people are seriously harmful if their illness is not taken care of.
