My dad was born a few hrs more or less away. I plan to visit in a few months or so after these broken bones heal! I'm hoping to get a place in mexico 🇲🇽
Just spent some time in SMA and stayed at another boutique hotel called Villa Mirasol. Small but beautiful with a very nice breakfast. Even when things were wild by the church, it was quiet at Mirasol. Not too expensive either. Just another option, one we would consider returning to.
Thanks so much for this video, Kim. I am traveling to SMA in early December and plan to stay at Hacienda el Santaurio. I took your advice to stay closer to the center of town. I'm really looking forward to my trip! As a solo traveler, I appreciate tips from "someone in the know." Thanks!!
Can you recommend a good hotel where they have elevators or first floor accommodations? I’m traveling with my mom who is in a wheelchair in October. Thank you in advance
Great video but I find these prices are high for such a destination. Wow. Especially since you can even find a nice clean lovely hotel in PV for less than 80 dollars a night on beach
Thank you so much for watching. Yes San Miguel is more expensive than other places in Mexico. Make sure to subscribe to the channel if you haven’t already.
I don’t travel with a dog, so unfortunately, I do not have an answer for you. You can go to the links below and request if the hotels are dog friendly. Thank you so much for watching the video.
Hi I know this is not regarding the hotel, but im planning my first trip out there next month but im unsure on using a taxi on my trip or renting a vehicle in the airport. What do you recommend?
I did not need a car when I was in San Miguel. My recommendation is to get a transfer from the airport to San Miguel, and I’ve left a link in the description below. Thanks for watching, enjoy your trip! Please make sure to subscribe to the channel
Hi Ariana - I live in San Miguel. Do NOT rent a car, there's no where to park, the cobblestoned streets are very narrow and mostly are 1-way streets. You can get a very reliable ride to & from the airport with Bajiogo: bajiogoshuttle.com/ SMA is a walking city, that's where you see all the great stuff! Enjoy -
@@janedilldesign - I will be traveling to SMA in early December, and I appreciate the shuttle link you shared. Which airport does the shuttle transport from? QRE or Leon? Or both. Thanks!
A question: what is the name of the hotel you selected for the SMA trip ? Also, my sister can not walk a lot, how can she travel to this beautiful city. I will be going with her and help her but she may need a little help. Thanks
Thank you so much for watching the video. I just released a video About some great hotel options in San Miguel. I suggest you check that out for the best option for you.
Appreciate your great videos! We are planning a trip to San Miguel de Allende based on this video. Do you have any travel safety concerns when traveling in the state of Guanajuato? I see that the US travel department has it listed as “reconsider travel“. Just curious to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

Finally a RUclipsr doing hotel reviews! 👍🏾👍🏻👍
This was a very helpful video. 👍🏽 thanx
Tangerine Travels spent time at Casa La Chispa and said that it was a perfect place to stay, at a fraction of the cost of the Rosewood Hotel
It looks like a wonderful place, but it is not in the center of town. Maybe I’ll try that next time I’m there
Love your delivery, very nice and useful video. Looking forward to our first visit to San Miguel in a couple weeks!

Do u have a rundown for The Chapala area.
I’ve only spent a couple of days around Lake Chapala. I find more energy in other ex-pat communities.
Single senior (62) with a mini dachshund…anyplace dog friendly? Pool not necessary. Perhaps a scouting trip to see about moving there.
