I understand this song so well from the BPD perspective. It perfectly reflects that feeling when you want to be loved so badly, but you don't love yourself at all, so you don't think that anyone will ever love you too. That hurts you though, so you want to punish them and threaten them into loving you, and it's really violent. I really get it, it's impossible to control yourself during these moments.

It's called protagonist centered morality. We assume that because she's the main character she must be the good guy but she has done some objectively bad things. Just think of the Friends from that show "Friends", they were terrible people.

I think what Glen H said is right. Most people are shitty and a great many of us know are failures as people. Rebecca is someone who, although I wouldn't necessarily do the same things as her, does things out of desperation and self interest, which most people do.
The Demon Curupira is also correct. The protagonist isn't always the "good guy." It's all a matter of perspective. It's funny you mentioned Friends, because there's an episode (The One Where Phoebe Hates PBS) in which Phoebe argues with Joey over whether truly selfless good deeds exist.

OK, this one definitely IS funnier than the censored version :) This whole episode was exceptionally crazypants. I think it was the influence of the writer Michael Hitchcock (who's an actor who has appeared in a lot of the Christopher Guest movies, but he was also a writer for "Mad TV"). The episode had a really silly, sketch-like feel. That joke with the microphone has to be one of the most ridiculous things they've done on the show so far, but very funny. This show just keeps getting better every week.
