Sounds like you got yourself into an actual challenge. Anytime I do I ask myself the same question. Good luck, and something tells me you can do this! :D
Enjoy your humor. And I think you have done a great joy of juggling your ideas and making them happen. Keep it going and good luck with the hammers. Play the Banjo anytime....
Hola John excelentes tus videos , realmente ayudan mucho a los que recién nos iniciamos en la forja , mucha gracias . Coronel Walter de Bs.As. Argentina !!! 👍
Flipping a hammer always seemed to be a part of being a carpenter. I had many co-workers that could flip, catch, and drop in their hammer loop with such fluid motion it was like juggling. I can do a pretty mean flip with my hammer and speed is the key to keeping it out of your face. Now that is one hammer, never near finish work, and NOT walking. Just a few rules from my years on a carpenter crew.
Oh boy! Did you bite off more that you can chew? Lol! Good luck! Looking forward to seeing your progress! By the way... Just wanted to mention... I bought a set of the quick tongs from Kens Custom Iron Works. Looking forward to finishing them out... Since he's from Minnesota & so am I, They were at my door in 3 days! Now... Back to Blacksmithing... Thanks John!
If you can figure it out before January 1 2021 I will load your Patreon up as much as I can on New Year’s Day lol. Good luck John. Hey even if you can’t but you show us your progress I’ll still do the same! Love your videos and thank you for doing what you do!
Yours are my favorite channels these days. I’m out of work because of knee surgery and your constant flow of videos is keeping me positive till I can go back into the shop. Common sense, working hard, and having fun. Proof that you CAN do all 3 at once.
Hello John It is good to see you again Your challenge is very good and funny Try to learn juggeling is not so easy as it seems I look forward to see your success All the best and greetings Yours Frank
That is exciting! Good luck John! I learned to juggle with tennis balls over a bed. Rumple up the comforter and they don't go flying as bad when you drop them. Also it keeps you from lunging forward to catch the balls. You have to start with control like that and standing up against a bed or something else where you can't move is really good for your form early on. I eventually got to where I could throw them over my shoulder from behind and bounce them off my knee or toss them under my leg on the fly. Tennis balls are great because they dont hurt you or much else when you screw up. I never put the same effort into clubs (hammers) but I did manage to do a few rounds of clubs once so I know the skills cross over. I started with one club and did that a lot, then two, a LOT, before I ever tried to get serious about three clubs. Same with balls, break it down to easy parts, put on some music and do it till you are doing it right and getting bored or distracted doesn't' mean an instant drop. That means you have moved the skill into your reflexes. Once your hands learn it, it is like a bicycle, you never forget. I can pick up eggs and juggle them no problem and I rarely juggle anymore. I can juggle on a unicycle and never practiced them together so it is really just hours. Good luck and have fun!
Bags of rice are great for trainers. They don’t roll. Funny thing is juggleing is just the process of keeping one in the air. If you can juggle 2, you can juggle 3 as it’s just 2 over and over (right side, then left side). Never got to pins, which will be like hammers.
I was just thinking big steel balls would be good practice. And then you pull out the grinding balls. 😂. I do have a feeling your going to be doing some re-handling on a few hammers.
I enjoyed juggling as a kid and became if not exactly good at it, I did develop some skill. Juggling irregular things is very difficult compared to soft, heavy balls (didn't expect myself to write that sentence today). Juggling heavy hammers is difficult.
I have no doubt you will figure out how to juggle. The Hammers will be the difficult part. We learned to do it with tissues, just to get the technique down with something that has some wind resistance and floats fairly well
I think it sounds like a good way to ger practice in hafting hammers. But starting with balls, and progressing to handles (or pins) sounds like a reasonable progression. If you do get good at juggling the balls, I suspect you will get the hang of hammers. Now, if you manage to incorporate juggling hammers with working at the anvil, you will always have strikers...
I think being home is getting to you. Cabin fever whatever it takes to keep your sanity works. Good luck and looking forward in seeing you juggle hammers. Lol. .... Paul. 🔥🇺🇸👍⚒
I learned with beanbags, knees against my bed to keep from the natural tendency to walk forward when juggling. Never tried hammers, but my grand kids are fascinated that an old fart like me can juggle. Believe me, if I can learn, YOU can learn!
I had so many other things that needed doing I didn't devote enough time each day to get to that point. But maybe this fall I will find the time to practice.
Lol I love the idea John, I started teaching myself to juggle last Christmas maybe I should get started again good luck maybe start with ball peen-hammers?
I was watching one of my favorite Jeep channels, and they got caught in a really nasty storm at Black Bear pass in Colorado. Strange watching two channels i follow closely meet accidentally ---
May i suggest forging some heavy duty boot, toe & shin guards. Go for it i look forward to watching you. As the comedian Gallagher once said at a street performance in San Fran please for safety reasons don't throw change please rap in $10 bills first.
What have I got myself into?
I have full faith in you actually pulling it off. Definitely second the steel capped boots and hard hat, though. :)
There was a fella who thought that juggling three running chainsaws was fun. We call him lefty now. 👋
It's always good to learn new stuff. :)
Loads of fun and a skill that sharpens your reflexes and is good for your brain. I highly recommend it.
Sounds like you got yourself into an actual challenge. Anytime I do I ask myself the same question. Good luck, and something tells me you can do this! :D
Love this.....
Looking forward to videos...
Sounds excellent!!!! Steel toe boots are a must
You get a thumbs up from me every time---no matter what you do. If juggling keeps you going --have fun doing it! I'll watch.
Best of luck John!
Awesome goal! I'm looking forward to seeing your progress, and ultimate success.
Good luck can't wait to see the results
😀😁😃👏, yes I'm entertained!! Great video and great project. 👍
Thanks 👍
John this sounds like a Blacksmith challenge.
😄 good luck John
LOL, good luck John. I hope you manage to accomplish this.
Fingers crossed!
Enjoy your humor. And I think you have done a great joy of juggling your ideas and making them happen. Keep it going and good luck with the hammers. Play the Banjo anytime....
Thanks so much!
I can only juggle one 4lbs hammer. Full and complete support in your endeavor.
That sounds harder
Mr John you Amaze me
I'm confident that you can learn to juggle and pull this off. Good luck with your practice!
Very cool idea sir can't wait to see you do it!!!

Always entertained by you John! Keep it up
The best piece of advice from "Juggling for the complete klutz", learn to juggle over a bed, you don't have to bend over as far to pick up the drops.

A time lapse of your progress would make for a great intro to your videos in the future.
That may take some planning since I practice in small time slots waiting for other things to happen, but is a good idea

hold my beer and watch this lol

I'm not sure about forging, but i did see someone juggle hammers driving a nail into the ceiling.
I feel I'm getting better to know you every day lol
My grandpa used to do the same thing with steel bearings. I miss him a bunch.
Do you have three hammer heads without handles?
I think being home is getting to you. Cabin fever whatever it takes to keep your sanity works. Good luck and looking forward in seeing you juggle hammers. Lol. .... Paul. 🔥🇺🇸👍⚒
Geez John! This is gonna be a wild ride! I second the time-lapse idea! Have a camera on every time you practice!
Nice task!^^
Thanks! 😄
I want to see you forge something while juggling! Please!!! I will wait till next year sometime though. I dont want you to get hurt.
It’s official, you’re the best RUclipsr on RUclips!
Try some light ball pein hammers. They will probably flip better. And they are used for blacksmithing.
I learned with beanbags, knees against my bed to keep from the natural tendency to walk forward when juggling. Never tried hammers, but my grand kids are fascinated that an old fart like me can juggle. Believe me, if I can learn, YOU can learn!
The shop may end up with lots more ventilation, good luck!!
Year late John but how did you go? Ever crack it!
I had so many other things that needed doing I didn't devote enough time each day to get to that point. But maybe this fall I will find the time to practice.

When you do, it’s video time! Thanks mate!
Lol I love the idea John, I started teaching myself to juggle last Christmas maybe I should get started again good luck maybe start with ball peen-hammers?
Face guard, helmet and steel toes
Start saving your money for new glasses
This is going to be interesting! Next year, chainsaws?
I hope not
You want a challenge? Juggle three tomcats. Once you master tomcat juggling, everything else is easy. 🐱🐱🐱
Good luck! We should try something fun, thanks
I was watching one of my favorite Jeep channels, and they got caught in a really nasty storm at Black Bear pass in Colorado. Strange watching two channels i follow closely meet accidentally ---
Any updates on this? Forgive me if you have posted an update else where.
No real progress. I got distracted with other things. But its still on the list of things to learn
That was 7 months ago if you had 4 months of 2020 left, got the updated version yet?
still a long way to go. I got busy and didn't keep practicing
@@JohnSwitzer 🤔 maybe scheduling videos of your progress would help?
Now I gotta send this to my firefighter buddy. One more checkmark that police are smarter ! Our 40 year argument goes on!!!
Well John this looks like a real challenge .
But please stay away from the BEAR training.
get bowling pins from a local bowling alley for practice...
Did you learn it in 2020?
No, I got distracted by too many other things
May i suggest forging some heavy duty boot, toe & shin guards. Go for it i look forward to watching you. As the comedian Gallagher once said at a street performance in San Fran please for safety reasons don't throw change please rap in $10 bills first.
Buying hammers!? Why not make a video or two on making your juggling hammers
Did you ever learn to juggle?
No, but I still work on it from time to time. So it's not off the radar completely.
Pick things up and put them down……
