I know a lot of what they do is scripted so it's funny and fun to watch, but I do have to wonder what would happen if, just once, Barry (or Ben) just said "I've had enough," and left, and didn't participate in a video? Like I said, I know it's cheeky fun and scripted, but it would be interesting.
it's not actually scripted, though. They have points of information they need to hit, and for recipe videos they obviously have to tell the camera the whole recipe, but scripting these kinds of videos would be way more effort than result. Barry kept resaying the same sentence in the last clip bc it was probably one of the few points they had to hit, and when there's so many interruptions it's easier to remember where you were going if you just repeat the exact same thing :)
@@Erdnussbuttertoast Yeah, I just meant "scripted" as far as they aren't actually trying to be mean, but still, I'd just love to see the "OK, that's enough, I'm out" bit.

There's no malice in the 'bullying'. They are all best friends and stir each other up a lot

Like Kenna said, they each have their flaws that people love to tease them about, and each of the Normals is equally likely to futz with someone else just because it's funny. It's all lighthearted and nobody ever actually gets permanently angry so far as I can remember. Given that Barry was the "pretentious rich/borderline posh kid" at their school, he's just an easy target.
Hell, for a while there, Mike was the butt of the joke during their Kitchen Skills videos circa 2015 ("monkey with an axe" in the knife skills video, for example), and Jamie tends to instigate the sabotage (and earn all the retaliation) in their Ultimate Battles series, but neither one ever felt like they had to take it personally either.
