    I'm wanting to try this but with size 6 super bulky yarn. Any idea how to convert your pattern to that? I'm fairly new to crocheting and confused about how to convert patters for different yarn weights. Thanks!

    • @MandosStudio
      @MandosStudio  3 года назад +1

      I have not tried to convert it. But I’d say 1 stitch with a P size hook would prob equal 2 stitches on mine.
      So chain 41, follow the pattern. Slip it over your head & see if it needs to be larger.

    Ooooh, Yay!!! A southern gal teaching CROCHET!! You sound like you're from the Carolina's by accent....but I could be wrong (usually Ga, Ms, Al have a thicker drawl than the Carolina's, but maybe I'm just a biased Carolina gal😜). Anyway, love that I found a fellow southerner to follow!
    Love the poncho! Thanks for giving the count for the various sizes too. And I thought you did great with your camera/CROCHET work! I don't think I could do it...I'm doing good looking at it directly and still miss, I'd really be OF if I had to look through a viewfinder or a screen! So, honey, you did great!

    Hello Mando’s Studio!
    And thank you for the wonderful crochet tutorial.
    I am asking if you could please please make a tutorial on how to crochet an African Flower Tortoise. I cannot find a video tutorial anywhere!
    I learned how to crochet simply by looking at videos, so my pattern reading is not great. I did look at your other videos and I see that crocheting is not your main thing, but I would appreciate it greatly if you could make this tutorial!
    Love from South Africa xxx

    • @MandosStudio
      @MandosStudio  5 лет назад

      Amber Gets thank you for the kind words. I’ve never made one of the tortoises but have made the African Flower. My guess it’s just an assembly of those but I’d have to look more into it. Unfortunately, I’m having a neck procedure today & praying it helps get my feeling back in my hand enough to do more crochet. Currently I’m not able to do much. I can still paint, because it uses different muscles in my hand, but I have zero feeling in my thumb, partial index & middle fingers.
      I will def look into this while I heal up!! Blessings!!

      Alba Kambouris grab a pinch from the very center & pull it out. The end is in there. Make sure the label is right side up.

    If someone wanted to add sleeves to this, how would one do it?

    • @MandosStudio
      @MandosStudio  5 лет назад

      Phoenix Marine you would divide the stitches between each V. (35 stitches) and decide on how big of a hole you need & how high up on the poncho you want the sleeve to start. Once you decide that & size, you divide the amount of stitches for the hole (say 24) to 12 on each side of the half of the 35 stitches from V to V. Chain the 25 stitches & attach w slip stitch to the 25 stitch from the beginning of the chain. Repeat on the other side. On next down when you reach the chain, do the cluster sequence from previous rows. Once poncho is the desired length, go back to the arm holes & reattach yarn & work in rounds.

    Anyone have any idea how many chains for a size 2x?

    • @MandosStudio
      @MandosStudio  5 лет назад

      I wear a 2xl & my K hook with this pattern fits me fine. But you can always add another 6-10 chains or go up a hook size. I tend to crochet loose.

    Could you crochet in every stitch and not have holes and do the six dc were you need them

    • @MandosStudio
      @MandosStudio  5 лет назад

      Debra Reakes I would just double crochet in every stitch & at the V do two dc ch2 two dc then repeat around. Good luck

    I love this poncho 💗 Thank you for your wonderful video. I am making this for my 10 year old granddaughter. This is a birthday gift. She is tall and husky... big boned 😊 I am so scared to judge the neckline. I want this to be a surprise 😃 Is 61 on a 6.5 hook good? Using Yarnspirations Bernat Pop. Please help 😉 Thank you
