Finally a young rapper that can actually conduct a good interview. people saying it was boring just cuz this young man is intelligent. He got my respect
exactly my man. very engaging interview imo
Anthony Woods yo I compared this to Kodak's interview.... god damn yo glad I'm not a Kodak fan
@Shawn Yeah I do
@Thor The God Of Thunder, Hoes, and Beer name some rappers that have been on here and are way more intelligent?
You a real one! Respect g 🙏🏻
Joey is a wise young man nevertheless a leader.
"We can't usually play Joey on the radio"
"Well you could, you just choose not to"
Joey the most mature In that room
I'm an old head (37) and i got mad respect for Joey Bada$$
ditto...37 and this kid has his head on straight.
+dejuanp Way straight
It's relative. Like 37 ain't old to 50+year olds, but compared to 20 year olds ya it's old.
Yeah man everybody in my generation fucked up from all these wack ass role models trynna be thugs and shit, seems like nobodys looking at the big picture
+TheRapAnalyst you don't have to analyze everything bruh #takeabreakbruh
this interview REALLY encouraged me to listen to more of his music, been meaning to but hearing him go for the books instead of the liquor and being able to speak properly and clearly without using profane words....much respect Joey
Right! its a beautiful thing being a learned individual.
Yeah he stated he didn't read but then a close friend / brother told him it would help him if he read more
Great interview
Listen to 1999, you wont be disappointed
i love survival tactics
Envy got off the subject of playing records fast once Joey said they choose not to play his lol
That's why I don't understand why they have artists like this on the show..and talk about their music like they play it
+Fuckyourcouch nigga ahaha tru
They play trash that's y
***** they don't have a choice program director tells them what to play on terrestrial radio compared to satellite
Just makes it more obvious that they want to play conscious shit but upper lvls don't want them to, the masses won't respond to it.
Joey a living legend
Agreed man!
+Deandre Nuk Hopkins Nuk you prolly the type that listen to Soulja boy. Foh
+Deandre Nuk Hopkins Nuk fucc outta here
+Deandre Nuk Hopkins Nuk you prolly listen to drake
+black hippy He probly listen to Young Thug 💀
Love how he said he was decreasing his ticket prices for young black men. Respect!
This boy is very intelligent and sounds responsible
joey just earned maddd respect for keeping in mind the underprivileged kids thst cant afford high tickets
He's come so far. So proud of him.
He is humble for his age not a lot of people in our generation like That #90sbaby
he's narcissistic
he is in no way narcissistic
Oldhead
Imagine being a 90s baby
@@MM-gp9mb 🤣
I hate fans sometimes. No artist wants to be a starving artist forever that's no one's goal when they put music out. Be happy for him or stfu!
there's tons of underground artists that aint starving tho
+Johnathan russell Spitta for example
TrailBlazzor Muzik exactly
I think for most fans it's not that they want them to be starving forever but they don't want their sound to change or them to sellout and not sound like who they are so they could just get hit records if that makes sense to you
+Johnathan russell that's nice for them but I don't know one underground artist that doesn't want to put thier music out to a wider audience. I can't get mad at someone for trying to be more widely known and explore thier other talents.
Lol Joey throwing sneaky mayweather right hands at the breakfast club 😂😂 lol so funny envy on hush mode lol
Fr
Lol yea dem mayweather rights be blinding
yea i noticed that to he throwing shade lowkey
caught that too like when he told envy "well you guys could play it you just choose not too" haha good shit joey

13:47 the smirk he gave the camera 🤣🤣🤣🤣☠️ EYE LOVE JOEY #47Shitttt
Sad that Radio has no clue off true talent out.... just wants to keep playing the same fucking jams in a row.
Fr 💯 I don't even listen to the radio
neither do I, I hate hearing Drake 5 times in a row to hear Kevin Gates then switch back to Drake.
This is all orchestrated to brainwash us with the Bullshit the execs get to together and put this shit out to negativity impact the youth smfh
peep my channel...believe me when I say this.... I'm pretty dope
***** exactly, that's why i bump the aux SwuM > Drake
I have a lot of respect for this dude; laughed a few times throughout the interview. I love his charisma and just his overall personality and perception on things.
Envy tried it with the, "I can't play Joey on the radio because..."
Joe Gamble I love how he called him out but didn’t get mean about it
I been rocking with Joey since 1999
great interview.
Love his personality!
mimi laekun check out my beats tell me what you think bro
Envy and Charlemange need to look up the definition of "intimate" , I love Joey's response "whoooah broooo." like aren't you guys grown adults? You guys should know intimacy doesn't necessarily mean sexual. Really smart guy.
shout out to this man for not kicking another man while he's down
17:40 charlamange with some cringe worthy ignorance
Fr he was saying nasty shit
He's an idiot just like his boy Schulz
I was so done when he said that.
He was disrespectful tho.
Smart brother
and he's young

the
Why is the media still asking him personal questions on Steez passing..
yeah they just need to let the man rest in paradise. No need to bring back unwanted feelings he probably thinks of him everyday anyhow..
right! You can tell the way they ask about him, it just brings Joey down.
Braden Smith I was gonna like but I wanted to keep the likes at 47 🙏🏽
Waves and 95 Til Infinity 👍
You so behind
those are my favorite by joey
I'm saying none of Joeys songs can compare to those two tracks. Paper Trails probably though.
More like Killuminati and Suspect
+Ricardo G. True but I'll take Paper Trails over 95 Til Infinity
You would think that as many times as they show those hair promos, that Yees hair wouldnt look so fucked
lmao
+cars and sneakers 😄😄
Kevin King he still sexy it's alright 😭😂
Joey you don't have to justify we all as a collective know you don't have ghostwriters my nigga
Mixtape 1999 is a classic and I love Summer Knights. The album was a classic just hope he starts to drop more singles like Save the Children. My babe and I went to one of his shows and you'd think that only white people love Joey he def stayed away from that song and it's my fave. Show was still lit tho.
2Pactopus Agree Born day and few others that were released recently and they are my faves. Just wish I didn't go when it was totally white washed. He did a mosh pit and everything and that's not my scene. Joey saw us and I guess he saw me look terrified so he made an announcement for the girls to get all on one side that was kinda blocked off but we left and didn't get to see him close the show.
2Pactopus That's drunk white fun for you right there lol :) I just want to go to a lowkey concert where I get to hear panty droppa, bonita applebum and then the christ conscious etc. He's young tho hopefully he'll change it up.
SUMMER NIGHTS IS DEF A CLASSIC, my favorite , 1999 is just as great. I admit i need to support him more...💙 joey
Courtney Crawley You know great music. I love some old joints off the Seccs Tape mixtape too. Trap Door is a musical masterpiece.
B4.DA.$$ is also a classic..don't sleep on it
Breakfast Club so extra LMAOOOOOOO maybe intimate wasn't the correct word at the time, but we all understood what he meant. It's okay Joey we all love our mothers too.
it was the correct word, TBC just showing their ignorance
closely acquainted; familiar, close is what it means ur just slow
Is this your interview Q Mack? Or are you watching someone else's? Oh.
ur slow go read a dictionary
Yeah they definitely hold the L for that they be forcing it
That was the most succinct and real Breakfast Club, I've ever seen. REAL SHIT.
Nobody triflin'
+Cheese they took the meaning of the word intimate too far
true that actually
ppl need to stop fuckin askin dude about Steez
do THEY know what intimate means? Charlamagne can be so petty sometimes.
I just saw Joey Bada$$ on the Blankface LP tour in San Fran...so powerful! Nothing but blessings and positivity
I remember I first heard of Joey back in 10th grade like 3 years ago when I would get ready for school in the morning watching mtv jams. Underground airplay and unorthodox but survival tactics was what got me hooked
Get Flatbush Zombies on here
Yes!
bravo...now lets get this comment to a million fucking thumbs up lmaooo yeooo juice would spit some knowledge I swearrrr
I doubt they would want to tbh
Real Talk
+Nick DeRosa ak for your brain
Never heard his music...I'm deff check lil homie out. Good interview...

+Tris A. Bet that up fam..will do.
King Playa TM won't be disappointed, i can guarantee you that.
+keith cozart hows that a L?
When he put his gum in the napkin I immediately thought of Birdman lmfao , but props to Joey finally getting the respect he deserves. Definitely one of the top MC's of the new generation & dude is only 21.
Joey Steady throwing shots at the breakfast club during this interview
17:50 Charlamagne learns what intimate means
He's an idiot
I like this kid. Devasted not really my cup of tea but he's one of the best out right now
5 years later this interview still hit
*A$ap Trav* in the building
lool
+Kaeton Ellis 😂😂😂
😂
That joey x cole need to happen
nope
Norris Cole doesn't make music tho.
R.I.P. Nat King Cole
Nah we good !
L
2:30 is one of my favorite joey interview moments ever
Joey Bada$$ in one word:UNDERRATED
Joey finally got a radio record! Lowkey didn't even know devastated was his song lol
how
joeys most recent interveiws give me the impression that hes cooking up something big. get ready world. pe for ever.
I really like this guy. He seems cool and smart. I'm going to listen to his music now.
Start with 1999
1999 is literally gold
seeing joey talking about about his friends suicide made me tear up a bit for the fact that i can tell he was about to tear up, suicide is a fucked up situation and i wouldnt wish that feeling on anybody
niggas wont let joey have one hit lol chill.
This is the balance thats needed for an artist to be one of the greats
Charlemane"s face when Joey said intimate. I died laughing
He seems like such a chill and cool dude
He had my heart the minute he said he reads
I remember seeing his video "HardKnock" at 11 pm at night on MTV and this was before this mixtape even dropped, since then I've been a fan!
brian mora check out my beats tell me what you think bro
this mans gives me chills listening to how truthful and intelligent he is
joey seems like such a real dude and super grounded especially for how young he is. also this dudes music is fucking sick
bo hamburgers check out my beats tell me what you think bro
Great interview. Been following Joey since 1999 and Hardknock and it's amazing to watch how much he's grown as a person and an artist. Really glad to see him continue to shine and get love, wish him the best.
Probably my favorite out of the new school. I rock with this kid. He gives me hope that the genre can survive a 15 year slump.
18:14 then my mom live with me, hahaha golden. This is a good dude.
two of my fav project from joey is 1999 and summer knights
Watching Joey Grow from the underrated MC just 3, 4 years ago to where he is now. Having a massive influence on the planet and utilizing his power to spread positivity and knowledge is just crazy. Even with all the pain and stuff he's dealt with and still has to because of fucks like Troy Ave he still carries himself as a prime example for my generation. Especially with the rest of Beast Coast blown up there is no stopping them ever
Miss my dude Joey, wish he would drop another classic tape but he's on his Hollywood wave now lmao that shit he just dropped was 🌽
Cause he reached christ conscious nigga
+Bunga facts
I feel that, I think has latest singles weren't hot
Glad he's getting shine. I'm happy for him. He can't be a starving artist forever!!!
I don't like devastated either. But I do like the album.
17:30 they like "whoaa domt say intimate" joey said "whoa whoaa broo whooa" 😂 i love his face expression when they stopped him lmfaooooo
His "Devastated" is kinda like the equivalent to "I" by Kendrick. Just a radio song to get some buzz and then the album drops which does not fail to impress I hope
True
Sorry, but "I" by Kendrick is a whole different vibe. It has no trap beat, it was more funky, and a whole different sound of what you hear on the radio. And it had a deep message to it. Devastated was more of a personal song for Joey himself, for fun. He even said he freestyled the song. It was just fun. "I" was a more conscious, complex, but up-beat, and joyful song.
Prolific Pops I am not saying the songs are similar I am just saying that the reason for making the songs are the same for them both.
Bedcorn Oh, ok. Yeah, you're right.
on an interview with mtv kenny said that "i" was necessary to him to get thru his depression
Glad to see Joey doing good. It's been a long road for him from 1999 to the Devastated single it's just great to see talent grow through years
First song I heard of his was christ conscious, been a casual fan since
And the song was out a few months before i caught on
First song I heard was 95 til infinity. I didn't like it at first doe
+King “Resurrection” Kora that was the first track of him I heard I thought it was wack and boring 2 hours later I'm yelling the hook
Olumide Sobodu LOL actually what happened with me was I seen him long before I liked him. I used to always see his music so I clicked on 95 once and didn't like it. Like months later I clicked on it again and I still didn't like it. Then MONTHS later I finally got into the song, then I listened to B4DA$$ basically, then I sorta went backwards
my first was Unorthodox. I was automatically hooked
been waiting for this interview 😁😁
this man intelligent I respect Intelligence
Joey spot on. Im just now going to my first show at 22 never had the funds to go
24:12 He directed all those? If you haven't seen those, go peep they are DOPE.

Joey a real dude, it's nothing like being original, it looks good on yourself when you being the first you and not the next man next man next man ....
