When Charlamagne says she was accepted as one of the dudes, that sounds weird to me. I think she can be accepted without having to be looked at as a dude; she's clearly still a female, even if a bit masculine. I've worked with plenty of gay females and I don't treat them like any gender in particular, they're just a coworker. If they mention whatever girl they wanna hook up with, I don't make the conversation turn to "oh, girl on girl action", I would just acknowledge it the same as if it were a guy saying the same thing. No need to emphasize somebody's sexual orientation or gender and make it relevant when it's not.
